I grew up here as a lot of us did and when I tell you it was hard it was hard. It wasn’t the village that made it hard but the people that grew up there thinking that the only way to make it was by living by a code that put a lot of our family and friends behind bars or 6ft under. I’m happy that the light of the village is there to help try to steer the kids and adults in a different direction.
I grew up in prichard in the Alabama village and I will be 60 tomorrow and thank God that I made it . prichard has always been a Bad place I pray for prichard.

Wow, I grew up in eastligh near St teresas church, most of my childhood freinds were from matharee some of them are either dead or in jail. The struggle was real, but the love was authentic. What a beautiful inspirational story. God bless you guys. Tariq is a blessing to all of us ❤

Broadway wasn’t always the big country music touristy area that it is now. I remember when the only things that were down there on lower Broadway was Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Tony Alamo Boots, prostitutes, and homeless people. The homeless population was bigger before they built Riverfront Park. I can see hip hop evolving to be a bigger segment of music there. A lot of us who were born and raised there didn’t even listen to country music. Most of us also lived in the neighborhoods that were gentrified so we were forced to move as the property values went up. I guess gentrification is one way to address the “undesirables” and crime.
They got Hamas, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Russia, China and the useless United Nations. They also received hundred million of dollars from the West and EU. While the FBR only got some financial support from private donations. Na, None!! The Palestinian does not need any thing from FBR.
