Went there last year with my dad to do some fishing a full size mountain lion killed a pig right behind us! The scream/squill it led out was so loud it was trippy and Erie it happened in the brush literally right behind us when we went from the water to the trail the mountain lion seen us and was making growling sounds to warn us to stay back. Freaked us out so we left and haven’t been back since lol
I was letting my girlfriend use it that day. The rod at the end was similar; 12’ 12-25 bend loomis rod with saragosa 5000 spooled with 20lb power pro. Best of luck out there
The location is called Surfers Beach. It is right along side pillar point harbor. The best time to fish would be in between low and high tides. Yes, a fishing license is required to fish this spot. Best of luck out there
The quality would be better, and the South Fork Stanislaus River is open last Saturday in April through November 15th with barbless hooks and artificial lures only.
I'm just starting to fish for halibut in the bay. I'm trying to figure out what area I should head to on a given day. It looks like you are near Osyter point why there? Instead of the Almeda rock wall or up near Paradise. Thanks
Hello Jeff! Halibut are usually found next to the bait. Bait moves around but is usually found in shallow water in one of the many common areas. I suggest trying out one of the shallow areas closest to you, and then moving along if the bite isn’t there. Best of luck!

If you want to cast and retrieve: 8’+ rod with a max lure rating of 1oz-1.5oz, 4000 size reel with 8 mono or 20 braid, Carolina rig setup with sliding 1oz egg sinker, 25lb fluorocarbon leader, #2 bait holder hook, 2” Berkley sand worm in and color. If you want to bait and wait: 10-12’ rod, 6000 size reel with 15 mono, surf leader (double drop shot), size 2/0 circle hooks, 5-8oz pyramid weights, 6” Berkley sand worms. Best of luck out there

have you had any issues with your Cobra UHF radio? no matter what i do my voice sounds super muffled and underwater and people can rarely hear what im saying. incoming is loud and clear
Makes me sad seeing this. I was hanging out there 40 years ago and had a lot of great times. the beach was packed and full of chicks. It looks like a shell of what it was once back in the day.
