If we get a season 2 this will be a satisfying finale. If we don't get a season 2 this will be a letdown. I wanted more from this episode itself but it opened up the story where it could go some really interesting directions. There is still seemingly a lot of story to tell, especially with the supporting characters. The supporting cast was completely sidelined in the third act.
So far I have only watched as far as the beach scene and thus far I was really trying to coherently follow on from the chaos of the previous episode. So I came to you instead. Thank you so much for covering this...whatever it is meant to be...show so I don't have to waste my time watching the rest of the finale. This whole scifi show is just meant to be a lesson about how to choose a door into your adult life? Footprints in the sand. Sanctimonious at best. The actors did their job very well.
I really don't get why you need every single character to have a fully worked ending. Especially for a show like this, where entire Universes are literally created out of uncertainty. The finale was absolutely fine the way it was, while keeping the door open for season 2
imagine we see that from anyone of the random jason's viewpoints. Like our Jason, arrives and there are 35 additional Jasons just sitting there waiting for another Jason to arrive with Daniela? Also, Jason 1 is actually the original Jason. Even Jason 2 is a copy of Jason 1. Because he built the box. When he built the box. Every other Jason was created. But there could be 1000's of Jason 1's too. others that built the box. Endless others. PlotTwist: Jason becomes Jason Vorhees. Which explains why he never seems to stay dead.
I really liked the season. Great love story glad there’s a happy ending instead of horror ending. I don’t want to be a season 2 thoe. It deal felt rushed episode. But it needs to end thoe.
When asked "are they all my dad" his reply "yes and no" was misleading. They ARE all his father, there is no difference between the final Jason and the rest as far as his family is concerned - he just happens to be the one that "got" his family.
I thought it was a silly/weird detail that there happened to be a vinyl record of a Coldplay album circa 2000. Did anyone buy vinyl versions back then? I got the CD back in the day but probably for artistic purposes, CDs, Spotify etc. isn’t as romantic as a record player.
Only yuppie hipsters bought vinyl versions but yes they were usually available for very expensive prices. So in a way based on the house it makes sense
I predicted the ending almost exactly on another channel. As you mentioned last week, this is the ending of the book. Blake said, ‘The show is better.’ I believe him; the ending of Dark Matter season 1, episode 9, was great. I can’t wait for more; the best is yet to come.
They don't have any relatives or friends that they can call? Well, no. Because ALL the other Jasons know about those relatives or friends. Some of them have already reached out to each of those relatives and friends.
I don't think the detective's story was necessary. She was a means to an end. We may see other versions of her just because of casting, but that's it. Mechanic Ryan is also a means to an end. He does not matter and doubt we will see him in a later season. Creator Leighton does matter, maybe more than Leighton 1. I doubt that's the end of creator Leighton. We will at least see him dead in a world by the box.
So Jason 2 planned for them to leave. I think we have to assume he defeats rabbid Jason "(10)" because I don't think that one made it to the mansion. Also either convinced the friend to give the app or overpowered her as well. Jason 2 could not have taken the ampules and Max without overpowering Jason 10. Also, how did Jason 2 know which Jason to kill and which to save??? I think we will see him on season 2.
Of course they didn't have family they could talk to, and neither did the other Jason's. It was all showing how easily they could leave that world. They didn't have any entanglements there besides it being their world. In a show about the multiverse, we have to see them go to other worlds. It was written fine about not having anyone to see to make it easier to leave.
So what happened to Blaire? Well, Rabid Jason was peppered sprayed and out of commission. So the only way for Creator Jason to be set free was if he convinced Blaire he learned his lesson. And was finally going to do the "right" thing. And Blaire could tell some crazy is happening so she might as well let Creator Jason try and save Daniella. I so agree. It was waaaaaay to slow. I felt like they had to escape thru the box early on. Maybe it should have only been 8 episodes.
is not like entirely like the book ending they did many things open to do a second season maybe will be about the family traveling trough multiverse. Amanda helping Ryan Prime
***spolier**** Wouldn’t it have been easier for all the other Jason’s to go back in the box than our Jason and fam to go in the box?? And just world hop ( I assume).
Lots of ppl caught up thinking it’s a one season show. Yeah sure, they should’ve explored the other characters, especially Leighton. Maybe he will be the antagonist next season or at least a version. Seems like they used this season to set things up and expand next season
Is it just me that found the season finale subpar? What happened to Amanda storyline What happened to Leighton storyline What happened to blaire who pepper sprayed jason? I loved the season but feel like last two episodes haven’t been up to scratch
I think the finale was perfect, it sounds like your expectations weren’t met, which is unfortunate! But it was a brilliant contrast for me, yes, a bit slower than I expected, however, I can appreciate it! :) all the other episodes had us on the edge of our seats and was filled with cliff hangers, however, all the plot was mostly resolved once Jason prime re-united with his family. The only question left to be answered was what will they do now!
I think this is the ending you get when the creator doesn't expect more story at the end of the script. And this is a better resolution to the story than other series that specifically plan out multiple seasons then get cut off. If you want a weird non-ending, ep 8 would've been the stopping point and this would've been the epilogue to the story. I hope they get to expand on the original like how the 12 Monkeys series got
Totally agree with the review. A lot of missed potential. I don’t like that Jason A and the family had nothing to do with their own success - everything fell into their lap in the end. Perhaps they could have used the chatroom to lure all the Jason’s at once or something like that. Anything really to show a little resourcefulness and agency.
I was really happy to watch this show, but I have to admit I’m disappointed with the ending…… too many times, time and again good shows get fairytale endings I don’t know from my perspective. This show deserved a better ending. Something different, something that we wouldn’t understand because we’re not supposed to understand the fifth dimension. Idk that’s me🤦🏽♂️
@@Stress-Free-K I don’t know an ending like something that made us question our reality…. So much of the boxe’s science and engineering wasn’t explained. Maybe at the end, finding out that they picked the wrong jason I guess, I just wanted more
@@garbagemanTricksagree. I was hoping Jason Prime would've took that bullet to the head while the wife and son got away. That's a cliffhanger. Where do they go? How do they even figure out how to use the box? Do they search for another Jason to replace Charlie's dad etc...😊
Man what a great show. It would have been nice to have a 10th episode to wrap it up with all the other plot lines, but it sounds like they are making another season
@@anuragsabath8335 Another season would work differently. Ryan is making more serum. He's already made contact with Amanda and she has a couple of vials (in case he needs to reverse engineer them). The family can have its happy ever after ending, but the entire cast can return to play different versions of them (and max) who have all kinds of different adventures. It could turn into an anthology show.
I said last week I'm done with this show, they took what Sliders would have done in one or two episodes and spread it over 9 episodes of fillers and MacGuffins,, I'm dreading to watch this final episode I'm paused at the summer house's beach 18 minutes in. This is the lifetime version of Sliders.
I don't get it. What can they do in Season 2? If there is a Season 2 they have to figure out something new and exciting to explore about the 5th Dimension.
They should wrap it up after this season. Add ep 10 as their new home then done. The ending was very unexpected with all the Jason’s at the box. Great show!
It's how the book ends as well, minus all the bits about the character storylines that weren't in the book. Daniela and Jason let Charlie pick the door so they can create a new life where no others will follow.
Doubt they'll have a season 2, didn't seem to have a proper cliff hanger, who would even be the antagonist in the new season? How does ryan even know amanda? disappointing ending...
I agree. This ending reminds me of “A Murder at the End of the World.” Both series completely screwed-up the ending; after winning strong viewerships due to intriguing early episodes. It’s very much like a Playwright who cannot write a strong third act. Maybe there will be a second season to answer the questions that we wanted answered in the finale.
FIRST REACTION. I just finished watching the finale. It was a bit under-whelming, although it did set the stage for another season. Jason1 Prime being reunited & re-igniting his love with Daniela & Charlie was the substance of this episode. It was lovely, and I liked it. What was lacking was resolving the numerous details that fans have been discussing for the past 9 weeks. I’ll have more to say after I hear others’ reactions & comments. Bottom line: still one of my fav shows of the year.
@@chaoscolby Well once all those hundreds of Jasons infested their world they had no other choice but to escape to a new one. If they could have introduced a new challenge then I could see a second season. But I think the book and the show just ran out of new ideas to explore.
It showed why he fought so hard, he has people he can’t live without…that give him a reason to live. Good finale. Positive ending. Choose your doors wisely.
I completely loved it. Loved the tension and the balance of their tranquility. I’m not disappointed at all❤❤❤. The creator on Reddit’s AMA said he has a second season planned.
