Just a guy from Maine talking guns, knives, tomahawks, outdoor gear, and nature. How-to videos, shooting videos, demo videos, and honest reviews of the stuff I use. Sharing a little of my world with yours.
did it come with a screen protector on it. the quick start guide Step 1 shows removing a plastic screen protector? I just received mine, but honestly can't tell if one is on it or not.
@LibertyInChrist502 my alpha stealth didn't have one but the red/ black did. The one that had one had pre printed kind of false lcd screen and it easily came off. If yours doesn't look like there's anything on the screen there likely isn't. Hope this helped.
Luminox has gone downhill. Got a 3583 and the chrono doesnt come back to 12 when resetting (stops at 11) and there is light fogging underneath the crystal in certain conditions. I've also heard that they've been notoriously difficult to deal with when sending pieces off to get serviced, plus tritium replacement is no longer covered in the lifetime warranty. I like Luminox, but I sense the company has lost the reputation for making quality pieces.
Provided that you have already removed the retaining screw it sounds to me (without being there) that you have a stuck wedge pin. There are a couple great videos on RU-vid on how to get that taken right care of. We have never done a video on it as I haven't as of yet encountered it. When you do get it out, and you WILL I definitely recommend you give that thing some bore butter when reinstalling it so she doesn't seize up on you again. Just be patient and get some direct force on the wedge itself so that you don't damage the revolver. As I said though, if you just look up how to get a stuck wedge pin out on an 1850 army revolver, you'll find one or two helpful videos here on RU-vid. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
The Apache-46 watch does not adjust the backlight brightness - in LCD mode from L=01 to L=10 the backlight brightness is weak and does not change. The battery is normal. Is this a malfunction or a trick in the settings? Thanks to everyone who answers.
I was able to get 3 rounds touching in a clover pattern at 50 yards in my PWS MK111 and a PA 3x prism. So would be slightly under 1 moa at 100. Will be my new go to load for this caliber
The AKs were not zeroed properly. Also at a 100 yards you use the Belt hold for a center mass shot. Pretty impressive. Thank you for your work. Keep it up.
the inline capper I'm pretty sure I got from wal- mart and the range rod was cut down from a full size I picked up on Track of the Wolf. Hope that helps.
Shoot, I've had that for like 20 years maybe more but I think it was either Kittery Trading Post (up here in Maine) or Track of the Wolf. It really is a great design and once you let the valve close you've got like a quarter inch of solid brass between the powder throw and the horn body. This is why I have to chuckle at the folks saying its a hand grenade. It's literally designed to replace a separate powder measure. If you can find one I definitely recommend them. Best of luck and happy shooting.
unfortunately I had this watch for a little while and then sold it when I decided to get into a Suunto Core. I never had to change the battery. I am really sorry I cant help.
@stuart4341 thanks. And no worries, it wasn't a Bible, just very like one. And I saw it laying on top at the dump when I made a trash run where someone threw it in the garbage. I figure this way, at least it is being displayed with fond memories on a shelf rather than rotting in a dump since it is an older book. I would never shoot an actual Bible, my friend, rest easy on that one. I'm an American, and feel very strongly that you never disrespect a Bible or an American flag. God, Family, Country, this we'll defend. 🤙
@CertifiedPre33 daaaang, they really are super hard to find. I held onto this one, and i'm glad I did. Still not my favorite flipper, but darn, they are cool blades.
I purchased the Master Carbon SEAL Automatic, 45 mm, Military Dive Watch - 3863 just over a month ago and have to say it is probably my favourite watch at the moment and it is incredibly accurate, only gaining 2-3 seconds per day which is well within COSC specs. Definitely going to purchase the Black Skunk model in the near future.
@TheMaineiacguy Meant to thank you for one of the best real life watch reviews I have seen. The fact you put it underwater in mucky water for an hour was brilliant and a true test of the resilience of Luminox watches. Thanks, keep up the good reviews.
I've just gone back to the KaBar due to age and arthritis (73 years).now that I've gotten used to using it again I'm ready to hone the edge. I could use some advice. I'm inEllsworth Falls are you nearby or can we speak via phone? Excellent video. Andrew Geraghty
@andrewgeraghty4708 I'm actually a number of hours south of you down in the midcoast area. As far as getting a good clean edge, to be honest, it's really tough to beat the work sharp electric sharpeners. They make a few of them, and really they're all just great, in my opinion. They are like a mini belt grinder, super easy to use and super compact. It's what I use. I hope that helps. Have an amazing day.
Hey , I’m a g-shock user , tomorrow I go to but the suunto core all black , I feel like finally I find I what I’m looking for .. I hope I will not doing a mistake …
I'm still loving both mine. I will always say a g shock is a good watch because mine always did good by me, but I love my Suunto Cores because of the data they give me along with the toughness. May yours serve you well.
With the 7.62X39 I believe with irons they tell troops to aim toward the gut in order to get an upper chest hit. Just the way they teach them because of the rounds' trajectory. Food for thought in the future.
Very well made video....one of the best that I have seen on these watches. I just got a great deal on the 3003 with the blue face. This will be my second Luminox and I have nothing but great things to say about these watches so far!
I have watched a few thousand of these videos and this was one of the best. Hope you have a hungry dog for that ham you sacrificed . Ribs too. Great review
Thank you so very much! It definitely means a ton. My son and I have a great time putting content together and it is an amazing feeling knowing that folks enjoy it. Have a good weekend, and thanks again for watching.
I'm still using both of these and they are holding up great. Some minor chipping in the black on the blade of the standard M21 but I use it hard and the blade itself is sound. CRKT makes a solid knife in my opinion.
Love these especially with conversion cylinders. A variant of ghost guns. Conversion cylinders for certain models are hard to find and very popular for that reason. I'm still waiting on a 1/250 batch being made by taylor&co for 45 colt drop in cylinder for the 1860 army.
