Good morning!! Wanted to do some drills yesterday but i went too far with my warm up. I had no stamina left for kicking. Wanted to have a lazy day today. I had my coffee then saw this video posted and did this drill along with You!! Thanks for inspiration this morning ❤

Great! Also sam i guess another good talking point for the ap chagi from standing (marching) is it does help teach how to throw the kick from a compromised position or from a much shorter position when out of stance. Also just comparing notes here, i found some beginners lose balance from the virtical chamber because the standing foot was pointing at the target when having the foot on about a 45 degree helps open up the hips and gives us perpendicular support

Yes very true! Not all kicks are thrown from a good stance. I also naturally pivot my bottom foot when I do front kicks. I wasn’t sure if it was something to be mentioned for this particular lesson because the more you pivot, there is a slight compensation of the kicking leg to externally rotate to maintain a vertical path (idk if everyone has the same mobility although most have enough to handle at least that). In the end, I decided to keep it more simple for these first few lessons 🙏

@@HwarangSam yea i had a feeling you mightve not said it because ive never seen people rep out the actual kick without having the bottom foot natural wanting to rotate. Very true

At 52 years old, it's been ages since I've formally trained and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things so this is much appreciated Sam! Question, is it ok to shift the front foot angled out slightly when kicking from the rear leg? I noticed you always keep your front foot facing forward at all times so wasn't sure if my technique is correct. Thanks for your efforts Sam!
