the whole "damage reduction" on one of the most oppressive DPS that ALSO benefits from the dps passive of reducing healing would basically turn him into a tank role tank.

i still think the game needs to fix one issue....Reinhardt. Yes his swing hits multiple people, however unless they let you hit them all per swing, your damage will never amount to a kill most of the time. His fire strike no longer one shots certain structures. His shoulder charge doesn't one shot certain structures, and due to the armor rework, kills many more fewer heroes. Due to the armor rework, his ult does less damage. Over all, he was the worst hit of the armor rework. His saving grace is the passive healing buff, however this requires he get out of combat for a certain amount of time.

@@Ahrone1586 the armor rework decreased his overall damage, and some heros, including DPS and support heroes got a buff because of it, but not all heroes had armor and so their survivability didn't change but their damage output went down as well. The armor rework probably was the widest nerf so far.

Bastion's assault form shouldnt have a time limit, but instead a limited ammo pool, and the cooldown should only apply if you shoot in it. Love the nade change idea though. Knocking enemies away would cement his role as a backline suppressive long range fire dps.

I commend the attempt, but I disagree with the vast majority of the ideas. The seperating fire idea is not s good idea imo, but maybe a right click with a CD that fires both at the same time, to add burst but forces him to take a little longer toccontinue firing. It could be used akin to how one uses Quick Melee. If it finishes off, good value but ir not, then its a DPS loss. The reworked wraith form sounds like a more limited Moira shift. I say give him more speed, shorter duration and give him flight for a few seconds during and after (5 total) that drops if he takes a hit Remove Shadow Step. With the above change, Wraith fills its role in an interactive way. To replace this, I was thinking a "Shadow Burst" from himself that heals him for like 50 or something baseline and attemlts to hit foes around him. If it lands, he heals for more. As for ultimate, I think it can still be fine but if not, then I say he marks a foe and turns invisible and inciperal for foes while the twrget does the same, and they both go to a "Shadow Realm" where they are forced jnto a 1v1 duel for like 6 seconds. The thing blizzard is trying to do is make every one playable in every situation. Doing so takes away their niche and their uniqness. So just giving everyone the same passive for their role just to make it so that there is little difference to picking a different one. The thing is the moba aspect keeps that from being 100% possible. So the devs are roller skating uphill. A circle in a square hole kinda thing. They can't figure out that it's okay to be niche and have a low play rate. It's up to the player to make it work. That's how metas were originally made. They just want a quick patch without actually looking in too deep.

Maybe make her beams ramp up over the first half second, then slowly fall off if they dont receive damage. If you get to her peak healing with the beam it reactivates the target's natural regen, allowing her more team wide effect.Her boost could instead of increasing dmg percent deal an extra fixed amount of dmg when ever her boosted person deals damage. Make her ult single target res. Make her second ability a nerfed verison of her mirrorwatch soul explosions.

It's a cool idea. I kinda like the idea of turning Bastion back to being able to be a tank, but make it part of the base kit. Basically, new ability Configuration:Tank. Launches a slow arcing grenade that deals high damage, but slow fire rate. To compensate, bullets in turret form is slowly lower. This will make his theme as a character to be a shape shifting menace, where he relies on these longer CDs for his damage. Having a constant damage mode for consistent singke target focus and a stronger aoe for when the barriers are down will result in a dynamic playstyle where which form you pick depends on what you and your team needs. Naturally, numbers have to be adjusted and this concept is at a design level.

Good video, however i think tanks passive should get a big change, instead of a 50% knockback passive, they should get a 50% reduction of cc. The problem with keeping to buff tanks is that the more you buff them the more value you get out of using cc on them. So if they would get a 50% cc reduction every cc ability would get less value out of using it on tanks. This would however be hard to implement and would have to be changed for every ability manually. Example: if you get hooked by hog you should be stunned for half the duration, but should you also be hooked half the distance? Implementing global nerf about every half a year or so could also hugely reduce power creep in the game, these nerf could be focused on the annoying parts of heroes kits, like fortify and mauga overdrive. This change is however not good to be used forever and should be a placeholder for reworks. One idea could also be to revert the game to s1 balance but to keep the current reworks. Starting over again might be a good choice now when the balance team has dug themselfs this massive hole.

I honestly really like this, and wish it was something they would do, but the devs have said themselves that they don't like nerfing things because of the backlash it brings with it, hence why kiri never gets any big nerfs or changes, or why they increased everyone's health instead of decreasing it, or why they didn't decrease healing numbers by much. The team overall just doesn't have the courage to really just say "Screw it, we're nerfing things! Deal with it!" Which honestly is gonna make the game die faster as we get new heroes.

Role passives don't really serve a purpose except to give the devs more knobs to turn while they try to figure out how to bandaid the gap left when they nuked one of the tanks. As an example, the original support one was Mercy's self-heal for the whole support cast -- and they had to do that because access to the backline was way cheaper in a game with one tank rather than two, so supports suffered a lot. It's why their passive kind of made sense, even if it was really hamfisted. The tank passive at the time was maybe QoL, but the DPS passive was nonsense. It felt a lot like they just wanted symmetry between roles, so all of them had to have some kind of passive. The game existing around consistent effects just didn't work any more, and so they had to start carving out exceptions.

I think some characters just need different passives. like old damage passive would be sick for Venture, Pharah, Genji. Blanket Passives just ain't that good of an idea. but asking for blizzard to look at individual characters and help their gameplan/identity might just be too much work. (this is a joke at the PvE skill trees.)

I agree. They need to just look at characters and consider passive for each one, not minding if there are repeats for that specific kind of Passive. Blanket passives are a thing to start with and build the entire game around, not throw into a developed game not built for it.

If they released things every four months then they need to make a PTB (Public Test Build) so that we can give them feed back as they're working on or getting ready to release the new season, it would be better then them simply going off of data and would probably be more helpful as well

After finishing the whole video, I think you have very good ideas for what extra should come to the game, but I cant help but hard disagree about slowing down map and hero releases. The only way I’d disagree is if a hero actually releases unfinished and that’s yet to happen, the real issue it seems is that the skin pipelines aren’t being communicated the best way with launches, because we’re still getting seasons launching with hella legendaries time and time again Maps, if counted, have essentially released the same number they would have by season 11. The only reason we even have that big gap is because they keep doing back to back launches of maps. Season 2 to Season 3 were two maps and a row and then season 6 -7 were three with Flashpoint launching, which meant 2024 essentially got 4 map launches but a good portion of them were huddled up leaving a gap to wait. Slowing down doesn’t fix this, just better timing (we should probably stop dropping maps or gamemodes in the same season as a hero) I 100% agree with you on slowing down on gamemodes, if we get one every year eventually we’ll just have like 5 types of gamemodes all with 2-3 maps, that is very bad. That and I think the 5 we’re at already is fine, just flesh those out instead. Clash is fine but if it was up to me I’d stop there and focus on what we had now. It would also be easier for tournament structure I like your tournament gamemode idea, I’ve been asking for a try out button for a good while now since both mythics and weapon skins have one, but I think its important to know that balance and even events to a degree unfortunately don’t make seasons feel fresh to a lot of the community. I’d honestly argue little to nothing does, have the time people only talk about skins. Even a really fleshed out season like Mirrorwatch gets complaints in its second half for ending its event after three weeks even though just about every event ever has been that way. There is no win here, which is unfortunate because I’ll always be here for map reworks, hero reworks and general balance ideas. However, the game is fine. It’s pretty clear we’re having issues on the lore side due to January’s layoffs but I genuinely think both speeding up and slowing down hero releases would be the worst decision possible. The rate we’re at now is essentially the one OW has always had, and they’d probably lose money considering how this community often feels even just a month into a season

I missed when OW1 had an OWL section of the menu screen where you could see match scores and I’m hoping the thriving orgs get content in-game to build up our esport. If the base game marketed their esport harder we’d be a lot stronger

It's a nice idea but there's a reason only one character in the entire game has it. If there becomes a way to chain anti-healing the tanks are just gonna get overrun leading to anti vs cleanse meta or even worse shield poke meta reemerges

i think instead of damage amp it should be a new kind of beam, maybe she should have like a poison beam affect on enemys and be able to fly at enemy targets in this context so her movement feels great not limited, and that beam should need to stay on a target consistently till it get marked with a affect that maybe cuts the health pool in half or something for some time

sorry that was my rework, i guess i should’ve explained each change but discord doesn’t allow for many characters. ok, let’s start with -rez, no, the mercy would not be able to accidentally leave its range because it is a 7 meter range once the ability is active and mercy can’t travel 7 meters in .75 seconds easily. i don’t think it’s a weak ultimate at all, a fast resurrect that mercy could weave herself around and bring someone back to full? i think that’s fine as it is. -caduceus staff (amp beam): i think a distinction has to be made between pocketing long range hitscan dps (or dps adjacent to that archetype) and pocketing someone like a venture. one requires more risk on the mercy’s part to execute while the other is very safe. i think people hate the pocket a hitscan play style but don’t mind the pocket a flanker play style because the mercy can be punished when pocketing a flanker or a character that is close to the enemy team. the two separate buffs were chosen to give mercy a choice in who to pocket by making the pocket hitscan play style worse. the extra speed boost also doesn’t benefit hitscans in the same way that it would benefit a tracer. dps that are close to the enemy team would benefit more from blue beam than hitscan dps which would make them more enticing for a mercy to pocket but also more dangerous. mercy would also not be limited to dps, tanks like rein or queen would greatly benefit from that speed boost. also quick note, i meant to add a cap on how many people can be speed boosted at a time but it never went through, my bad. -valk: i do admit that i might’ve overdone it with the “bypasses all anti effects” but to be clear this doesn’t mean that it would cleanse all anti effects. only mercy would be able to bypass or reduce the anti healing while the other support would still be unable to heal the ally. it’s only mercy and it’s only for 5 seconds. that change defo needs to be revisited but i do still believe that valk as an ability is infinitely better because of what it allows mercy to do. a part why mercy was always decent was that mercy was a versatile support, but mercy lost that versatility in recent months which have pushed her to be only a damage boost bot. having valk as an ability inherently allows for more skill ceiling in mercy’s kit because of how much someone can do with valk if you are clever, it’s a very useful ult and would be a very useful ability. -guardian angel: right now when mercy does a slingshot from her ga, she has a certain amount of time that the ability will continue to remain active. during this time there is nothing the mercy can do to expedite it and the ability often wouldn’t go on cooldown even if mercy has full stopped her ga on the ground. mercy could be standing still and the ga still thinks that it is active and won’t put it on cooldown. that is why i suggested that. for the second part, micro movements are not crazy movements. that max amount of distance you will get from a micro movement currently is 5 meters at max and it sucks to get punished for expressing skill. micro movements allow for certain plays that would be very clunky other wise. i believe that it would not be hard to aim at a mercy because of the increased projectile size. mercy has a relatively big upper body due to her wings and with the bullet changes it would be much more consistent to hit her. overall, just by swapping valk and rez yiu fix the annoyance problems with tax and introduce an active ability that can be used more than 5 times in a game. valk would be a versatile ability that can be used for many situations but mercy has to chose due to a relatively long cooldown.

If you want to retain some aspect of the “bypasses all anti effects,” how about it partially ignores and heals for 50% effectiveness? That way Valkyrie soft-counters anti-heal instead of hard-countering it.

Cool base idea, but needs some work. M1: Slightly lower her HPSl (which is somewhat weak) but every 8 seconds, it does a burst of heal (like 75). The CD is per hero, to encourage switching it around. M2 Numbers may need to be nerfed but I like the base idea. I say nerf GA CD. With Valk being a baseline ability, she will get a lot more mobility and keeping GA as is may be too strong. A 5 or 6 second CD may be good, but maybe only 4 seconds can do it as well. I love this iteration of Rez. It's less frustrating and more fair and doesn't keep the "undo every other ult" nature that OG Rez had.

It has nothing to do with frequency, it's the quality, and not even like quality as in they didnt put blood sweat and tears into it but I mean quality as in it's something the community truly wants. Like we got one new hybrid map and one payload map in ow2, the rest were for crappy new gamemodes that just dont feel like the core game and most people dont like, we were bored of the same hybrid and payload maps, not bored of the gamemode so why try and reinvent the wheel? Just makes peoples needlessly annoyed with you when you have a sure fire way to make most people happy with hybrid and payload maps, and even control maps are often not received well, they usually arent received poorly like these new gamemodes but people just forget they exist while the two new maps for hybrid and payload are actually pretty beloved maps now, circle royal maybe not so much if you arent a poke enjoyer but the other one is amazing as it just has alot of narrow paths for brawl and high grounds for dive and poke giving alot of options, so just release hybrid and payload maps as adding anything else is either a net 0 or net negative, like push is pretty much universally hated from what I can tell. And now again with heros, why do they keep creating heros with stuff that's been proven to be hated? Like kiri was received well enough, shes more polarizing than anything but she has immortality, something they know we hate from bap, and than weaver only heals, which they know we hate from mercy, but I get this one because mercy is also polarizing so maybe they thought it was worth the risk like mercy is only problem is they forgot mercys only actually liked for her movement based playstyle that doesnt require god like reflexes in aiming like genji, tracer or echo, shes like the movement hero without the need to use the movement offensively which is often the hard part, I mean anyone can parkour as genji decently well, so they bascially just created mercy without the best part 😂 Than we have illari... why add a turret? You have so much dam evidence that turrets are hated... so why add another fking turret on another boring sniper hero... a sniper hero that doesnt even occupy the dps category, and instead just sits there next to ana as an easier option, like at best shes just boring and unnnecessary, at worse people hate how hard it is to push a choke with 3 sym turret, a torb turret and a heal turret with a team of orisa and friends sun tanning behind the choke waiting for you to break through so they can spam the ults theyve built watching you struggle with turrets for a min straight 😂 Than there's mauga, do I even need to explain how this hero was terrible? And how anyone with a brain would have looked at his reaper life steal, bastion guns, hog hitbox, ashe fire dot passive and orisa playstyle and told you that shiets not healthy for the game but nope they added a tank bastion, reaper hybrid with a smile on their faces as if it was the greatest thing ever. And finally venture... venture was actually pretty good, just they forgot they have 1 shotting snipers, invisible auto aim cc rats and flying military tank cannons running around so venture just doesnt really feel like they do much because like junkrat, is just countered by so many unfairly broken yet easy heros. So even if you kinda disagree with some of my points here, you cannot deny that all of these were problems and have been complained about extensively on twitter when they were happening, and considering I named every hero and map except the first 2 maps and first 2 heros (which theres controversy with soj so it honestly should have only been one) maybe the devs should rethink their hero design philosophies and go back to just makingi maps for the already established gamemodes we all liked for years. Congratulations for making it through my rant, your reward? The knowledge that were all fked if we trully believe this game can be saved~

Let's stop with any cope. The world of cope is over. Every major creator is in rage mode and the team is giggling all the way to the bank. If we want change, don't buy anything for a season. At this point I would rather the game die than to be lead on with a house of lies over and over praising below minimum effort from the team. If the team cares about the game, they will fix it after getting the message that players mean business. They are trying to force players to give them money with a new version of Mercy pink skin. That is beyond low since they have nothing to even provide for players. Its so embracing that Microsoft didn't even let OW show at games fest....

They should absolutely stop with new core gamemodes, but slowing down on new heroes and maps would be a death wish. To the vast majority OW2 has not even justified it's existence over the first, so slowing down the content cycle back to late OW1 levels would be horrible. Especially when PVE is dead and hero mastery is on life support (I really hope we get more levels). If anything, OW needs to speed up its content flow if it hopes to win back any of its reputation.

Unpopular opinion here but I loath Flashpoint, hate push and don't care for control, I just find all those game modes annoying and I feel like any new game mode they add is also going to be bad. Honestly, they could just give us hybrid and escort and I'd be happy. Like I could play kings row, Hollywood, numbani, Junker Town, Havana and blizzard world only and be completely happy. Then if they just reduce everyone's health back, give hanzo back his one shot and nerf Winston, I'd personally be happy enough, even though there's a lot of other issues with the game lol.

Hybrid, while having some fun maps (hollywood + eichenwald + kings row come to mind) is an inherently worse mode than escort/control (have you actually played blizzard world first?) 3.) Escort, while solid, isn't a top pick for me either (saying havana is a favorite is kinda nuts unless ur a widow OTP) 4.) Nerf winston??? why? 5.) Fair enough w/ hanzo and the health 6.) I just dislike the format of it because I don't like maps where you have to fight for a central point because I feel like it can make it harder to take off angles and fighting on point sometimes can feel more difficult. Although it may just be a map thing mostly because lighang tower is ok at best and I actually dislike illos so much that I call it ewwilos lol. Oasis, is sorta fun though and I don't mind playing it. although honestly I think I overall prefer 2cp if we're being honest. 2. Personally I love blizzard world first as it's my favorite part of the map, it has good sight lines and a good off angle for a flank. Ironically enough I actually really dislike Eichenwald lol. 3. I just have a lot of good memories on Havana as I've had some of my best games on that map, granted I don't always win but the games on that map are always long and high elm. 4. Where do I begin lol. Like I know my opinion on him is a bit unpopular but I feel like he just does way too much compared to any other tank. He has really high health, does a lot of damage, has waay too much mobility and a bubble shield that's that's too big. Like he's just really hard to kill and there's very little counter play to him. 5. Hopefully they'll undue it in the future 6. Fair 7. Ironically , I think colloseo is my least favorite push map, if not second least favorite.

What really bothers me in overwatch is mostly the lack of maps and "serious" gamemodes, and what I mean by that is that a lot of maps are locked behind gamemodes that we won't ever see, take 2 cp as an example, a lot of really iconic maps are completely locked behind the 2cp game mode but you can't ever play it because no one plays arcade, which sucks because that means that almost half of overwatch's maps are locked from everyone else, if blizzard can't dish out more maps it's fine, I'm sure it's not easy to design a map, but at least make it so 2cp is playable in qp, qp isn't comp, 2cp doesn't need to go back to comp but qp should be the casual overwatch experience regardless of what blizzard says, if they did that and removed the qp penalty to allow people that don't like 2cp to simply leave I believe this would be extremely healthy for overwatch's atmosphere "here are more maps and game modes in qp, if you don't like this map you can go, someone else will fill the slot, don't worry"

The issue is the investments in video games have gotten so bad a game needs half a billion to break even,mostly due to poor higher management, the money is usually misalocated and wasted on nonsense

As an adult I feel I should at least let you know that CEOs are not the reason people dont make more money. Not that I think its awesome they make 100x the person below them, but still. I wish the world was as simple as youre making it right now but it isnt. The real issue is that nobody is doing well right now. Covid destabilized the market pretty fiercly and we are feeling the effects of all of the money printing biden did in 2021. 80% of all the money that was ever printed in US history was done in ~2021. But maybe all this will just go over your heads and youll all try to argue with me about some dumb crap cause I mentioned politics, idk. Probably too dense of a discussion for an overwatch comments section lmao.

We really need each season to be 3 months instead of 2, but they release a new hero every season instead of every other season. A new hero every 4 months is too slow to maintain the hype. If they went to a new hero every 6 months, the game could die, just like we saw how OW1 was not getting any new heroes and player numbers kept going down and down.

this fixes nothing and if anything you would get worse balanced characters in the game. Lifeweaver was and still is a disaster, Mauga is fun not in the mirror but his mirror was one of the worst metas of all time and venture is pretty fun. If anything they might need more time to work on these characters before they hit live based on 2 of the last 3 results

The thing that truly matters to the ow community is skins. I wish it wasn't the case, but if the season theme is an experimental design and the skins don't hit. The whole season just dies. All the stuff you mentioned keeps people playing and enjoying the game, but 90% of my friends interaction with the game is "cool skins this season?"

Im unsure if blizzard is willing to or able to code it in the OW engine - But they could "add" an extra ability by having Right click do multiple things. E.g. Sombra "shift" goes back to old stealth, "e" is still translocator, but now "right click" does nothing on its own, but needs to be held and combined with either "left click" to hack or "e" to virus.

Before I watch this, I just wanna say all I think he needs is an improved spread like Hog got and a resource meter wraith to stay in a fight with. I don't like the idea of Reaper being a Tankbuster in 5v5, but I sure do love the idea of him being a pseudo-tank like Mei is.
