On this channel I show repairs of vehicles and other stuff. I may not be the best at whatever I do but I try to be honest and show the repair best as I can. Remember some of these repairs are a learning experience for me also.I hope you enjoy! Please feel free to subscribe if you have the interest. This a Facebook free channel. I am not on Facebook!
I’ll try to make/post a video on how to use the mounting end of the tire bar next time I mount some tires. Its a STEEP learning curve, i only learned how after I ripped a bead prying a tire on. Best instruction I can give without a video is that the duck bill end of the bar is used to stretch the tire on not ride, roll, pop, or pry it. The flat rides the rim, the bead rides the upright tang. It works a treat so much better then prying them on, just a b**** to learn.
Your issue is that you need to push down on the tire when mounting it, I have an old coats 4040 and you have to push down on the side opposite your bar push tills it’s just below that little bump in the rim……nice job though you have to be a real man to mount your own tires. My step dad used to be able to dismount with a hammer and a couple of bars…..break the bead by driving the car around the tire.
After slaving over my rust bucket 2500 Sierra this weekend. "If you can get somebody else to do it, you're probably better off!" gave me a good hearty chuckle.
We bought a Gulfstream brand new in Airdrie Alberta. Since we have owned it it has had to have the microwave replaced, the furnace repaired twice, the hot water tank repaired all within the first year of ownership. Not to mention the litany of cosmetic issues that needed to be fixed. There is nothing like going camping in the middle of winter and not having heat!!! We thought buying new would give us years of hassle free camping - we regret buying GulfStream and will never again give our money to this company! I will never buy a new camper again. Save your money and buy a pre-covid camper! One last thing, the freakin drop down stairs are a horrible idea. Is anyone able to properly shut the door with these things? Please let me know if there is a trick to this!
Thanks for the video. There is a procedure to de-program a key fob, it is in the user manual (or look into some videos related to this issue) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-56WBxSuT5Wo.htmlsi=yinn-K-Fv-9fV25e. However, doing this will disable any key fobs you might still have. I had to do this when our keys got lost and the spare fob battery didn’t work even after replacing the battery. Since none of the 2 original key fobs didn’t work and/or were not detected, I had to order a replacement and then de-program all key fobs then reprogram all of them (putting brand new batteries in the original ones. Tedious process , it took me about 2 hours, the process didn’t work ( the 1st 2 times) exactly as stated in the manual.
Quick question, my f150 only came with 1 key (flip key) . And the truck is limited by a "my key" feature. So if i took the flip key apart and just used the key and not the whole fob, do you think that the "my key " feature would still function or no? Im trying to disable the restrictions. Thanks
All you have to do is remove the master cylinder . It comes right off Move to one side . Remove power steering line. Unplug harness in way (2) Lift altinator out. Done
I hope you changed out the 12 Volt starter battery. When this battery is old unstable with a high internal resistance. All kinds of codes will start to throw. I changed out this battery on my Volt and haven’t had a code thrown since.
One guy pointed out that since you're bolting the stand down to the floor you can get rid of the X-frame at the bottom and just bolt the square metal base straight to the floor. Then the post sits flush to the floor, you can throw down some cardboard for protecting the rim. Another guy suggested to put some heat shrink on the end of the bar so it doesn't scratch up the rim.
Good vid. Nothing like a monkey on a football. I would place a piece of conduit over the theads to protect them. Good job. Like that brake type bolt. If you have a rim hole put a bar in it to keep it from spinning. All good
I just stopped trying to install the new alternator in my car. I could not do it. Came to look for a video and realized what I need to do tomorrow morning. Thank you very much for your help.
I just got my 2018 Trax LT the civic I had before this when doing the breaks there was like a V shaped spring that keep the pads off the brake rotor when not using the breaks. What keeps the pads off the rotor as I don’t see anything like that in this video
Mike... youre a mechanic. I trust your opinion. Im trying to decide between a Chevy Volt and a Ford C Max. Probably 2012-14. If youre a Chevy guy... youre probably going to say the Ford is junk. Lol. But ive had good luck with diffent ford and chevy models. But if personal opinion aside....which one is the wiser option. Thanks & God bless
It is my understanding that you check the fluid level with the engine running. With the engine off, the fluid level rises and gives you a false level reading.
Damn whatre you disgruntled about lol? Yes the duckbill-end is a royal pain in the rear and yes I use the other end as well and then pry only the last section up and over
@@TheDisgruntledMechanic I understand, so now you can show us some brain surgery? All ya need is a hacksaw and a hammer, mostly a hammer, as the person you use was probably a hardhead, lol
I watched this to help me decide between buying a 2015 or a 2018 Volt. I love the technology behind these cars and am eager to have it working for me. I could definitely get into a 2015 for considerably less than the 2018, but I think I’m gonna go with the 2018. The center stack in gen 1 really puts me off. All those buttons - crazy. The gen 2 looks so much cleaner in the center stack. Add in the improved economy and range of the gen 2 makes the 2018 worth the extra dollars I’ll have to put down for it. Good video - thank you.
