+1000 upvotes. Seven years ago this video was made, and it's still helping brewers understand the Lamotte water testing kit. Thank you so much. 💓 👌👍🍺

I'm gutted to hear that you're not brewing anymore. One of the brewtubers that took me from hobbyist to head brewer at a local brewery in the space of a year. That said, I'm not a professional brewer or a hobbyist anymore, so I completely understand. I went on to further my career in electrical engineering and just don't get free time to brew these days.

Thanks for everything you've done for the homebrew community Tony. I can't even begin to list all the wonderful things you've shared and taught us. I personally enjoyed every one of your videos and I still occasionally go back and watch your brew day videos as they are very informative and interesting to watch, so I'm glad to hear that you will keep these alive. Best of luck to you and your family in the next chapter of your life. Cheers!

If my understanding is correct, when I cold crash, I can simply add the cotton swab with san into s air lock? Nothing else? Do I need to add co2 to vessel?
@TonyYates
@TonyYates Год назад
Adding CO2 would of course be best, but not everyone has the means to do that. Cold crashing this way won’t spoil the batch or degrade the beer (even an IPA) to any noticeable degree. Again, using CO2 would be best, if able.
@joshbarr6390
@joshbarr6390 Год назад
@@TonyYates this is a setup up for beginning of fermentation? Or can I rig this up at time of cold crash. Have a batch fermenting at the moment.

Great to see you enjoying life and doing what you love. I have a brother in law who has done quite a few ultra marathons in Australia and the US. One of the highlights of my homebrewing journey was getting the chance to taste some of your beer and to have you try some of mine. Take it easy. Cheers Dino

Respect, mate. Your videos were a huge help and inspiration for me when I first started brewing seriously, and it's great to see an update from you as I'm about to brew my 100th all grain batch. And as for the marathons, KEEP MOVING! Glad to hear you're doing well, and best of luck on whatever adventures you find on the road ahead.

Tony, several years ago I found your channel when deciding to pick up a new hobby. I got bit by the brewing bug when I received a Mr Beer kit for Christmas. It wasnt enough and wanted to build my own brewery. I watched everyone of your videos with deep interest and decided to build a HERMS brewery. I started collecting parts and spending money when and where I could. My friends encouraged me as I started brewing small batch BIAB. But I wanted more. I wanted your brewery! Life and other hobbies have gotten in the way, but I'm ready to buy or build a HERMS brewery and get back into it. I have recently gone back and watched some of your videos, so thank you for not taking them down! I will not unsubscribe from you. I am happy for you for being honest and open. I appreciate you for all you have done for the brewing community and helping me find a passion. Cheers.

I had a similar experience. After making mead and beer brewing, for a couple of years, I developed acid reflux and GERD. I determined that healthy eating and Intermittent Fasting were preferable to taking PPI’s for the rest of my life, so quickly liquidated all of my equipment. Now, instead of fermentation research, I spend my time watching videos on Fasting, healthy eating and Keto. Dr’s Erick Berg, Jason Fung and Sten Ekberg are must see RU-vid channels. Thanks for all the years of entertainment. dave

I am kind of in the same boat. I am still passionate about brewing but I am starting to realize I am not getting younger and I need to focus on my health more. I still drink beer on occasion but I don’t know when I will brew another 5 gallon batch. Hope you are doing well and I am sure you will find other hobbies or activities to replace brewing.
