They cut the White Walker stuff short, because there was a whole prequel series about them in the making. They even casted Charlize Theron for that. Sadly, the pilot episode was so bad, that they decided to never air it and abandon the idea...
Now Helaena is perhaps even more sad. Kings/brothers/fathers/husbands are burnt to a crisp all the time, especially by the dragon of their I mean, my brother I mean, your son. I forgive you!
There was amazing theory, "fire and ice" to beat the white walkers you need fire army, the red priest ladies could resurrect all who died by fire, so Brandon made the targarian king mad, that way he burn alot of people= bigger army in future to fight the walkers
I know another minor one that doesn't get brought up often. Early on in season 2, one of Dany's bloodriders, Rakharo, was killed. Jorah speculated that this happened under orders of either Khal Jhaqo or Khal Pono and Dany swore to take revenge for this. However, in season 6, each of the Khals have different names and this is never discussed again.
Every answer to your "Why" questions is "Because crappy writers who acted like they weren't crappy writers as long as they had a good writer giving them material."
I love these videos and how ya’ll whine and cry till this day. I loved the show for what it was and enjoyed it. I feel like GRRM just laughs at all this as well and continues to play with ya’ll.
It's even more sad considering that D&D's Star Wars project may have been shelved, so the rushed ending doesn't even have an excuse anymore. They could have turned down the deal and put another 2 seasons into the show to finish it off properly, but were so eager to get in on the Disney dumpster fire and now we are left with an incomplete Game of Thrones show, and a Star Wars project that may never actually happen. Even if it does, Disney has screwed up the franchise to the point where almost nobody will care about it anyway. They really put all their eggs into one basket when they had such a good thing going. All for the money. Money they may not even see at this point. Also, with the reputation they have lost from Game of Thrones plus the star wars Fandom's recent withdrawal, there is no guarantee that they see any return of investment from their new project. Disney somehow managed to ruin Game of Thrones along the way of ruining Star Wars LMAO. It's a damn shame, really. Disney stocks continue to plummet. They really bought into a losing market at the expense of the fans and themselves, all over capital greed.
10:50 okay okay. “There are dragons and dire wolves and trolls and white walkers but “she’s too far away for them to hear” seems a little outlandish.” Bro…
In the books, the warlocks leave for Meereen to take revenge on Daenerys, but they are captured by Euron who learns of the existence of Daenerys and her dragons by torturing them. He also starts drugging himself with the weird substance that turns their lips blue and gives them visions, but hey, Euron wasn't really well adapted in the series, in the books he's even more evil than Ramsay, while in the series...
Currently rewatching now and the quality of the show drops drastically after season 4 with its prime being the first 3 seasons (imo). I know that Season 5 was still concocted from book material but it lacks the same intrigue and purposefulness of the earlier seasons in its storytelling. Thinking about what could've been is almost painful
While sparing, every time Breann swung at Arya, she kept her sword moving in exactly the same path as Arya stepped aside and she stopped cold when the child did the cute little pirouette Serio thought was so important. Cersei WAS being consistent killing the sand flea instead of squeezing information. Cersei's whole stick was petty vengeance over achieving goals.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Arya killing the night king, but it made no sense. If Aegon's dream was to be believed a targaryen should have been ON the throne when it happened not simply organizing the army or they should've lost, but cersei was still on the throne when it happened. They should have solidified either Jon or Dany being on the throne before the night king attacked, even if they lost the throne afterwards
I disagree with the Peter Baelish argument. The show is set up so that a character can die no matter how much you like them or how unfair it is to kill them. See Ned Stark. It doesn’t matter how smart Baelish is or how much he prepared his plot, in GoT he is just as human as anyone else and can die over any minor mistake. In any case, he made dozens of decisions over the years that could’ve gotten him killed and his luck just ran out.
I think Benioff and Weiss were humble in the first 4 seasons and let themselves be part of something bigger than themselves. Once they took over completely they committed the ultimate sin; horrible writing and stretching it out until fans couldn’t stand watching it anymore. Kinda like Star Wars and all the other schlock out there today. Oh and good luck getting another season on that catastrophe called 3 problem whatever. Bowing out gracefully when your great run is over and coming up with a new idea is obviously something Hollywood is incapable of today.
i almost exclusively found the problems in the first 4 seasons to be errors in adaptation. leaving out some part fo the story and not minding certain ripple effects. a stupid reply from a stupid character or a story we never know to be true or false are great examples of what i consider to be non errors. even if they mess up continuity slightly, i only care about real story telling fails tbh speaking of that, you missed a few in season one. the fact varys talks about replacing robert makes no sense in the show, as he would know about the type of "man" viserys is. sansa not mentioning arya in her letter to catelyn, while littlefinger and varys are standing right there and should remind cercei they need to pretend that arya is "in captivity". so yeah, there are some fails in season one. you just need to be pedantic to find them
I think the show ended as realistically as it could have. Power destroys people just look at Putin. He's like deanerys times 100, and will probably end up the same way.
