Damn. Well you need it of course to revert back to an airbag wheel. I actually bought a spare so I could use the plugs to make an airbag resister. They are readily available, I bought my spare from eBay. 👍
Yea I know its a dumb question 😅, was just thinking not a lot of electronics in the wheel now lol.. i found one on Ebay and will harvest for plugs found an airbag resistor so should be ok looking for the brass horn plate
Great video! A 996 in white is awesome! Always nice to hear what’s in other Porsche fans minds 😅 Got a C2 3.6 manual myself since a month. I am trying hard not to indulge myself in too many mods. Planning to keep it original, besides the Ohlins r/t installed that made a great car totally amazing😊 Totally agree with keeping the brakes quite stock will suffice even on track. Put on race/sports pads and racing fluid and u r good to go. Tracked my previous Cayman S several times and proper brake skills out do bigger brakes any day.
Awesome video! i have a question, what did you do with the airbag light? did u use a part which will make the car thing there is an actual airbag so it will turn off? I would love to hear!
Just fitted new dashboard and rear speakers and thanks to your guidance it was really easy and has made a significant improvement to the sound even with the original head unit. Do you have any plans to replace the door speakers? Thanks Rob.
I was going to leave the door speakers ‘as is’ as they seem to sound ok. If I hear a car with them changed and it’s a significant upgrade then maybe I will!
Looking to do mine. Not sure if go for B8,s Bilstin shocks as well as springs. Or just springs on my shocks. Just had mot shocks and not all good. Same me £1000. All I want really is just a little lower.
@@viperautovalet4479 a lot of the cost is in the labour, so just be sure your shocks are good before going to the effort of re-assembly. If the shocks are good they will perform well with the new springs.
@@TheThrottleCable with a couple of good mechanics who are mates. Will be doing it with them in my workshop on my 2 Post lift. Dinner all on me. Pricing up parts at the moment with Design 911. Also just ordered 15mm spacers All round.
This is what I’m looking to do with my 1999 C4. Shocks seem all good but I’m thinking of putting new B4 shocks on mine. But watched you video and think don’t need to.
Handy video, thanks! Any reason you went for 4-ohm speakers instead of the original 2's? I'm guessing it doesn't matter so much if you change them all at once?
@@TheThrottleCable Actually, I've literally just been tearing the car down and am mid-way of installing the PCCM Plus, I took the front dash speaker out as part of the cable routing and noticed it's a 4ohm unit, that makes my life a *lot* easier, looks like I'll be following your guide even more closely after-all :) I also purchased one of the Bose rear parcel shelf bass boxes, which looks like it'll be possible to wire into this amp too, so hopefully this is going to sound great when it's finished! :)

You just unscrew the two hex bolts on the retaining brackets either side underneath the spoiler. Then you hinge the spoiler up to change the position of those same retaining brackets. The retaining brackets use an additional fastener only on their lowest setting position 1 (put that fastener somewhere safe if you’re moving to position 2 or 3). 👍
Sorry, I don’t have the answer; personally I’ve only used my helmet for karting or passenger rides in an enclosed cabin so it’s unnecessary for me. I thought the spoiler was just stuck on with double sided tape - is that not the case?
Sure, desirable wheels. Seems you already have interest on here anyway 😁 I assume they are for a narrow body? Feel free to share a price, location, part numbers etc
So so pleased to see you back! - Done the yellow film on the headlights, the Continental radio and speaker upgrade, smaller front plate - console delete on hold due to absolutely stupid costs - Arena red wheels with a silver band may well appear after this video - many thanks, and keep the content coming!
I saw the new look of your car and thought it looks less motorsport inspired....and then you said exactly this. I tend to not like white cars with the exception of a g body car.....and the 9x6 cars too. It's looking super smooth. I do love them on ambers but with the all white paintwork, it looks superb on clears. Looking forward to seeing your car again. Maybe at Flat 6?
Nice to have a new video Rob. Excellent work on the new wheels, but the Motorsport look wins for me. But it's always good to change things up for a bit 👍🏻
This is fantastic. I wanted to do the exact same thing to my Ocean Blue Metallic 996 but I have 17inch wheels which don't have the ridge just outside the spokes which you used as the silver/white dividing line. You have done a fantastic job with great attention to detail as always. This video has been great inspiration to take another look.
Couple of points. The new speakers have inbuilt tweeters so it’s not necessary. Also the new speakers are a step forward in terms of performance, so linking in old tweeters would likely negatively impact the resulting sound.
My car came with one of these silicone hoses - the only time there is a difference in sound is at 5k where intake howl is loud. I think the factory set up is better, sound is more constant over the RPM range. I took mine off and back to stock. If anything I might do a Fister mod for a bit more sound, I already have 200 cell cats with stock cans and it sounds great.
I agree that the change is only subtle; I had to take my silicone hose off as it interfered with the deck lid. I kept the resonator delete cap as that is what really seems to make the difference. 👍
Anyone know if this solution (I mean the speaker connections and speakers etc) will work for a Bose system conversion? I know that it will not solve for the door speakers… but hoping this can update/upgrade my dash and rears. I already added the PCCM+ head unit.
@@TheThrottleCable I have heard that both dash speakers and both rears are 2 Ohms. Is that your understanding? If so, and I was able to find speakers with that, then I would just need to make sure that they had the same/similar depth and dimensions of the ones you have confirmed to fit?
@@davidpatterson5447 to double check just take a speaker out - the ohm will be printed on the rear of the magnet. Then it will just be a like for like swap with the correct ohm speaker to work with the existing setup.
