I love the bush. Photographing and filming our extraordinary landscape fulfils many passions but most strongly of all is the discovery of places and people, who without photography as a vehicle I wouldn’t have the privilege of seeing or meeting.
Get Terry is about inspiring others to get out and discover our rural places and if an image moves someone enough to purchase then that’s, a bonus.
Head over to getterry.com.au to find hiking destinations on a map of Australia or purchase featured images in canvas or framed prints.
Hey mate, How long was the walk?? is there any walks that you would recommend for an overnight stay somewhere?? I am from the west side of Melbourne so do not get over that side much if at all?? Cheers.
G'day Gav, sure can. Of course this advice depends on what you're seeking as there are many differing opinions on what makes a great hike. Horses for courses. But my advice would be to pitch a tent in Marysville and spend two days hiking the Lake Mountain summit and Beeches walk. But plenty of short, medium, long hikes in the area and very scenic. Good luck outdoors.
Incredible tree. I've planted a few myself; English, French (Holm) and Turkey, all amongst eucalypts. I hope that they live to have someone walk under and be in awe of them as you were of this tree. Thanks for sharing it.
Loved tagging along with you, & what a lush experience. I took my girl to Cape Raoul 2014 and showed her the basalt / dolarite cliffs- they are truely amazing up close- had to request sea plane to fly over them to show her what I'd seen from a ship. Tassie is superb- I've randomly watched a channel called Togl, it's North West - slow going viewing but pretty. Bucket list for me possibly is Milford Track some day. J & R
Always a great watch mate! & I was sporting legs just like that today on the Otway Classic bike ride- hairs & all, zero tan, in Lycra. Regards Jake & Bec
A sensational tree! I know they come in many and varied shapes and sizes but i dont recall having seen one quite as contorted as this. We have the most majestic tree on our little place in Central Vic - probably it is also a red gum although there is varied opinion about it. Regardless, it is completely captivating. If you're out our way, shout out and come take a look.
Good to see the local area mate👍 it’s really good to see some of my home areas being shown here bloody great. I don’t think people realise we have the most amazing and adventurous places in the world in Victoria. Your videos rock man it’s surly worth all the work you put in and in my eyes it’s finally good to see these joints. Good one 👍
Out there the button man is the least of your worries trust me brother. Our bush has things that don’t come in science books ??? Great videos man keep the adventures coming great to see some off beat places cheers bro👍👍👍
PS: I was sold on the idea of subscribing upon meeting 'Terry', but your professed love of 'Austraya' and its bush(lands) really sealed the deal! Nice work, Nick.
What a cracking tree! I, too, love the Lemon Scented Gum. While we hardly need any more eucalyptus on our little place, a few years back I noticed a dwarf variety in the 'reduced to clear' section of some nursery and had to rescue it. It now lives among our towering stand of blue gums and, when it rains, if you walk by it you can smell the beautiful lemon scent it gives off. It will never reach the majesty of this tree you've captured and shared but it is treasured nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.
extreme windows of beauty <-- says it all. Great video, nicely put together. Goo luck with your adventures and your channel, I know it's a lot of work ✌🏻
Sorry, all these selfies and the added weird music, makes it hard to watch. An idea to improve: real sound, film more from Chiang Mai itself, and, nothing personal, less of yourself. I guess for most people it is more interesting to see the scenery, town, maybe add some relevant info? Good luck!
Hey Bo-tz, thanks for feedback. It does say up front in description that video is a montage rather than anything informative. I'll take onboard feedback and look to make that more explicit next time round. Sounds like Monk's Trail and Rabeang Pasak are more what you're looking for. Cheers.
When the listed ingredients to Aeroguard are pronounced with ten plus syllables the receiving hand/s needs to head for the sanitizer as the very next movement!
There’s more detailed maps out there of course. But sometimes the greater part of the adventure is hiking the long route in pitch blackness with the occasional deer fog horn scaring the bejesus out of you. On further consideration it’s better to bring the detailed map.
I always really enjoy your videos & your sense of humour! I've never seen the water that high at the Big Peninsula Tunnel before. Lovely spot... but yeah some of those maps are ridiculously lacking information!! Can't believe that someone would just leave a tent & all that crap behind (well... yeah I can actually! 😐)
Good stuff, just found your chanel. Keep it up. Found you at Lake Elizabeth vid. Great watch. Was there today, noticed a friendly copperhead snake by the path. God Bless
Cape Schank to Bushrangers Bay......favourite winter running track....also part of the Two Bays Trail which I've enjoyed running...and even did a cheeky Camping Overnighter walk on...from Dromana to Gunnamatta. I was introduced to the Schank by surfing mates, way back before any infrastructure existed....the excitement of the view, the scramble down with anticipation, the freezing waves and sharkey feeling that kept you close to the rock shelf for the take-off....and the long, exhausting haul back up to the carpark with frozen numb limbs...yeah, Good Toimes indeed.
Hey Andrew thanks for the feedback there. Great read. Ended up talking to the surfers featured in this video only wish I’d thrown the camera on for a proper chat. NR
That wee range became my go to when I lived in Healesville. Anybody visiting from overseas got a tour along its spine. I've probably been up there more that any other hill I've summited (8 times?)...and I'm from Scotland!
@@getterryoutdoors Sugarloaf every time, at least as far as the farmyard. Once I bridged out of the cave through a gap. On a couple of trips in did the whole traverse. End to end… and one memorable one where we straddled the ridge off Sugarloaf for several hundred metres. A lot of fond memories between 2000 and 2006 on the range.
Nice video! I went up there in the snow once and came across the abandoned "town" before the bushfires happened. I didn't even know it was there, it was very eerie. I loved it!
