My biggest acheivement in 2019 classic was taming Humar the Pridelord. Waited for days in that tree and ruined my leveling speed but I didnt want him very much lower than me. I still have him on my Cata classic Hunter :)
I discovered this island when playing on a private server as a child. It was fun to see it transformed as a shopping hub. Same goes for the old Mount Hyjal or the little lake on top of Elwynn Forest. That was good old time
Tbf, this guy was only ever designed as a measure to prevent people from helping others with those quests. Blizz could have also just insta killed anyone who tried to help but decided to make it a little more fun with a special NPC. it would be essentially the same as a GM summoning a giant murloc as a boss.
i saw "The Cleaner" and just knew i had to watch and enjoy the nostalgia. though i DID find ways to help my friends and even the other faction without triggering The Cleaner while dealing damage to their quest mobs.
I was playing horde back in the day, saving up for the Ivory Raptor and the riding skill. I was stupid enough to wait with the mount until I had enough for both it and the skill. Then they patched it out and I sat there forced to get the stupid Swift Orange Raptor instead. I know I would never have traded it in with the Sharper Claws quest cause I wanted it to go with my priest's white hair, pale skin and hopefully full Faith. It's almost 20 years ago and I'm still ever so salty. At the very least I still have a copy of Recipe: Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops so that's a small consolation.
Removing Item's like this is actually bit by bit removing the Soul of classic since classic was never meant to be an esport and it was never meant to be all about numbers, instead it was meant to be a magical adventure witch could mean you could find unfair items and some classes were unfair in som areas.
Yea O.G classic wow will never comeback, they changed a lot in classic 2.0, I mean, just the talent tree by our rdrood (innervate must be skilled and got his change around prepatch) the only reason to put a rdrood in a raid was cuz of innervate and there was no slot for kitty, boomking, or tank bear cuz priest's needed the innervate :D
They did many changes in compare to the o.g classic in 2004 with classic 2.0 ... the talent trees (inntervate had to be skilled) sadly but the classic which comes out in 2018 (unsure about the right year) were not the same as in 2004 many many changes and it was realy sad for some1 who want to play the O.G classic
This is why content should never be removed, because somethings should be preserved and accessible in the digital space. Quests are just neat for zones.
I've been on a set quest treadmill for ages now, up to level 15, at which point quests stop, dungeon leveling begins. And its sad. I am contemplating rolling a character and doing ALL quests like when I first started, and doing filler dungeons as I do. See if it can re-spark the love I had for this game to the now -fill-my-day with some wow. It's become empty and shallow, due to the lack of players actually interacting over 'solo' mentality.
I think it would be rad if they looked at this old bug for inspiration to add a turncoat system to let people play their chosen race on the opposite faction, and making it so the moment you hit neutral with the enemy faction’s city, your character is officially now part of the other faction
If he was immune to melee then why not get a warlock to tank him? Demonology warlocks with armour buffs can take a lot of damage - Just have a few extra on hand in case they get crit/crushed to death
On turtle wow you can become Inferno (at lvl 55 you get offered a quest you need to do before 60 which has you go through around 8+ dungeons) and are killable at 60; if you dont do this quest you will ding 60 and get the Immortal title but become ironically, mortal. One time i saw a 60 Inferno Shaman die to the Cleaner in the Plaguelands 😮 the server went nuts.
Still have Rhok'delar on an incredibly old hunter character. I had no idea he could be kited to capital cities. Not sure how they accomplished that with something that moved that fast and was completely unstoppable, but if there's a will, there's a way!
You don't kite The Cleaner himself, you kite the demons from the hunter quests, then when you get to the city, you have someone interfere and The Cleaner then spawns inside the city
Not sure the statement "While players who already did this will never receive the mount" is entirely accurate. At one point, I was unfriendly with the faction around (maybe?) BC/WotLK. Not sure when, but one day I logged in and was neutral with them, so I got the mount. Didn't farm it on an alt either. I faction-changed in Legion, not sure if that had something to do with it, because I forget how long ago I got the mount at this point.
main reason that ashbringer wasnt brought back in the dragonflight version of naxx is that it's a scaled version of the Wrath version, with many of the vanilla fights altered for their wrath counterparts.
From the rear side of the caverns of time, you could access with a little of effort, jumping here and there, I went inside taking pics and having fun marvelled by how cool the interior was, of course I stepped on an unfinished part and I fell onto the infinite 😅 and I had to contact a DM who scolded me but nothing happened to me. It was fun, but at the same time I never understood why they got upset because you explore content that was already in the game.
So many great quests and other things in the old world that were simply 'removed' in Cataclysm, replaced with quests and changes that aged far worse, for short term benefits. You could probably count on one hand, at best, the things worth talking about from the revamped zones, dungeons, etc.
