I think the current set has been in use for almost 40 years with a few minor cosmetic changes over the years. The original set lasted almost 10 years with a set change, the octagon shaped board was originally on the turntable and moved behind the giant price tag in early 1977.
Penny is my yia yia. I never heard her voice until now. She passed before I was born. Thank you so much. You have made my family so happy with this upload.

18:52-18:58 It was sweet how Constance McCashin was squealing and screaming for Ruth when she won the $25,000... She was really pulling for her... heck, I was, too!! You know how *little* waitresses and waiters made back then?? That money had to be a Godsend!! I also love how Ruth dryly "joked" about being a waitress "three weeks TOO long," and then by the end of the show, she was just *all smiles!!* I mean... what a *JOY!* 😊😊😊😊😊😊
It’s a shame that John couldn’t play in this tournament he was one of the 4 who qualified along with Toby but because of a military assignment he couldn’t play. Such a shame.
She won the All-American showcase but we heard the regular theme music instead of Stars and Stripes Forever. That might usually play if someone wins the All-American Showcase or it's a July 4th Salute.
