An important development regarding regulatory approval of FSD is The NHTSA AV TEST Initiative. The notion that one day millions of Teslas will instantly be allowed to operate unsupervised everywhere is a fallacy. The process will be incremental...state-by-state and often city-by-city.
There are plenty of leadership roles that do not require a vision. They need to have a clear mission. That mission may or may not be visionary. A good leader is someone that can influence or motivate people. A good leader also makes sure the people under him/her have the tools they need to accomplish their tasks. This is just Randy looking for another way to pump Trump.
Alexander the Great is a good example of a leader. Elon is mediocre in comparison, but is great by modern standards. I would put Elon in the range of Carnegie, Rockefeller, Bell, Howard Hugh’s, or Tony Stark… Trump is a mediocre example but again in comparison to modern political standards he is great. I am obviously not a Trump super fan but he is certainly the best option.
Afraid we can come up with way more things T-rump said he would do that he didn't do. Other than that, I agree with everything ELSE you're saying. It's a lot like becoming a great and renowned musician. If you think you'll have a "normal" life in the process, that is less likely. My father was driven to achieve some pretty great things compared to his level of education etc., but "it" gained control of him and he became more driven than was healthy for him. So what I am saying is, in addition to all the qualities required to do great things, one has to carefully rein in the forces that "can" destroy us.
The idea it has "value" is nonsense because anyone can create a new crypto coin. Once Quantum computers are working, all crypto is fucked (no security).

But doesn’t the drop in the gas price make it less profitable leading to a decrease in production and then increase in prices? It will most likely be a lumpy downward graph over time assuming continued EV growth?
@@malkum61 but what cause the ice vehicle to spontaneously combust though. Because petrol is quite hard to ignite without high pressure. But with li-ion, once there is a short in the battery due to the hairs formed it can short the battery so there is a risk because the fuel and the igniter is so close together
On a selfish note, those of us with EAP shouldn’t have to pay the same price as those with basic autopilot on a monthly subscription basis. We’ve already paid half of the FSD costs. Honestly, that’s a great deal for those who didn’t upgrade.
It's funny how the world is turning on it's head. Not long ago democrats were pushing the carbon tax and republicans opposed it very hard. And of course a carbon tax is logical. The problem with burning fossil fuels (in this context) is that the negative consequences aren't priced in, which is distorting the market forces. So the obvious solution is to fix that by taxing carbon emissions. And since higher energy prices hurt the economy, the collected money should be redistributed. Either equally, or targeted at low-income households and small businesses. Or even as a negative tax on clean energy.

I love FSD. But to be honest most people I talk to say they like driving. It’s going to be a hard nut to crack to get everyone to want self driving. It may be a generational thing who knows.
I love driving too. But long highway drives and traffic jams are no fun, and more and more these are your choices. Not to mention that regulations getting tighter and enforcement getting more effective every year, which further reduces the amount of fun you can have. Fortunately simulators are getting really good, and the money I save on not buying a fast car would buy me a top tier simulator.
Right now tesla is like an incubator that has a lot of great places(where tesla is in the lead) to invest capital in. To the extent tesla stock price helps tesla raise funds which could accelerate developments, then any short term thing that raises revenue and earnings is a good thing. Extra income primarily means Tesla can avoid the risks of economic contraction by staying self funding.
