Hello from Crete, Greece! I've seen my grandpa wearing his gloves just picking them off and then skin them off with a fork and a knife ( wearing gloves the whole proccess). I love the aroma / taste of the fruit!!! (By the way, ours are yellow color!)
You're pulling it wrong there's three simple steps to peeling number one you're going to cut the very top of the crown where most of the prickles are at you're going to cut like a quarter of an inch off of it in ensuring the crown is cut off the tuna number two make a cut right down the middle from end to end and three you start peeling to the sides of that one cut you made down the middle until you haved peeled the tuna all the way around it should peeled off in one big piece and I usually used cardboard to handle them carefully in case they still have prickles make sure when you're done to rinse them off thoroughly in cold running water from faucet then put them in the refrigerator and enjoy them once they get chilled
Hmmmmm came across this in 2021..... My Mom-in-law......picked them wearing gloves and dropped them into a brown paper bag with some sand in it. Then she rolled the pear around in the sand from outside the bag. Worked well
That’s not how u do it man. Just cut the two ends, then just make a straight cut from end to end and open it with a pair of what ever. Knives, spoons, sticks what ever. Nice vid though. :)
sorry Buddy 100% wrong way. I wish I can show u how u peel and eat the Fruits.Cut the both sides of the fruits, than cut only on the top of the skin a long vertical line and split it apart and you got the fruit free separate from the skin.
That's not really how to peel a prickly pear the better way to cut and peel and eat one is to yes be careful with the thorns and to cut it in have but not all the way and peel both layers of the pear first layer and the second layer and then there you go and sorry to say this but you are eating the second layer of skin and you do not eat all the stuff from the outside duhhhh you eat the inside only bc the inside is the actual prickly pear not the outside can't believe he does not know that
