Hi friends! Welcome to my channel! I am a 55 year old woman who has been watching and enjoying RU-vid for years! I finally got the courage up to start my own channel! When I started my channel, I had envisioned it would be like one of my favorite women's magazines. Containing a little beauty, fashion, red light(I am so interested in what this can do!!), anti aging products (especially for the neck!!) vlogs, product reviews, lifestyle, etc.! You name it!! I have fun creating varied content for you and I hope there is something on my channel that you will enjoy! I am really excited about this stage in my life and I want to share all of that with you! Hi Tina! I agree…Walmart clothing has really improved quality the quality of their clothing line. You picked such cute pieces & they looked great. Love the denim dress it was so pretty. My immediate thought was to dress it up/go through the fall would be pairing it with a cognac bag & footwear, then when you said that I chuckled 🤣 Thank you for doing the swimsuit/ coverup try on, you looked fabulous. I am 40D & have a hard time anymore finding a well fitting swimsuit that has the right amount of support without it being too padded. I have found tankini styles aren’t too bad either. Hi Marie! That is too funny about the boots! lol! Gosh I wish we lived closer to shop together!! How much fun could we have?! I am glad you have found some tankinis that you like. I have struggled finding tankinis recently that work for me. It always seems that the elastic on the bottoms digs into my stomach making this unattractive "muffin top" and then you can see it right through the tank part. And when I have tried sizing up in bottoms, with my flat butt,(way too much extra fabric back there!) that doesn't work either! Lol! Oh, the bathing suit struggles! 😂 I am still deciding what I want to keep from this order, because do I need anything, NO! Lol! I know exactly what you mean; it’s like trying to find the Goldilocks out there in the swimsuit quest 🤣 I took a huge chance on the Lascana site & luckily it worked out. And it was on sale for a reasonable price..bonus! That is so funny, can’t go wrong with any or all of the pieces you tried. Stay cool too! Weather has been crazy here, mid-upper 90s most days & possibly 100 on Tuesday. Yikes, 20 yr old me would’ve loved this lol. Hope you have a wonderful & relaxing weekend 🥰
I always get my nails done with the dip powder and a pedicure .. it lasts me a month. No chipping no lost nail. I pay 60 for both so it’s worth it to me .. especially since I’m working now! I’ve never been able to do those kits! And I used to be a nail tech years ago!
Robin, that is an awesome price! I know for sure I can't find anything that reasonable around here! I do have questions on the dip. Is that like acrylics?
@@tinasbestmidlife it is an acrylic dip but I don’t get tips. I get it directly over my nails.. and they remove it every time I go back and my nail bed is not damaged! I love it!
I have a question! Do you have a recommendation on a good makeup brush like a fluffy crease brush? Seems like when I put my eye makeup on I can’t blend my eyeshadow.. seems to stop and not blend easily back and forth.. it could be my shadows.. but I have tried several shadows. I usually don’t buy extremely expensive shadows though. But I do try Colour Pop!
Hi Robin! I am going to look at my brushes and see if the ones I like are still available. I honestly have never invested much money in any of my eyeshadow brushes. But they seem to work well for me. As far as high end eye shadow as compared to drugstore. I have used both and I have to say, with most good drugstore brands, I don't think there is that much difference. Some people might disagree with me, but I think Colorpop makes some really nice eyeshadows. I am wondering if an eyeshadow primer might help the blending?? And for that I do not have a good recommendation.
@@tinasbestmidlife I have tried several primers like milani and elf and urban decay.. I’ve tried just my concealer too.. I watch so many eyeshadow videos and just cannot get mine to do what other people do! I just need to get a color stick I like and just do one shadow!

I went to Walmart after seeing this on Thursday. The denim dress was in the store; nothing else. All their pants were wide and long. Because you are tall, everything looked great.

Do red led lights work? I have this led light I but on my wall for aesthetik reasons and I can choose only red light ofcourse, I ask myself wrther its any good?
What kind of light do you have? Just a red light is not the same as red light therapy device. A red light bulb on a Christmas tree(for example) is not going to have the same effects as an LED panel or mask that contains red light in certain wavelengths. Obviously, I believe red light panels and masks work because I have seen the benefits in my own skin. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

Hi Shirlee! I am happy this video could be encouraging! I'm a little bit obsessed with red light. Lol! It is still my favorite "anti-aging" device and I could never give it up. It is very interesting you said you are using it partly for SAD. I am going to read more about that. I love learning about all the wonderful things it can help and I will say, I always just feel relaxed after doing a treatment. I think that is one reason I have been very consistent. Hi Susan. If my butt or privates were hanging out of these shorts, then I would agree with you. But I assure you, they are not. If you are saying they are too short for me because of my age, then I respectfully disagree. As I am getting older, how I feel in my clothes has become one of the most important factors when getting dressed. I feel good and confident in those shorts. So for me, they are not too short. If they aren't for you, I can understand that. I am going to continue to support other women wearing whatever makes them feel good and confident, even if what they choose might not be for me. So maybe our philosophies differ on this and that's fine. I just wanted to share how I feel. Thank you for watching.
@@tinasbestmidlife I am 67. I have great legs. But after seeing my self in shorts an short skirts. I realized they just didn’t look good on me anymore. I still wear shorts and skirts. Just not as short as I did 3 yrs ago. To each their own🤷♀️
My nails have become much thinner as I have gotten older and regularly split but I hate doing my nails. Regular manicures help keep them from splitting along with using Dashing Diva press on nails between manicures. My manicurist turned me on to the Dazzle products and the system does help keep the nail polish on longer between manicures and seems to prevent my nails from splitting. It is time consuming to do at home and it is not my go to every time. I alternate between doing the Dazzle process and using Dashing Diva press on nails. It is a lot of money but both products help keep my nails from splitting. I have been to a nutritionist and a doctor and take all the appropriate supplements.

I just found out that a local nail salon does Dazzle dry manicure and I am thinking that having a professional do them, it would probably make a big difference. I am so curious about the press on nails! I see so many women wearing them and they look so great! I don't know why I am afraid to try! Do you have any tips?
@@tinasbestmidlife The nail bed needs to be really clean and dry. Try not to get too close to the cuticle, and use a really sharp nail clipper that is almost as wide as the top of your nail to trim off the excess. Follow directions on the insert, then I use a base coat followed by 2-3 top coats. I reapply top coat every other day. Mine generally last for 2 weeks. Use a flossing stick to get them off, the same kind you would use on your teeth. Really great for traveling.
I’m getting a new red light therapy for a healthier me. My question is, do you feel the need to lower your head to aim the light at a certain part of your neck or face or does it just seem to work sitting perfectly still in one place thank you again your video was very, very helpful

Obviously, I really love red light and am so happy I learned about this a few years ago. Now onto your question. I know what you mean about maybe not getting light to certain spots, like under the chin. I don't do it every time, but sometimes I slowly move my face up and down and side to side to try and hit all the spots. But sometimes I am lazy and just sit there! lol! I

Very pretty! I like the polished look when you tuck in the white top to show the green skirt but I really like the outfit with it untucked. The same with the red print top. I want the outfit and I want to tuck it in if it stays in because it’s my comfort zone and sweet spot but You look great with tops both ways

I haven’t begun a channel yet because I truly don’t know what area of my home to dedicate to filming and using. I may buy a she shed and doll it all up really girly someday. I like what I like about clothes and fashion in general. I’m not. Trendy guru I’m simple and classic with a Boho edge I do my own makeup which isn’t really fancy but it’s my personal routine. I admire all of you who have channels. I know that almost everyone i watch has had this conversation at one time to address the mean comments and all the Karen’s out there and there just isn’t a single good reason for it other than their own unhappiness and maybe jealousy is what i figure. But I enjoy your channel and truly know that what you present and promote are things that you believe in because I couldn’t imagine you pretending to like something that you don’t like at all. Did that happen to you? I’m doing well. Getting ready for knee replacement surgery in 3 1/2 weeks. I have exercises they require me to do. How’s everything going with you?

Free Assembly is doing so many nice 100% cotton tops. I love the black linen blend shorts! Give me all the elastic! The denim dress is stunning. Though it's set on 73, it's registering 78 inside. I called our AC people, and they said it's normal when the temps have been over 100° for at least a week, and there's no end in sight. I just love navy and white together. Those white pants, what a surprise they were long enough for you, I loved them! Hi Nancy Anne! The brush cleaner doesn't seem to leave any residue for the amount of times I have used it. It is vanilla scented and you can smell that the first time using after cleaning, but it does seem to dissipate pretty quickly. I hope you and Alex are doing well. Sending love my friend ❤️
Hi Sean. I have to be honest. I go back and forth thinking using my red light without goggles is a good idea. So even though sometimes I do use my panel without goggles, I really have noticed any changes.
I cried with you during this video. I share some of the same sentiments. And I have my parents here and although we don’t get a long 100% of the time you helped me realize that their time is closer than I realize. Hi Tina, Thanks for sharing your product reviews. I am most interested in the makeup brush cleanser. I agree, it's a time consuming process. I have never tried a body makeup product. My body skin does not react favorably with self tanner and I have tried a few. For that reason, the Westmore product is something that I wouldn't' try. I 100% think you should get the #4 flutter sleeve top. It is not trying too hard at all! Your smile and face brightened up in that top like no other. Your arms and decollettage are in great shape. This top is a wonderful option for you!
I have always had good luck with the Sally Hanson Airbrushed Legs. I have a lot of veins and it does do a good job covering them up and does not transfer to clothes. But yes, it's also hard to get off, but I think that's a plus. Otherwise, it would get all over your clothing.
Hi Tina! I have been using a weighted vest for the past couple of months too (only 8 lbs and that seems heavy!). I love the idea of your vest with the weights you can add. I'll look into that! Ive been reading and watching a lot of videos on Menopause and bone density and just recently started on HRT (better late than never!) and am amazed at how much better I feel! I have and love the Loreal lip balm and need to try the Fenty Stick foundation. This summer I've been wearing (and also loving) the Wet n' Wild tinted Hydrator and e.l.f.'s halo glow blush...both perfect for the hot and humid weather we've had. I gotta tell you, I have tried and tried to like Lume' but it's just not for me. I've done the detox before using and I just feel like it doesn't work for me. I wish it did because I love the idea 😢 I have also used the Westmore Beauty Body Coverage protector (with the purchased brush) and it does not cover everything up like they show in their ads. Plus it's very makeup like and heavy as you said. Ive had better luck with the Sally Hansen Airbrush legs (the lotion, not the spray). It's much more affordable and not as heavy and makeup-like. It doesn't rub off either (although you do have to use oil to get it off) Bacarat Rouge 450 is my very favorite fragrance (and I'm super sensitive to fragrance) but it's way too spendy for me so I get the dupe from Dossier. It smells exactly like the real thing. That just goes to show that we are all different when it comes to fragrances! Have a great week!
Hi Sallie! I have not tried the Halo Glow Blush! I am thinking I would love it. (adding to shopping list now! lol!) I remember trying the Sally Hansen in the spray can years ago and I didn't like it. The Lotion does sound better. Do they even sell that in stores anymore or do you have to order from Amazon? And what shade do you like? I think we are similar skin tones. Ok, so I have to tell you, I just ordered a sample of the 'real" Baccarat Rouge 540 from a site called Scent Decant where you can order little samples of real perfumes. I am so excited to try the real deal! I will let you know. Oh before I go, of course you are doing the weighted vest thing too! I think you follow Dr. Mary Claire Haver on Instagram too, don't you? I love how she explains things and I also read her book - The New Menopause. It is excellent. I also went on HRT almost a year ago and oh my goodness! I feel like myself again!! Hi Pam! Mainly I use panels, but it's really just a personal preference. A lot of the masks you can still place on your neck to treat. I have found the longer you own a mask the more flexible it becomes and it is easier to manipulate and treat your neck. I hope that helps!

Wow! That's amazing that you can walk with a 16lb weighted vest. I've been incorporating more weight workouts in my routine. So important for bone health. Tina, have you tried the About Face foundation? It's so nice, reasonably priced, and the color matches are great. It's a beautiful light to medium coverage foundation. It's my tops for the summer. I need to try the Cinema Secrets blush cleaner. It looks quick and easy. I didn't love the Prequel Gleanser, so I gave it to Bruce (he has oily skin) and he absolutely loves it. Their sunscreen is nice, but unfortunately, it doesn't play well with foundation. So I save it for no makeup days. I love the Baccarat Rouge 540. It's my go to cold weather scent. You need so very little. I've not tried a dupe version. I don't find the original to be overly sweet. What do you think your best find is as a RU-vidr? Thanks, my sweet little sis. The About Face foundation is available at Ulta. Very reasonably priced. I don't think that the Baccarat Rouge 540 is overly sweet. More like a musky, woodsy fragrance, with a touch of sweetness. I got mine on sale at Nordstrom. I ordered it online. There's free shipping and free returns. I did find the Gleanser to be too drying, but it's great for Bruce's skin. There have been fireworks every night since last weekend. Enough is enough. I don't know how much more Simon can take. I hope that they're finally finished. I tried the Lume solid a few years ago, and it smelled awful! I couldn’t stand myself with it on! Thought I’d gotten a bad batch so I tried a sample last week from Walmart. You’re right! They’ve changed something (thank goodness)! Great video, Tina!!!!

I don't have that brand body makeup but I cut the one I use with lotion so it's more natural looking. You could try that. I think it comes off easier too
Hi Tina, I love this type of video and I have not tried the body makeup, dazzle dry or the body mist dupe. Here's my take though. I suspect you did everything right and it's not you. It seems like any kind of body makeup has not been what I'd hoped. The Dazzle Dry seems too good to be true and I'm guessing it is. Essie's system along with OPI's long wear system are the longest wearing I've tried but they aren't a holy grail. Perfumes are my weak spot and I am the first to say, the dupes are never what they seem. I love BR 540 and invested in the real thing. It's top 5 for me. 10/10. The closest I've found is Ariana Grande Cloud and it's not the same but nice. I tend to spend more on niche fragrances and I love vanilla too. It's my favorite note and so many fantastic vanillas out there but it's hard to get it right in the lower priced category. They smell artificial and chemically often so I spend more on them. Hi Kim! You are probably right about the body makeup, but I can't help the feeling I still need to try and make it work. I always think, "what is wrong with me that so many other people love it?" Lol! My go to are the Essie Gel Couture nail polishes. I have the best luck with them. What OPI one do you find is pretty good? Thank you so much for the input on the body mist. I feel like I need to smell the real deal! You are so right about cheaper fragrances and they vanilla being just "off'. Some things you just have to spend more for. Hi Tina! I love Lume. I use the solid stick deodorant in toasted coconut and love it. I have used the deodorant for over a year. I recently purchased the solid bar for the shower for the delicate areas and am really liking it for those areas. Thanks for sharing your faves, not sure about and your fail.
