I’m Dr Karan, a general surgeon in the NHS, dork & dad-dog (not necessarily in that order).
If you want to learn more about health, science & medicine with a bit of inappropriate humour thrown in then it’s a statistical probability you might enjoy this channel.
Sit back & enjoy..or recoil in horror at the things I’ll teach you.
Also while you’re here if you’ve liked any of my videos then you’ll enjoy my book “This Book May Save Your Life” here:
I know cigarettes are not good no matter what, because my mom passed away of liver cancer (not because she was smoking). In any case I'm just afraid of cancer and aren't cigarettes cancerogenous?
It depends on the brand. Always check the ingredients. The one you make obviously won't have extra preservatives, coloring, flavorings or other additives
Cant confirm any of this, I don't walk barefoot, but ive been wearing barefoot style shoes for many years and walking and running have become really great ever since
Just to add to this: you don't need to boil milk if it's already pasteurized. You just need to keep it warm at around 40C or around 104F for around 12 hours, otherwise if it's colder it might take longer and not curdle properly and if it's hotter it might kill the strains. You only need around 1-2 tablespoons of yoghurt. And the more fat your milk has, the thicker it becomes.
@@pablovegas743 pateurization is heating enough to kill off the majority of nasty bugs to prolong the life of refrigerated milk - not heating enough to destroy the proteins contained within the milk, otherwise there'd be no allergies to pasteurized milk because the caesin proteins would already be denatured and not set off the immune system. You could try UHT milk, but its not going to be that great. You'd probably have to add some milk powder.
@@Who_taoz and I have 3 degrees in the food industry. Two of those are from college. I have taken classes for milk and milk products. I do not know everything, and I'm still young so there's a long road ahead of me. But I think I'm somewhat qualified to say what I said. Some may argue that boiling and pasteurization aren't the exact same thing. And to a point they aren't, but they still both use heat to do the same job.
Homemade yogurt, especially full fat is amazing! It doesn't need a lot of added sugar (if you are used to the levels in store bought flavored stuff). My mom made yogurt for like a year. I've never had a better smoothie in my life.
Mine had one when I moved in. I took it off and put it in a cupboard never to be used again. Gets in the way of stuff on the other shelves. If you're cooking lots of flat things then maybe useful
Let me help you all. It's your fridge amazing and will cool the food down fast without letting other food get warm up? Then put it in. It's you fridge f*ck up and it will take 728572 days to down your food temperature in 1°? Well then don't use it to cool down your food, easy, as, that.
If a woman doesn't have a pooch, she's either wearing Spanx, sucking in, or spends hours a day working out her abs. The pooch isn't just normal, its standard.
Long COVID (ME/CFS) and associated comorbidities have an illness burden index that warrants huge investments in research for treatment and cures. Yet, only 7% of funds are appropriated to long COVID (ME/CFS and comorbidities of what it should get according to its burden illness index. Change is required and 100% of funding is required to help poor individuals afflicted with this illness
The person doing that is doing it so wrong. YOU HAVE TO WRAP THE KNUCKLE. THAT PART IS WHAT STOPS THE RING FROM MOVING. You have to wrap the knuckle tightly, and the rotation and torque compresses the knuckle, rotates the ring, and pulls it off evenly. I've been removing rings like that as an EMT for almost 15 years and have never once had to resort to my ring cutter. The person doing that just put that poor patient through a shitload of unnecesaary pain by not wrapping the knuckle.
Why is a red apple "undeniably healthy"? What does it provide that is healthy? A few non-bioavailable nutrients? Fibre which is unnecessary? The sugar which will spike your blood glucose? Hmm. Now eat a steak and see what it says.
Aren't smoking and vaping out of vogue? Nic pouches are the new fad. Nicotine and communism never fail to reincarnate in newer avatars once the older modes are found to be problematic.
Funny how you left out all the information that doesn't support your bias. The only reason tobacco companies got involved is they failed at lobbying the US government into banning them so they started buying them. The FDA approved nicotine inhalers containing the same ingredients as vaping even including strawberry flavor... that was like 30 years ago. Hundreds of millions of vapes are sold worldwide every year, and they have been on the market since the turn of the century. How many vaping deaths have occurred in that time? It's less than 200 globally over the entire time. I think the experiment has been run long enough with a large enough sample size to say vaping is safe. I've vaped for nearly two decades without incident. You people are ridiculous.
There are these brown, very small beetles my house that we once got after we got a christmas wreath. They really like chocolate and they will stay in the pantry and eat our Reese's cups
Doctors see more and more teens and youngs adults with lungs dommages related to vaping. Things they didn't saw much when those teens were only smoking regular cigarettes.
Worst thing you got to worry about is a kind of funky texture but you can remelt it if it's a basic chocolate bar and turn it back into a chocolate bar
My mum was threatened by a patient who had a used syringe. He rudely informed her that he had hiv and it's an old needle. She said she wasn't scared, she was more worried about the other bacteria it could have as hiv doesn't survive long outside the body. Everyday is an education
