Just because your brain is making subconscious decisions based off of basic information does not mean that you are not a conscious entity with the ability override decisions, or make adjustments to those processes. It’s just we are extremely complex, those specific processes help keep us alive because the conscious mind cannot make those decisions fast enough. But you can use your conscious mind to program yourself, such as pain tolerance, specific courses of actions such as driving for instance. Once you learn more and more about driving and what can happen when driving, and you gain more experience the subconscious decisions because fine tuned based off of the conscious information you have integrated into your system. We need conscious and subconscious to really live effectively. It frees up the conscious mind to probe more effectively.
