Can you imagine coming across that and deciding that yelling at the fallen child to get out of your way is the move… It’s so wild to me that so many people were just standing there and the one guy who does the bare minimum to qualify for a decent person is compared to ski patrol? Is that really where we’re at fkk it’s so disappointing…. Ski patrol is for emergencies. Helping a fallen child and giving them some advice like, “I know it feels lame on the bunny hills but that is where you need to learn all these skills little man, we all started there, I started there, you need to be there because this is dangerous buddy. What if a grown up didn’t see you and hit you while you’re stuck like this? You’d end up in the hospital. That’s scary I’m scared for you. I promise you that you’ll be taking this run in no time with practice. Don’t give up.” That would take literally 90 seconds. From getting to him to saying that and him going on his way. To the bunny hills. Where he can learn safely.
"i gotta do everything for this kid, i am not going back up there to pick his little ass up again. He can throw his tantrums and sit there, but god damnit im gonna enjoy my vacation this time"
I’m a dad of all boys and I can tell you exactly what was happening. He was standing still because he fell asleep from pure exhaustion and had no idea he was in the slopes. In that exact moment, he was dreaming that he was back at work and all the problems in the back yard that need sorting and the dishes that piled up because his wife is super pregnant and hasn’t been able to be on her feet, so now he has to man up and be mom for the next three months and he’s just pooped. Then he woke up and thought, “wow, I’m surprised he hasn’t fallen!” Maybe that’s just me. I dunno.
how does that father not feel pathetic as a man? isnt the entire pirpose of fatherhood embodied in moments like this? how can you stand there and watch another man do your job?
I know the situation very well and have already helped many children. I am a skier *and* a kindergarten teacher and I think I can see when children need help on the piste and when they can help themselves. It's nice when you can help - but it's difficult when unfamiliar parents trust that their child will be helped. My daughter also learnt to ski with me - and if she was too far away from me and fell and others were quicker to help her, I always thanked them. That's the least I could do! It's a shame that it obviously didn't happen here. Thank you for helping.
1000% snowboarder's fault. Easy right carve when skier and kid come into view. In fact, they're in view the whole time. Squid behavior, and could have been worse.
I would say half of each, i think cutting the entire run is bad but also going that quick while everyone is going a slower is also pretty bad. Not 100% your fault.
i remember when i was 8 i wiped out when on a blue with some older siblings and cousins. they all laughed and left me behind - not necessarily being mean spirited, as i was a good skier and they prob thought i was fine - but i wasnt able to get my skiis back on due to snow being all over them and i started bawling. i remember a young couple stopped and helped me get up, and then i walked down the hill by myself, bawling. even if kids can 'figure things out' - and at that age i was already going on double blacks - it can be really scary to be by yourself, in all that heavy equipment, in the snow.
Upgrade your misuse of the term ‘price point’ and speak proper English: just say ‘price’. Price point is a technical term and is not a synonym for price. See, if you do it right, you save the weight of all those unnecessary electrons and help keep my blood pressure down. And you’ll sound like you know what you’re talking about.
I didn't really judge at first. My parents didn't ski but took me to the mountain anyway. When I was his age I just went up alone and figured it out. But if I was the dad no way I would just let the kid be stuck and frustrated and worn out like that. That's messed up IMO. It's way past the kid figuring it out and turning into a negative experience that might make him stop trying or wanting to learn.
This was so brilliantly done!!! Great job!! You're easy to follow, loved your set up on this video. Just ran the damn Hyrox in NY!! KICKED my ass good!! Loved it tho...I agree it's the tougher of the 2 FOR SURE!! Had to go into survival mode last 30 min😫😫🤠🤩
Just make an effort.. its a potential life threatening sport & young ones need help & guidance, an for a stranger to stop an help - requires a Thank You kind sir.. ffs tighten up people.
Gotta pay for an early morning spot and then get a late start time. They let you go later up to the last wave. They just won’t let you go earlier than your designated start time
