I have been called Timothy twice. Trying to understand. Been praying for a wife now for 3yrs among a dump truck load of prayers. Revival gonna happen in the south states and in Kenya in my opinion.
[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God- [9] not because of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 RSVCI Here you can see we are saved by faith, and not works alone, but it's important to understand what faith is. [22] You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works, [24] You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. [26] For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead. James 2:22, 24, 26 RSVCI This tells us that works coincide with faith and that we cannot be saved without good works. Faith along with works saves and it is proven by this next verse Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. John 14:12 RSVCI A little food for thought as well, Judas definitely had faith in God, but his works of treachery outweighed any faith that he had. His faith could not save him in the end
Hi Daniel! This passage is very important, yes. Salvation is through faith by grace. Works are a sign of salvation. Works should come automatically, otherwise faith is dead in the sense that it's not visible. Ephesians 2: 8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. It’s important to look at the entirety of the Bible, and in the whole Bible it’s only the faith that saved, but this faith was manifest by action. 🙂
@crosspaint I think its quite funny how you've told me to read the entirely of the Bible but have only included one verse, while I've included three. In case you've somehow misunderstood my stance, it is as follows. Faith is the PRIMARY source of salvation, but it is not the only source. Without good works you have no salvation. Of course, I agree with you that good works should come with faith, but it's not that they aren't necessary. The passage that you've included simply states the importance of faith, and that works without faith won't save you. I draw a comparison to how people nowadays say "if I'm a good person, shouldn't I go to heaven?". I should remind you, the only time "faith alone" is ever written in the Bible, is when it's proceeded by "not by" "You see that a man is justified by works and NOT BY faith alone."
Hey Daniel, thanks for your reply. I don't think we are so far from one another in our thoughts. If a child says to his father, I trust you will hold me but does not let himself go in his father's arms, his faith is worthless, insignificant, dead, not truly faith because he did not show his faith in action. If on the other hand the child says he has faith in his father and jumps in his father's he proves that he truly has faith. In that sense, faith is a prerequisite. I think that this video series would be very interesting for you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YE4Q3WIy26g.html
Hey, thanks for leaving a comment. That’s a weak statement, though, as it was never mentioned that Saul never met Jesus face to face. Saul met Jesus in a supernatural way as well. Acts 9
Thanks for the "cliff notes" or "reformation for knuckle draggers". As a member of the aforementioned knuckle draggers club... this was truly helpful for me to understand this season of life. The explanation helped clarify a deep frustration with the present day church. Martin Luther cracked the enigma code of control by the Church leadership, who seemed to turn into the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Hi! We're glad you appreciated the video! 🙂 We understand your hurt regarding the church today. In this regard I think you would appreciate the book "Surprized by fear" written by Natha. surprisedbyfear.com/
Awesome! Very similar to what I want to do. I want to illustrate the Bible especially hard books to understand like Ephesians for the benefit of comprehension and memorization. What software do you use for illustration if you don't mind me asking?
Where it is said that animal spirit does not come from God, but from the earth? There are no animals in heaven? If there were animals in paradise, why not in heaven?
That's not the conclusion we hold, animals are different and do not have a spirit, but it seems from the Bible verses that speak of heaven, that animals are included in some way. 😉
No no no no no no no it doesn't work like that is that first I don't know why so many take it out of contacts Paul is saying in Romans I do what I don't want to do and I don't do what I want to do he is saying that before he has the spirit when there is the law that's why Jesus had to come to fulfill the law now that Jesus has done this and the Holy Spirit has transformed us we don't do these sins anymore now we are accountable not sure why people are taking this out of context because they're using it to justify their sin the devil he is very deceiving
Hi brother, I understand what you mean, but this is not the conclusion we take from this at all! Should we remain in sin so that grace abounds? No, of course not. So the state of Paul in Romans 7 is not a healthy one, we agree. But he hates the sin which is in him. An unbeliever loves it. A believer does not want to live in this sinful state, that's why there are also the following chapters.😃
@@crosspaint yes now I know what you're talking about a lot of people use that first to try to prove what you're trying to say when he said that he did not have Grace or the spirit at the time if you continue to read further down this is when he tells you Faith through Grace is what saves us now Grace is what changes us so we do not send anymore because Jesus gives us the new heart once we have that new heart the sin is gone that's it that's all it's in the past now this is only through true faith not someone who says they have faith and still does the things of the world these are the people that sit on the fence these are the people that Jesus will spit out of his mouth can share a lot more scriptures with you if you wish Jesus wants us to stop sinning and this is what Grace does for us only if we accept it through the faith
Hey thanks for your reply. I encourage you to look at our further videos, I think you'll find that we have a view that's not so far from what you believe. 😉
I thought the spirit of life in Christ has set us free from the law of sin and death. Notice that Paul mentions the Law of Moses many times in Romans 7:14-25 (six times). Christians are not under the Law of Moses, since they have died to it in Christ as he stated earlier in the chapter. Most probably Christians struggle with sin and the Law since they don't realize they are no longer under it. Paul makes it clear in Romans 8 we have been set free from this law of sin and death by the spirit if life in Christ. We are not to try and be justified by keeping the Law.
