Good video but long story short its not about salt or anything or fairness if ur good ur good if ur bad ur bad leave it and go find something else u can do or ur good at it
nerfing or buffing all depends on the situation imo. there is no one right answear for how to "balance" a game. Buffing or nerfing can have the same effect to a degree because just as a nerf can change the playstyle of a character so can a buff. iam not really into fighting games but for example world of warcraft has lots of balancing happening all the time to different things and even by just buffing one ability can have the effect of flipping an entire playstyle on its head. but i do agree that it shouldn't be balanced due to the fun factor and its okay for developers to experiment but try their best to keep the playstyle and identity the same. ofc there should be leway due to those changing whenever anything is changed but keep it in the same ballpark.
You should've taken a detour to Karachi and Peshawar especially... I would've wanted to show you around the Tekken and esp the COD scene here in Peshawar. Its unmatched!! We have crazy FPS players here and have huge local PUBG, Fortnite, COD and Battlefield tournaments!
With modern fighting games aggressively trying to oversimplify the controls, dumb down specials, and phasing out motion inputs, we need a followup on this video more than ever.
I know it's not the focus of the doc but I found surprising how many loanwords I though I heard from non-english speakers. Anyone know if it's a common feature of the language in general or specific to the FG subculture?
11:10 knockdowns are so frustating! escpecially in tekken, when the opponent just attacks you while you are still falling to the ground and you'll just float there waiting for your doom...
Wow really proving his point there buddy ur so bad at the game that u cant differentiate between skillful play and button mashing. Maybe one day though keep mashing 😅
>Can only fit so many moves on a 4/6/8 button controller. >They're called SPECIAL and SUPER Moves for a reason. >Why should these moves that give you better positives than Normals, like a Hard Knockdown vs. a Flip Out, or simply more damage and invul, be just as easy to do as a Normal? What's the point of a Mexican Uppercut when One Button Shoryuken exists?
@@pokebronyborn >More moves can exist due to motion inputs. >This should be self-explanatory. >In RPG talk, why would I ever cast Fire for 5MP when Firaga is stronger and also costs 5MP? What's the point of Fire existing when the objectively superior Firaga exists? What's the point of options when one option is stronger than the others and has no drawbacks to offset it?
Fighting games are "hard" because zoomers today are lazy, entitled, have huge egos, dont want to learn anything, want everything chewed and handed to them on a platter and they are used to always blame somoene or something else for their failure instead of taking responsibility and admitting they didnt want to put any serious time into practicing. Fighting games require dedication. They are for serious boys and girls. Not for casual scrubs who dont take shit seriously
fuck man, I dont have the travel money, but I live in a bigger city and have good interent now (finally for the first time in my life, I'll try to find some tourneys to finally go to Locals!
In Pakistan the first craze of every kid from 5 to 15 years is to play arcade games but parents don't allow due to multiple legit reasons although many kids and youngsters spend a large time of their life in arcade centers that is why there are many good players here
It really sucks that video games have become a literal math equation. I love that there is a passionate community of pro players but now it feels like every average player is better than the world champs of 20 years ago. I don't want to win every time but to be able to once out of every 50 matches would be nice..
The biggest problem I have found is that I do not want to be pro I just don't want to play against bots.. 100 matches in Brawlhalla and melee and I havent won a single one. There is no place for actual beginners to play this style of game together. I dont mind if I lose 4 matches and win one. its a lot better than playing 100 matches and never once knowing what its like to win.
Hearing someone say motion inputs are gatekeepers makes my head explode. I admit some motions give me trouble I can't consistently dp its hard to do. However I compensate that with 360 motions it's why I play a grappler. It's okay to not know every motion and be good at them. But taking them away I believe takes away a fighting games identity. There is a place for one button specials dnf has them and that game is fun. But what I see those games as are gateway games it helps you understand fundamentals and how games work. Motion inputs are the next level. You take what you learned and get better if you choose to.
It helps a ton too that Tekken 7 was on PC for the first time in its history. Considering a lot of countries STILL can't buy consoles and if they can they are absurdly expensive.
In a fighting game, buffs are the way to go. But in games like MOBAs or hero shooters like apex, overwatch, valorant, etc. nerfs are required. It’s not fun to get one shot in a game where the time to kill is not very low. Like roadhog hooking you from behind a wall and killing you or hanzo randomly launching arrows the size of tree trunks and luckily hitting your head. Or if abilities getting too over-centralizing where you and your team are at a severe disadvantage by not having it. But in a 1v1 game like most fighting games, buffs are super fun and as long as a character doesn’t get too extreme, they make the game better
