Have you tried zip corvette? They have a complete t350, t400, and 700R4 C3 tranny Rebiulding kit for the t400 now. Teardown is today, tranny out of car, ready. 74 stingray. L48 also, I feel ya on the motor.
Hey man what gear ratio are you running? I believe the 44s I have a 3.07 gear just wondering if I need to change the gears out before I put this all together only thinking on running at most 35in tires
Great video sir. Sir could you explain The shifter support I would like to look into it for mine? Sir Sir I ended up buying a vacuum pump to put my antifreeze in the engine's now I will never go back to any other way it makes life a lot simpler thank you sir
I has the same issue with the tailgate seal when I took the cover off my 2021 F150 and installed it on my 2023. I moved each of the rails back about 3/4 inch and it seals both front and back.
Hello, I have a quick question. I ordered this tray for my truck but it didn't come with the installation kit with bolts and shims. Was that a different part that needs to be purchased separately? And do you have the part number for that kit? Thank you.
It should all be in the kit and I'm not aware of an alternate part number. They are like expansion plugs and look specific so I would definitely contact your vendor to see what is going on
I have tired the thrush chambered in the past and twice they broke in the welds. These are jegs brand I believe, but it's been awhile since I did it, so I can't remember exactly
Hey man seen that you used dana 30s. I have dana 44s I'm doing this same thing with my s10 I imagine how you did it will work the same with what I have? Also my axles aren't high pinion does that really matter that much? I'm not making a rock crawler or anything just a Daily driver and some light overlanding camping
I'm putting down about 320 hp in this truck with 35s and as long as you don't do burnouts all the time and drive it like a trophy truck it has been fine. 35s are a great size for typical rock clearance, in New England at least, for logging trail driving and regular off reading. Dana44s are a lot more expensive and definitely better. Budget was the only reason I choose mine, but i can also rebuild and heavily modify axles, transmissions, transfer cases, engines, that's what I went to school for and have done since I was a kid. So it's less of a risk for me. High pinions and good, but from your description of application, completely unnecessary. Good luck and don't stress and spend tons. I find work what you have and don't over think it. It has to be a fun experience
you must put a one way check valve on the overflow hose so water goes in tank but air doesnt get back through to pump ! thats fords flaw one of many! 4 dollar fix or will happen again and again!
First off, thank you for making this video. You have the only video I’ve been able to find covering this and I’ve had such a difficult time finding any information about this. Is this just basically a plastic bed liner without the sides? How’s the grip? I like the looks of it, but I’m afraid that being that it’s plastic that things will shift and slide too easily.
It is a plastic liner bottom but it doesn't move at all being bolted down but stuff can shift like a plastic liner. I like it for oil and other spills not getting into my 5th wheel pucks or soaking into my spray in linerits been good for over a year now
cool truck , but I can't even imagine going through all the trouble of the conversion and not putting them leafs on top of the axles , they look like they would drag on EVERYTHING , cool build , nice job ....
Thanks for putting this video out here. I'm doing flow through center console on my '08 with '16 console. I still haver to get the lower dash trim, front console metal bracket and cup holder parts.
Great video. I got a question. Im planning to do a SAS on my sonoma I plan to run spring under axle just like you did. should I just go with a leaf spring that gives a 6 inch lift instead of a 4 inch? Looks like you had to add a spacer to your front cross member I don’t want to have to do that???
Thank you. It's far from a show truck. I needed a reliable, straightforward truck that was road drivable but can handle most logging trails and woods driving I do regularly. I'm definitely happy and much cheaper than any side x side that wouldn't be able to do half what this does
I can't but I don't think there were much or any difference. I did early 90s cuz mine is early 90s. Go with your year truck that's your best chance it will fit fine
It may be in the 700° range under normal operation, but it gets far far hotter when a regen is happening. I can't tell you how hot because it maxed out my 1100° IR gun. I was able to ignite a dry stick in the exhaust stream tho. I'd consider a heat shield by the spare and fender.
So I'm confused y I would do this. I have a 2022 f350 dually. If you go from dpf back your just swapping one pipe for another. There don't seem to be any muffler being removed so not sure how I would do anything other than lighten your pocket book?
There is a resignator there that restricts a lot and the pipe size is much larger. So the flow increase is definitely there, but the shitty poorly designed emission system kills all of these trucks on longevity and power.
Well done. Appreciate the explanation while working. Much simpler than I thought. Would love to hear parts cost or at least a good estimate as well as time it generally takes to do the task. Thanks.
Stock vortec that were machined to handle normal lift in aftermarket cams, and I don't have the cam card near me but it's around a 1200 or 1500 rpm to 5500 rpm offroad cam from lunati. It runs great for low end in the woods and isn't to aggressive. That way it doesnt stall at low speed and it makes vacuum
I would if I could unfortunately I sold that truck a year ago when I got the new 2022. If I remember correctly the switch was very much color for color, but it has been awhile now. If I come across my pin out paper I made ill let you know. I'm not positive but if you have front parking lights and nothing I the rear then your rear harness might be messed up. Usually they can corrode up at connections in the back and ground out
I got a 78 vette with l48 also ,my question is with I decent pair of heads ,intake manifold small or mid cam,how much hp can a make ? Is it worth it? How about stroker it to 383? Or better of getting a l82 instead and do same work? Thanks!
To be honest, unless you can bump your compression ratio up significantly then that thing is a boat anchor. With that said, a thinner head gasket and a nice small chamber head you can get into the 300hp club for sure as long as you choose a cam intake and carb setup that will work well together. That bottom end will be totally fine at the area powerwise and it would be drastically better. But have to match everything properly including torque converter if auto
@@200horsepower I wouldn’t mess with your l48. Old SBC blocks are super cheap. Find a 4 bolt main 350 if you’re planning on building a 383. You can probably find some Vortec heads at your local junk yard.
Hello great video I was wondering if I should put this transmission in my 1975 corvette or rebuild my th350 automatic transmission any suggestions ? Thanks
Well 75 had both fiberglass floor cars and steel floor cars, so the steel tunnels are tighter and would need modification for a 4l80e to fit. Depending on your engine, I would probably suggest getting a 700r4 so it would fit where the th350 was.
