My Randomology is the place where I look through a bunch of weird and chaotic stuff and try to find something in the middle worth talking about. Art, movies, games... if it's science fiction or horror, it's here.
Join me as I explore the things that made me who I am and look for more weird things to add to the ol' brain database.
(shot of an upside down cross) Me, watching this at midnight and having been raised Catholic: What's with the symbol of St. Peter/the pope? Did the nun put it there? Me, a full minute later: Oh. Right. -- Also I've never seen a horror movie that went this hard on the kids. Usually they save the child to torment at the end so a hero can step in. My jaw dropped several times at how far the film took things.
this is probably the best annabelle movie, which says a lot about the other two. i personally greatly prefer the nun movies to annabelle. although, i wonder what that "crooked man" film would have looked like🤔
My wife and I love the CONJURING universe movies. Yeah, the Nun movies are a good time. With a little luck, we'll get to meet Bonnie Aarons at the Houston Horror Film Fest in a few weeks!
21:30 Ancient people got around a lot more than many people realize. A blonde vampire who lives as long as she obviously did could easily make a trip to ancient Egypt.
There are some things about vampirism in this film that I don't really understand. It would probably make more sense if I read the novel this film was based on. However, I'm afraid that would ruin the beauty and mystery of this film.
You know, I'll never understand treating immortality like that. You reach a point where you want to die but can't? Pulverize the brain. You might still be alive but you're not conscious, in pain or dreaming. It's closer to oblivion than death, sure but at least you're not stuck in the dark forever. Worst case scenario, have someone plant an iron spike through your skull. Even regeneration can't grow through something stronger than the base material. And you can't tell me someone from ancient Egypt would have balked at the idea.
Desert island movie for me, and I'm not really a big anime guy. And ngl I prefer the English dub warts and all, because it lets me get even more lost in the visuals
Phantasm 2 is a ton of fun imo. A failed attempt to make The Tall Man the new Freddy, but still with enough wtf to please a fan of the original like me. Also, practical effects bukkake! 🥰
Pumpkinhead fun fact: John D'aquino plays a horrible douchebag in this movie, but he was also a regular on the sitcoms Third Rock from the Sun and That's My Bush where he was a lot more likable 😉
@MyRandomology You probably know by now, but the "ending" was tacked on by the studio because they thought there would be a sequel. The movie was originally supposed to end on the shot of the photograph. Very divisive movie, especially when it was new. People called it bloodless and style over subtance. But OH MAN, what a style. Every music video and commercial in the 80's ripped off The Hunger for a reason. RIP Tony Scott. And that's not only Bauhaus on the soundtrack, that's Peter Murphy and Bauhaus on camera. I love this flick
there is a female vampire (Catherine Deneuve), and her near immortal companion played by (David Bowie). they prowl the bars in areas for victims, drain them, and kill them. They also get rid of the bodies after. All is well according to them, until the companion to Miriam (thats the female vampires name.) starts to age. During his tries at meeting the dr, he accosts the child who is taking music lessons, and kills her. He tries to meet the dr, (susan Surandon) to get cured. But he failed, and dies. The Dr has a meeting with the female vampire, who tries to make her a new companion, but the dr refuses.
I had a very tough time watching this movie as well since I hate heights ... understand everything you was feeling ... I was nervous, heart pounding, sweating, stomach churning, felt sick at a few parts, was very intense and just watching some people's reaction to it is hard as well ... but some people react like it no big deal XD but that's cause it's a movie ... put them in that RL scenario and they would not climb it lol
One night I fell down a RU-vid rabbit hole and came across an old black-and-white video originally used in medical classes to show the devastating effects rabies has on it's victim. It's horrid and it's (practically) incurable. There have only been 6 known casses (to date) of people surviving rabies. The video of the patent was AWFUL... anyone reading this, I'd suggest you DON'T look the video up. I just felt like sharing the fact that actual rabies is terrifying!!!
Before this film, the lead actress was a successful porn actress. This movie launched a short, but successful career in "mainstream movies." In 2004, she was on the Utah Ballot as the "Presidential choice party for United States Vice-president. Her and her Presidential running mate for President got roughly.1% of the vote.
"see how potato man loves KETCHUP MAN?" (cut to animated TOMATOE looking at him with side-eyes)) ...ummm.... I'm sorry sir... but..."potato man, loves, "KETCHUP".."MAN"??" Sorry, but that cut to the cartoon, showing the Tomato looking off screen and practically at the guy with that confused look on it's face KILLED ME!!😆😆.
"Nobody else heard any of this?" My thoughts exactly when there was screaming, yelling, and obvious noises of a physical altercation WITH THE APARTMENT DOOR WIDE OPEN. 😂 If that happened in real life, every neighbor would be sticking their heads out the door like human prairie dogs.
