I've changed the throttle body. The charge sensor, the map sensor and I've sprayed all the upper intake with carburetor cleaner and the engine never changed
Dang it, I wish I would have done this myself. Just took it into the Jeep dealer and I got the $500+ throttle body...lucky me! It's much easier than I thought.
Thank you for producing this RU-vid. It was a great help to me putting a trailer hitch on my FJ Cruiser. Luckily my kit was complete. As were you instructions. My FJ came from a snow bound area so I had some rust issues to deal with. One suggestion to anyone with some rust, you may need to chase the threads with a 12M 1.25 tap (I think that was the tap I used). Use plenty of cutting oil and go slow. You don’t want to break that tap off. While you are under there get some Fluid Film and treat all the frame parts inside and out. There are several good RU-vids about that.
I just stuck with the rubicon express 3 1/2 inch lift…that’s enough for a daily driver… I adjusted the shift points with the 35’s…this made a big difference in mileage… I used the super chips module that plugs into your OBD port…you can adjust the tranny for running larger tires…And it will compensate for whatever gear ratio you have. Other than that… regular fox shocks, nothing special really…it’s a good solid DD, daily driver…hope this helps…
I need help I changed the sensor on my jeep bank 2 s1-2 but I’m still getting 1129 Exhaust leak was fixed Change pcv Change spark ,fuel injectors, and coils
Jeez, don’t know bro… Maybe 02 sensor? This code is for high voltage on the left upstream oxygen sensor circuit. Possible causes include the sensor, an open sensor ground, an inoperative sensor heater or a short to voltage on the signal wire, or the signal wire could be open. Look at the O2 sensors. Cheap to replace… Hope this helps…
Sorry about no part 2… We found that the valve cover gaskets were completely toast… Vacuum leak in one of the hoses… And sucking air in through the upper manifold gaskets, thus setting of this code…
So glad I came accross your vid as I’ve seen to much negative comments on the 3.8 from those running the 3.6, which after my research, seems the 3.6 has its own set of issues, more complex and expensive
The reason you need a License is due to the wattage of your radio Because yours is I believe 25 watts which s double the wattage of your CB and yes the FCC DOES enforce the law.
I did this to my 2011 jk and its still going into limp mode. I'm having the same exact issue and have spent a lot of money trying to figure it out. I came across this video with lots of confidence that this was my issue but it appears to not be. Any tips? I did the relearn process but its hard to tell if it actually activated that.
I might trade my 11 g37x coupe for an 07 rubicon 2 door with a bunch of upgrades and recently rebuilt motor tomorrow. What you think? 135k miles on g37, 174k on jeep. Silver jeep blue g37. Oh and the g37 is auto and jeep is a 6 speed manual
The leads for your trigger run off of DC. The solenoid for those kits also run off DC. You can piggyback the hot and ground for the trigger to the solenoid with a relay. Check and see what the voltage is whether it is 12 or 24 and buy the appropriate relay and then run the wires from the relay with a piggyback for your hot to the solenoid. So long as the cable has a gas connection you can still do it and if it doesn't you can always upgrade your cable and gun for gas pass that it's just a hose. It's not rocket science and it's not a plug and play but polarity doesn't matter so it makes it really easy. You pull the trigger that completes the circuit, that flips the relay that engages your gas solenoid. If it's 12 volt I promise you you have a 12 volt relay somewhere in that garage 🤣. The board that is compatible just as the same thing when the circuit's complete it trips the solenoid You're just doing it with a relay. Don't overthink it you got this All you need is a multimeter some spade connections a couple pieces of short wire and you're in business. Never accept defeat 😁👍.
Have you done this ? Or seen anyone who has done this and documented or any reference I could look at ? I have an opportunity to get one of the conversion kits for a good price and if it’s logically feasible and worthwhile I’d do it I have experience soldering and fixed boards etc but I’m a parts swapper at best lol ik my limits and def consider myself an amateur but from what you described it doesn’t sound too difficult but ik I don’t know shit so I’d want to know what all that’d entail before I even consider that as an option and I can’t seem to find any information regarding the process you just described but I’d love to know more if you wouldn’t mind? I thought about looking for an old board out of a broken unit that already has the pins or spots on the board for me to connect to Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks for your time bsrcat1. -Jeff
I've got a 2013 jeep wrangler sport. I've had it 3 months now and love it. I've done somethings too it and still upgrading on it. It's got the soft top 3.6 V6 6speed and a 2 door. Love it.
I have 2011 identical version, except hardtop. Silver, unlimited, roof rack. I only get 11-12 mpg as well and I have stock front and rear bumpers. 33 inch tires, and 2.5 inch lift. Engine just died a month ago with a little over 150,000 miles on her. She's in the shop now getting a new/rebuilt Jasper engine. I hope she'll be like new after that and give me many many more years of trouble-free service. Thanks for the video. You did a great job keeping yours running and looking great all these years.
Thank you for the video. Saved me an expensive trip to the dealership. One thing I wanted to mention though- when I first installed the sensor, my Jeep was still running like crap. On the advice from a guy at Autozone, I disconnected and reconnected the negative battery terminal to re-boot the system. Once I did that, all the problems went away. Thought you may want to include that last step in your video.
Just found your station..Great vid.. New to GMRS and looking at the Midland Antenna... Stay cool up in cali..Daughter still lives in Calaveras Co and it gets fkn hot !!
Thank you so much! My top hose popped off and I couldn’t figure out how to get it back on. My husband tried to help me but I’m better with seeing it lol. Also, thanks for showing us how to burp the line. I had no idea what he was talking about.
Thank you! I will be doing this job on my 235 Inline 6 with that exact tapping kit, now I have some confidence to do it! Was a little nervous but I see it's slick with that kit, appreciate you sharing this!
I usually just spray the sensor with a bit of electronic contact cleaner let it dry real good and it read a lot more accurately. New o ring is about $1 or less if you buy a kit and use it on multiple projects. Good video nonetheless.
The sensor on the gas pedal talks to the throttle bottle. Has stupid as it sounds the gas pedal could have gone "bad" they sell the pedal and the censor has one piece. Just another thing to consider, im no expert though. A little familiar though as i have the same 07 you got, just a two door.
Hey Brett, I would take off the serpentine belt first, change out your hoses, then put on the new serpentine belt… Gives a little more room to work on the hoses… Thx for the comment
@outboundterrain6454 I got a 2007 jeep wrangler jk unlimited x. His jeep is probably a newer model. I don't have tabs. I had to rip the crap out mine. Just to get into it. Went all caveman on it lol
