Welcome to PowerstrokeBoiz! Everyone here is a Powerstroke Enthusiast! You like working on Ford Trucks, or anything that runs. You’ve come to the right place my Friend! ✅😎
All the forums I've read say the electric fans can't keep up with keeping the truck cool when towing. Do you tow with your truck, if so how much weight and where, mountains, desert or ? Sure looks like a lot of air restriction to me the way those fans are mounted to that sheet of metal 🤔
Can you leave the filter off the top and still run the second hose down the frame? What’s the point of the air filter? Putting mine on next week, just want to do it right.
Hey great video I have a 7.3 excursion i've been looking for an install video on kits similar to this. This video made it simple and helped me understand what's going on.
So the whole purpose of this was to one, allow all the fuel in the tank to be used, and two, better filtration/seperation of water from the fuel. Bonus addition of drain out in case of bad fuel... Could that dual port sump be used to feed a China diesel heater?
I’m thinking about adding an electric fan for the condenser. Were you happy with it? Any draw backs with wiring it to run whenever the compressor is on? Great info on the vid. Thx!
Wait so one power wire to a 12v system controls both fans? I had to do 4 seperate power wires for my 4 fan setup to work. I had the top two fans power wires wired into one and the bottom two wired into another one and the wires got hot? Now with them all separated they don’t get as warm but the ground wires to the switch setup I have do? I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong😅
Thanks for the video. My question is about the return line, is it still going to the sending unit? did you plug the line coming out at the sending unit? where did you get the plugs?
I’m a little confused for your a/c fan side of it. I have electric fans on my 6.0 but I want to do a setup with a pusher when I have the a/c on. You tapped directly to the a/c positive wire with a relay but where did you ground out the fan? Did you just ground it separately or a ground wire in the a/c harness?
I’m changing out my valve body to a John woods. Do you think that should change out how much I add? If so how much? I’ll probably just see how much came out and match that?
Nice and those 7.3 build power pretty easy with jsit a 63/73 at .83 kc stage 2 turbo and unlimited diesel stage 1.5 180/60 injectors and a jellibuilt tuned my truck made 433 hp to the tire for a basically stock obs 7.3
I'm considering a 240k mile obs with a 7.3. I would almost immediately rebuild the turbo and do a ton of maintenance then get an exhaust and tuner. Not looking to make a ton of power just a clean daily driver that makes cool sounds like my race car.
It seems like that truck would last my lifetime under my care. I'm not interested in anything newer than the early 2000s. I was a Toyota dealer tech for years I wish they had Diesel could've used the training 😂
Heard of some guys on the powerstroke forums trying the electric fan thing in the past. As I recall, it created a hell of an amp draw on their systems and cooling didn't do better than the stock fan did. The HP gain was very small to negligible too, if I remember correctly. Did you do this mod just for the hell of it (totally understand it if so) or was there another motive to it? Just curious if the expense was worth it as opposed to throwing it into trans or some other upgrades that most people seem to like doing. Really dig the intake through the front wall mod. Great idea.
Nice Video of the installation and product, but FYI you shouldn’t use the pipe dope on any part of a fuel system, tape only reason being, is the it is not compatible to the fuel.
I didn’t use “ pipe dope “. FYI you should look up PTFE is suitable for Fuel/Diesel 😇. Why I haven’t had one leak using it, even with twin fuel pumps now 😙
I've been wanting to add a stack to my '02 EX for a long, long time. Watching your video has reignited that flame. As soon as this powerhouse outtage circuit is done, my baby is getting a face lift.
Im about to stack my ‘00 zf6 speed on a 6 inch RC lift with the 06’ front end all color matched white sitting on 7s and 6s. Been wanting to do mine for 2 years, Im going to try and fabricate a 4inch up pipe off the turbo. The velocity stack inspired me, Im going to fabricate a dodecagon and throw a 30 degree cut on it!
I have a upgraded trans cooler and I put 6 3/4 transition fluid in it and it says it’s to much when it’s cold but when it is hot it says it’s the right amount. Should I pay attention to when it’s cold or hot?
by placing restrictions and regulations on oil companies killing pipe line projects, costing 11000 union workers their jobs on his first day in office pushing his bullshit green deal and stop the oil shit need any more? fuck joe and the hoe
