Good work! I've always ran these ideas through my head over the years. I'm glad you have the time to do these experiments. You'll save many of us a lot of toil!

Like your analytic and experimental approach to beer brewing, Sir!! Think I've learned more about brewing from you than any other YT channel I've watched over the years. Water chemistry and kveik, just to name a few fantastic vids. And now this... Cheers Tony!!

Thanks for your feed back mate the pineapple got taken over by the coconut as it aged I really need to figure that out for V2. You just saved a lot of people some time doing a steeping side by side that was a great idea way better than just chewing, I’ve done the hop tea idea but this is ingenious. Thanks again Tony !

A new scale to follow! The TYRS or the Tony Yates Roastyness Scale. "on a TYRS, I give this beer a 6... more like a TYRS 6.5" love it. :)

this is great Tony! I am planning to do this next week and make a video of it. I was U see the impression that you were meant to 'cut' the dark malts 75/25 with a base malt for evaluation in a beer and 50/50 with Amber/crystal malts. Though I might be reading old literature, (or just be plain wrong). I was also fascinated by the idea of this! I find that Roasted Wheat (Gladfield) gives a real big chocolate but it's quite sweet as there is very little roast character. I see the SS BrewTech Brewbucket in the back there - how do you find it? Cheers

I use the crisp chocolate malt in most of my porters and stouts. Black patent at a very low % Cheers Tony Hopefully I'll get an eclipse beer one of these days
