Welcome to GLEBE ROAD JUNCTION. This is a new UK based model railway set from the mid 80's to the present day.
I will be posting updates as i go along building including how to videos to help those that are unsure on how to do certain things.
I have also just recently joined the European partnership along with steve from (stroley international, england), sam at (hillside model railway, ireland), andy at portland grove, spain) and gerard at falkenstower, france. all of the above have fantastic layouts so take a look via youtube.
Omg... If you want to understand why the hobby is struggling just look at the price change since this video. That box cost under £7!!! The price for the same box now is upwards of £25!???
Wow well done mate for someone who's has never done it or made one before your 1st attempt is fantastic, and there is no way Hornby could do better or cheaper than how you have done it, I am doing the same to my system only difference is I will have power going through both system when I get it to work correctly with some added circuits boards that like you having to make from scratch. but what can I say yours has blown me away and such a great imagination in going down the root copying east coast shame Hornby haven't realised that there are so many of us out there wanting the proper system they did in the 80s they should bring it back but hell they should high you just because of what you can do and this is coming from an old fart well done !!!!!!! Ell
At around 07:37 you refer to the importance of alignment of the fixing holes which raises two questions: 1) Wouldn't a gauge tool help with the hole you are going to drill? and 2) Assuming your track gauge is 16.5, do you fix the third rail to below the modelled conductor shoe or to the correct spacing from the running rail, which looks best?
Having watched & enjoyed these video's 'first time round', your channel was mentioned recently & I have viewed these again. I have to say I had forgotten how truly realistic & inspiring your uploads were. Hope you are well & get the opportunity to share more footage. Stay Safe.
Just been searching building station platforms as I’m about to embark on that project. Absolute revelation to use plasterboard. What a brilliant idea. 👍👍👍
I would be very interested in hearing ir reading some details on how you designed built that brick tunnel entrance. Was it a kit it did you scratch build? Just watched your March 2015 update. Looks great. Thanks
Hi Terry, I subscribed to your channel a little while ago and have really enjoyed what you have done and took inspiration from your skills. Having read the comments from the last video, it's a real shame you had to destroy the layout and not carrying on with another layout. Just want to say, hope you are keeping well.
Hi Glebe Road, just a quick comment to say how brilliant this layout is ! I know it's 7yrs ago now but I've been catching up with your videos and taking in a lot of ideas. As a returning modeller i will attempt to copy this level of detail for my own layout. Very well done Sir, If I can get my layout to this standard I will be very happy !! All the best, Andy.
Hi Andy Thanks for the nice comment mate. Unfortunately i no longr have the layout due to moving house several years ago but do miss the hobby still tho. If you ever need any help of info just give me a shout as i dont mind sharing my knowledge. Thanks Terry
@@bloodmarine77 Thank you very much Terry, sad to hear the layout is no more. I will be looking through your past vid's for inspiration. Take care and stay safe. Andy
