Here in México it's hard to find 65 and 75 watt bulbs, only a 100 and only at places where they sell electrical products, the gobement prohibited the manufacture of those bulbs
grazie Rob! mi hai insegnato tutto quello che volevo sapere su come funziona un amplificatore per chitarra, spero di riuscire presto a costruirne uno, grazie!
Thank you sir u learn me so much! Thank you i learn build amp and how amp work i wish you the best on that world because you learn a lot. Cheers from France
A GFCI doesn’t sense current in the equipment grounding electrode! It senses the imbalance of current between the hot leg and neutral conductor. That’s how it operates
Love your work Rob. Thanks for sharing your builds and providing us the resources to build your amps. I built the Bassman micro and I absolutely love it. Im looking forward to building the JCM800 micro soon, cheers.
Does the heating element take time to heat and start closing the circuit? Because the transistor can swich on and off very fat. Does the vacuum tube swich on and off fast too❓️
I moved to Maine in finding that Maine residents are really cold and reserved !!! I was seeking out for an Amp Tech in looking over an Amp Kit build I done !! (No Way) I was going to see or talk to a music store's Amp Tech !! I was informed to drop amp off in them giving amp to their tech !! No Way !! I decided to research Amp Startup in finding Rob Robinette website that provided valuable information pertaining to Tube Amps !! Thanks for the Support Rob Robinette !! Stay Focus Stay Safe !!! Remember !!! It's not the amount of Gear you own , but the talent within !!!!
Hey Rob, I love you website..... congratulations for the all information.. incredible, thank you for everything, .. all the information is very useful, greetings and thanks from Caracas-Venezuela
These older films (transferred to video) were very well made. The explanation of how vacuum tubes work is interesting. I am in my 70s, and in my early years of working in electronics I was building projects and doing servicing of devices using vacuum tubes. The tubes in this video are of a much older generation of the ones I worked with.
I love your site Rob and thanks for all the effort. Do you have anything on the 1962 fender bandmaster 6g7a circuit? I saw you annotated the ab763 as well as others. I’d like to install switchable a tube rectifier in the vacant tube spot on the chassis. Thanks for the bucking transformer info!
Wow, I just found out you have a RU-vid. I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the time you took on your website to explain the AB763 circuit. I went from not knowing a single thing about amp circuits to doing my own repairs on a fender drri during the pandemic because of your page. I even managed to re cap it. You do such a good job of explaining it to a lay person. Thanks again, and a side note I enjoyed the story about the military training plane that was a shit design/catastrophe waiting to happen
I am confused here. I thought the current limiter bulb should come on and then after the vacuum tube warms up the limiter bulb dims down or goes out. Why is the limiter bulb drawing current (bright light on bulb) when amp is powered on? On my new 5e3 build I have a standby switch the goes between pin 8 on the rectifier tube and the 250 ohm/10 watt resistor and filter cap 22uf. I experience full limiter light in standby and when switched back and the power switch "on" I dont have any light in the limiter bulb. Any response would be appreciated.
@@al3633 Is there a device that could precisely bring it down to a certain frequency? If not, I'll wing, but I'd like to be realistic. And does a sound played at an odd lower frequency simply sound slower? Thanks.
@@jimmerhardy if we're just talking about 1 note: middle C for example, which is 262Hz. If I lowered that frequency it would simply sound lower like a lower note, not a slower note. If we're talking about music, which is a combination of notes (multiple sound frequencies, different instruments) and rhythm (beat frequencies) and we wanted to decrease the frequency of the overall music, then both the note and the beat frequencies would decrease, all the notes would sound lower and all the beats would sound slower.
This is what makes America so great, these instructional videos are clear, articulate and very instructional. Much better than many RU-vid videos today.
