My problem is in northern Alberta we are in the Rv at -10 to -30 Celsius. So the external heat is nice but with out the furnace running my pipes will freeze up damn quick
This video helped me so much! Your attention to detail & different options for the drain, the shower curtain hooks & hose placement was fantastic! I hope that giving a shout out to that little portable shower got you paid. They should be one of your sponsors. Thanks again!
I think most AC units this size will overload the Honda. I make sure all electrical items are off and generator is running with "eco" mode off when first turning the AC on. After the AC starts, I can turn the Honda "eco" mode on. I also crank the thermostat on the AC all the way up so the compressor doesn't cycle on/off while in "eco" mode.
That fuel tank is incorrectly seated in the casing.... Have you got something out of placed or trapped under the tank....every time I open up the case and play about I get the same problem, tank not located correctly, usually if you pull the fuel cap back or forth it lines up and pops up into position where it should be.... Thanks for the video, just what I was looking for. I think I'll try and sound deaden the pump with some sort of fire proof wrap at a much cheeper cost... Mines located next to my campervan bed so it's so annoying. Thanks
In the UK pull behinds are called Caravans . All as far as I’m away all have heating interesting yours don’t , yours are huge compared to lots of ours .
My small "caravan" does have a factory propane furnace. This diesel heater is only an option that is easy on fuel. I enjoy camping in the back of my truck in a small "Truck Shell Camper" set up more than anything but is limited to room for one.
Not worth the money... I've seen other noise suppression videos where you actually have a noticeable difference... I can still hear the clicking so this would be worth it for me...
Awesome ingenuity! What did you use to adhere the reflectix to the fiberglass (guessing that’s what’s under it?) I tried tons of adhesives and none stood the extreme cold and heat on my old shell. I finally got some combination that worked but then the truck died. Now, with a brand new Leer mid-rise with headliner that I specifically requested be glued to never release. Before even attaching anything it began sagging. The back hatch is completely unsafe and is very difficult to get to latch. It came with scratches that they (temporarily) shined with polish. No returns, no exceptions. Don’t trust Leer. But I digress. Great adhesive??
Too bad about the headliner. I used high quality double sided tape. It is clear and made by Shurtape. I stuck it right to the fiberglass shell. It has been years now, and have not had any problems at all with it coming loose. Thanks!
Not worth $40. The pump that came with my unit did click a little. I've since mounted mine outside the unit (heating my basement) on the wall, hanging at a 45 degree angle and wrapped in a piece of insulation. I can't hear the pump standing right by the heater. It's perfectly quiet now. I actually had to feel it to see if it was pumping! So don't waste your money on new pump when it's so easy to quiet down the original pump.
This is the best set up i have found. I got a nice 2000 silverado with a camper shell and i have been looking for a set up how to run a ac at day and night when need. As well maybe a small tv at the same time. Would this do both? Im disabled i got lupus and a heart issue so not a lot of cash for a big camper. And i really want to go off grid and camp me and my wife to try to enjoy life some. This is one of my main concerns is to stay cool or run a electric heater if need. What size is your honda again? And please any help on how to set up my power for my set up would help me out so very much. Its not going to be easy for me to get enough up to buy the power station and material i need to make my truck camper set up. But i want to do it right from the start even if i buy 1 thing at a time. I do not got many years left in my life and im only 41 but do want to try to enjoy some time with my wife while i still got time. We both love nature and fishing as well. But i got the most expensive thing done i found a very nice truck that had a nice shell on it already. God was good to let me found it. This truck is also my day to day driver but its rare i would need to hual anything so i will be ok. A few more questions any help on how to make a frame for my bed with maybe storage under it would be helpful. I plan on just useing a few electric skillets for cooking maybe a small propain grill for outside. Again sorry so many questions and sorry my writing is not so great no more the lupus has effected me in my life in many ways. Im just a guy that misses being healthy able to work make money and look forward to all the dreams i use to have. But im not letting that keep me down now my dream and gole is to make a nice truck camper that me and my wife can stay cool in or warm in and maybe at night or when its to hot out watch a movie inside. God laid this on my heart to try to do something like this. I want to so bad try to make a nice set up and do this this summer. As of now its so hard at home to live month to month so getting the power station i need and everything to do it will be very hard. I plan on finding a used small ac on marketplace to buy. But when it comes to a generator i really want one like yours a honda built to last a long time. Not that loud big or heavy. Im not supose to lift over 15 lbs because my anurism in my aorta but my wife can lift it. She has been by my side a long time Gods so good gave her to me. She was with me when i was still in good health and now thro the hard. Been with me a long time. The woman i was with before her was killed while in the Army that was very hard left me hurt sad and lost with are 2 year old son she left behind as well. But my wife now helped me thro everything and treats him as he is her own son. Hard to find a wife like that. I see so many ppl get sponsors and help with builds on things from cars to homes to little things like this. But i never ever been able to get any help of any kind with anything no matter how hard i try. I wish i could get help or sponsors with things i need like the generator and so on but that will never happen. Anyways thanks for the video thanks for the time to read all this sorry its so long. But please all info you can give me on the power set up the exact one you got if it would do a small ac maybe a tv at the same time? If not the ac or a heater means the most. Lord willing i can find a way to do this somehow this summer myself. Not sure how many more i got left. And me and my wife never get to enjoy or do anything like this. Id love so much to do this go see all Gods beauty enjoy life. And if we ever make it this far another dream i have is to get a metal detector to take with us. I love to find old coins and relics. Looking forward hearing from you. Thanks again and God Bless. Your Friend Lance
I recommend checking out several of my other videos which will help answer your questions. My Honda 2000 gen is great for a 5000 BTU AC and with power many other items at the same time. You won't be able to power an AC and at the same time power a microwave, electric heater, electric skillet, or any thing that requires high wattage. You will have to manage the power wisely. A diesel heater is a great option to consider for heat. There are cheaper generators that may do a good enough job but you can't go wrong with a Honda. Good luck and may God continue to bless you.
I’ve been using one of these for the last 2 years, it works really good, just be aware that on startup it draws a lot from the battery on startup but after that next to nothing, great product, makes sure you are careful with the fuel, I use a fine filter when filling up the tank.
Get rid of that steel case surrounding that heater, put the fuel tank and pump outside of the camper... you won't have to deal with diesel fuel inside and you won't hear the pump. Also, you'll save space inside of your camper.
@@geenote I understand, However you can buy these things for $70.00 or less. I own several of them. They used to be thousands of dollars each before the patent expired a few years ago. Anyway just my 2 cents.
@@geenote I was talking to an old retired trucker about these these heaters... I told him I bought 3 of them recently and his eyes got big and said those dalm things were almost $10,000 back in the 80s.
Recirculating the air from inside would mean the caravan would need to be well ventilated or you will be depleting oxygen levels also the vent from inside to the heater would need to be to be at least 1 meter (3ft 3 for Americans) away from the inlet from the heater otherwise you would just be sucking the air straight back to the heater from the outlet vent used to install and commission heat recovery units for eco houses for a living might also create a mould environment witheour additional ventilation
Yes the new pump is quieter, but if you want to keep the price of the heaters down then one has to put up with a slighter noise. Also interesting to note that you can purchase for much less than 30 dollars.
