So you were earlier put with the runts of the pack or they were pacing themselves. If we average over how many men and women join up ....men with their vastly greater numbers statistically will create the greater extremes in those who pass ..we are more likely to be vastly superior ...but we also are more likely to have those that are the worse ....women ...being a vastly smaller number ..would have their results ....stay within a certain bracket ...just under average and below .....
Yeah ...there shouldn't be staff like that allowed working with the military ...it's supposed to be a profession ..not full of sad dilapidated whining civvis or incompetent personnel .... The only time that should be accepted is if it's deliberate ....intentionally harsh..abusive and mean in order to test the applicants response ...
Your score shows that women should have the same standards as men ..that the tests to pass should be just as hard .....remember people of different age groups have to get a lesser score
A really good bergen Kifaru or Mystery Ranch. Really expensive American - you'll probabluy have to import them.. Great frames and load transfer to the hips. I have a a back problem - 3 damaged disks at the bottom of my spine - and I have carried my Kifaru pack with 40kg in it. I don't know how good the issue Brit bergen is, but I would be very surprised if it was able to transfer the weight of the load to the hips like a Kifaru or Mystery Ranch. I've never seen an issue pack - at least not a standard issue pack - that is good at taking the weight off of the shoulders but if you're gonna be actually using the pack as a pack to carry loads over distance - rather than glorified suticase that you throw in the back of a vehicle - then getting the load off your shoulders is essential. The downside with a pack that can do that is that it is more suited to chest rigs than conventional webbing, although webbing can work it takes a bit more care in adjustment and you need to wear the webbing low.
As an ex Grenadier Guardsman, you were never really in the guards and it's almost walting to say you were. Unless you did the 28 weeks guards course, you were just borrowing the beret.
i want to apply for york to study politics, and its nice to see some genuine criticsm from a student, even if thet arent on the course i necessarily want to do. very refreshingly honest, well structured video x
I went on a British Army look at life weekend in year 10 at school,we were issued 24hr rat packs, and that experience has never left me nearly 30 years on.
Gosh, I wonder how many Rfm would have left the RGJ if there were women in the Btn. We only had female Corps attachments. I worked with the Irish Guards on an attachment for a while and it was ace. I was the only one in the camp that did not have to fall in to march with them as I did not see why I should lower myself to do heavy drill ;-) Things you do to get an extra Canada trip.
British military no longer a decent fighting force with women in infantry , to woke now, would love to see a female infanteer drag a fijian casevac LOL you put people in danger
To be fair i wouldnt conider a actually a coldstream guard,i knew someone while back saying he was a scots guard he played the clarinet,he was a bandsman ,i mean throughout his carreer he could be sent to anther regiment play his clarnet in a completely diff regiments uniform.Few years ago was in a outdoor camping shop buying some stuff ,young lady at the counter before me saying oh yes im in the irish guards of cause i say oh your in the band then, unless youve been through the depot as a guardsman you are not a guardsman
Polished work boots once you've got a basic shine use jeys fluid as long as its clear to use with a piece of cotton wool carefully go over heel and toe. And for a deeper shine mix a little bit of brown to black polish if your boot are blzck as mine sere back in the 1980s and vice versa for the moden brown work boot have fun !
I can remember helping out my one Girlfriend's unit that was drawing TA-50 or Kit to deploy. Normally the medical Hospital staff does not have gear to deploy, but they were deploying. I drove her over watched them try to gaggle setting up the gear and inventory it. Talked with their 1sg and had all the nurses and doctors get into formation and had them put on the web gear and pistol belt. Then hold up every bit of gear and stuff it in the bag. So the pistol belt with web gear was set up for everyone as the 1SG wanted and all their gear was inventoried quick and easy.
How did you become physically fit enough to join the army and what does your diet consist of? Can anyone join the army at any age? Can you join if you take medication? Are the fitness tests hard to pass?
