Beautiful early spring hike along a fabulous west coast beach. Come along with me to enjoy the sound of the surf, the smell of the ocean, and the joy of the outdoors.
What a wonderful way to spend part of the day - alone on a gorgeous beach with lots of driftwood and waves crashing in. Doesn't get any better than that. Thank you Wendy!
Hello from Idaho Just found your videos and it is so inspiring to see you getting out there and enjoying all the outdoors have to offer with such simplicity really makes me feel like I can do it too! In this video what cook pot are you using to heat your water? Thanks for sharing your adventures I know it’s extra work to do so but it’s really appreciated ⛰️
Hi Maryjane- it is a titanium cook pot made by Toaks . I think it is 800ml. Seems just right for 1 persons needs for the most part. A canister of fuel fits neatly inside it too. Been happy with it so far. I have used it several times in just under a year.
I stumbled across your channel and just love the videos you put out. “They don’t have to be big adventures to be good adventures” - very wise words Wendy!!😊😊 - Barb
Epic beach area Wendy love the views and sound of the waves , I always walk along the beaches here to collect unique pieces of driftwood to put around my pond. what not a better place to have a lunch on a nice sunny beach at the ocean. Glad the rain didnt blow your way. Thanks Wendy loved this
Thank you for sharing your „little adventure“, Wendy! You are totally right, they don’t have to be huge to give joy and happiness. What a beautiful scenery! You are so competent in all what you are doing outdoors. I own a Helinox Chair One since over 10 years and use it a lot, just love it. It was worth any penny. 😊
@@wendyoutdoors2230 May I ask your age Wendy? I can relate to "things have changed". I think you are amazing to show us just what can be done, not using age as an excuse but wearing it as a badge of honor. Think what you'd have missed had you chosen instead, not to take in this beautiful adventure. I can smell the salt air. Thank you so much for sharing and being an inspiration to women. And if you don't want to share your age, it's ok. I just feel blessed to have found your channel.
@@madamecampsalot6384 Hello Madamecampsalot- I am recently turned 75. I am very fortunate to be well and able at this point in my life. I know of many others older who are doing extraordinary things and I hope to emulate them but we never know so I just pull out the plugs and just go for the moment. I don't take the day lightly. I really appreciate your continued following of this little channel.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 Wendy, I'm hooked on your channel. I may not always get to posts right away, but I will most definitely get them! I'm recently turned 65, and have had a few setbacks in the last 2 years. I'm working my way back to full service. I plan to retire in the next several months, which will certainly give me more time to up my game. Can't wait! And I smile big when I see you getting out there, enjoying what I love. Thanks again!
@@madamecampsalot6384 I look forward to hearing from you. I really hope you can do what means so much to you in your retirement. Here’s to you getting out there. 👍
A beautiful video to start my morning off right :) what a stunning landscape that sausage butty looked incredible too ha thanks for bringing us with you Wendy :) x
We enjoyed your walk on the beach Wendy. As the who edits our videos, I enjoyed seeing your new transitions between clips. Created an interesting look. Great job Wendy!
Oh boy, it was so nice to see that surf! I grew up in the States pretty close to the Atlantic ocean so that love of surf is just in me. Now I’m on beautiful Lake Huron where we do have surf but not tides or salt water (which is fine with me!) What a good idea to take your gear on your beach walk and make lunch with tea :) Thank you for this video 💕
Thank you Cathy- I try to make a small hike into something slower and more memorable these days. Just stopping to make lunch seems to turn a walk into an adventure for me.
Greetings from South Florida. Just found your channel and am so happy I did. I'm 59 and committed to staying as active and adventurous as possible despite some health challenges. Your optimistic mindset and exciting travels are so inspiring 💚
Loved exploring this wild and beautiful new-to-me spot. Thank you for taking us along. Watching your video is my evening treat, when I want to begin my mellow time before bed.
Looks like a great day to be outdoors. It's always wonderful to have a adventure. Thanks for taking us with you. I'm really enjoying your content. From Missouri U.S.
That was a beautiful hike on the beach ⛱️ every morning I take all my dogs for a hike for at least 2 hours good exercise for me thank you for bringing us along and have a happy Easter Wendy😊👍
thank you, As for the clams- we often have red tide or polluted water in many of our shore areas so it is a bit of a gamble so I generally don't take the chance.
My lake place is called DriftWood Landing..man oh man did I love seeing all that driftwood. What an amazing place. Thanks for share. u always Aspire to Inspire.
Yes, there is an awful lot of wood there for sure. Been gathering on some of these bowl shaped beaches for years. Just got to search for the dryer bits. Great for building shelters too.
I expect you did. seems to me after coming here many years that you still never know what you will wake up to but that is part of the allure and magic of this most wonderful place.
I've only recently found your channel and I so wish your videos were longer - they're wonderful! Thank you Wendy for being such an inspiration! All the best from England 😊
What a wonderful walk along the beach plus a campfire, hot sausage, and tea for lunch while sitting in your chair beneath your tarp. So relaxing and peaceful! Thanks for sharing. Jenny
Beach walking is my primary reason for camping up north in Michigan. other than the beach glass I collect. I additionally always pick up litter even cigarette butts. Nice video Wendy. Wish I were there because I always hear about those Japanese floats people find in WA.
Those glass balls are very rare here. In all the hours and days I have been on the beach I have never found One! However, one always keeps an eye open.
What a sparkling day on the beach, thank you for sharing it! I was thinking about the tides too as you went exploring - ha! "I hope she checked the tide tables," but of course you have the experience to know that. The driftwood is so beautiful, glad you found some dry enough for your fire. Also thanks for showing fire etiquette in putting it all the way out and dispersing any signs. That packable little chair is wonderful.
I’m behind on commenting on your videos. I can’t comment when I watch on the TV but I always like come back and comment when I pull out the iPad. When I got on to comment, I noticed you had just posted another video. I’m off to enjoy. ❤
All good Julie- if you take time to comment at all I am amazed. I am often quite overwhelmed by the generosity of folks in taking time to comment and watch. thank you.
thanks Nancy. Here on the west coast we are short of rain and in a drought and you have too much rain. thanks for watching . That day on the beach was indeed a real treat.
Thank you for sharing your beach adventure with us Wendy. What a beautiful place to sit back and enjoy a nice lunch and hot tea. Take care and God bless ❤️🙏🏼
Hi Wendy, wonderful beach video on Vancouver island. I would like to visit the island and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing your mini-adventure. It is nice to see an area that I have never seen. I live in an area with no real beaches, but we do have awesome forests.
Thanks for watching! I love forests too. One of the fun things about You Tube is that we can visit real people in real places. It makes seeing other parts of the world come closer for us. I enjoy seeing it all through other peoples eyes.
Thanks for the tour Wendy it is a nice spot I always wanted to live by the ocean . You always have the coolest gear I like the chair I never think to bring one. You know it's a good day when you have no idea what time it is and don't care.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 Thanks for putting up with me.I am addicted to hiking and cant anymore and every spring I go through hiker withdraws and binge watch hiker videos
The wood is generally from many years of poor logging practices plus erosion. Fortunately the present day logging practices are somewhat better but still in question by many. The logs came free from booms and other causes and most are many years old. Because of severe erosion and wash outs over the decades many trees were uprooted and ended up washed up on these beaches.
