Hi guys well, we have made some changes to our van as well, firstly the dump valve leak was sorted by our dealer straight away when we popped in to make a RDV to get it done, brill, 😊 have bought a strip so we can fit our pump up awning/ room on the channel on the edge of our wind out awning, bought some fitted driver and passenger seat covers a real pain to fit but look great, and finally some chrome mirror protectors 🤣🤣🤣🤣 talk about bling but we wanted them as had a mirror whacked on two of our motorhomes and they do save a lot of casing damage, we have a Citroen jumper base vehicle, the bonnet Citroen badge is as wide as the bonnet and is large chrome so the chrome mirror guards look ok 😊blingy but blend in 🤣🤣 …. Pete n Sarah 🇫🇷
Hi Pete and Sarah, good to hear from you. Good to hear you sorted the problem out with the dealer, always feels good when you sort out a problem. 😄 The cover sound a really good move, bet they look fab 😃 not too sure if I would use chrome, especially on our van 😆😆 bet they look cool though. I have been working on my power bank. Managed to install a switch, so now I can switch my solar panel on the roof from the leisure batteries over to the power bank. 😄 also put in a battery conditioner £30 from main starter battery to power bank, it now charges while driving and puts in upto 450w of charge. Need to do a video now to show it can be done. We are always doing little jobs on our vans to tweak it to our own tastes or needs 🤣🤣 stay safe and keep in touch 👍
Hi Kay & Jim nice site guys and great weather perfect, yes them noisy buggers on Suzuki scooters whizzing up and down the lanes, 😜 + I’m the only Brit who doesn’t like Queuing, so I’d get fed up pretty quick 🥴 but looks like you had a lovely time guys, the sun makes everything so much better …. Pete 🇫🇷
Thanks for the review as we are looking at the Chausson! Our only uncertainty is getting in and out of the bed at night for the facilities! Do you find it awkward getting across the other person to get out of the bed? Thank you 🤩
Is wel mooi , maar ik vind dat we inventiever mogen zijn in ruimte creatie. Chinezen en Dhz. Zijn zeer inspirerend. Ik vind hier nauwelijks mijn goesting.
If i wasn’t a crooked 66.3/4 year old I’d love to have a go at that lake assault course, perfect location and great weather Jim & Kay, nice find …. Pete 🇫🇷
hi both love the tou Tube shares and especually the recent europe trip. As we have have just had a new D68 in April we are find your guidance useful. I lack some confidence in making the adjustments you are making. One items related to the new plug points you have installed, did you cable these to the portable power device or splice them into the existing plug points. Would be useful to see a deeper dive on this when ou have the time. warmest regards Neil Jones
Hi Neil, yes I need to do a video showing some of the works I do because some people have asked. I am not an electrician but, I did my advance in city and guilds joinery which covered some electrical work. I have put a relay in from the power pack, so when the power pack is switched on it overrides other circuits and feeds all the plug sockets in the van. The extra sockets I fitted were spurred off from the kitchen front socket using special electrical connectors “ just for safety” also the circuit from the power bank, I put an extra circuit breaker again for safety. Saying all that the battery pack has a lot of safety features built in. The power bank is a no brainier for me, has a built in mppt controller and 2400w inverter with surge of 4000w and lithium battery. I am working on connecting my van Solar on a switch to power the power bank and also battery to battery charger to charge while driving. I will do a video when I do it. Hope this helps
@@jimandkay this is fab. We will look forward to any further updates. We had an additional external power spur added, so will look to see how they did it once we get home from a trip - Brecon area at the moment 😁
Thank you for that insight. We hope to go over to France for the first time next year so it’s good to get an idea of costs when going over. Obviously they will be different costs but it gives an idea. We aim to start next year in France and build up confidence to try further afield. I like the look of Italy.
What a great trip, would love to replicate some off the places you went. Do you have a list of where you went and the rote taken. We are heading to Europe end of July for 3 weeks
Hi Andrew, you would have to watch the full 8 episodes of our trip for the route, because I honestly can’t remember the route, but I can list the -places we went and everyone as fabulous. Started from Calai to Luxembourg on a camping AIRE on the episodes we give what three words so you can locate exact positions. Then to Riquewihr, then to Ribeauville, then to Eguisheim, then to Kaysersberg, then Colmar, then Titisee lake, then Triberg, then Nidwalden, then Interlaken, visited Grindlewald and cable cars up top of Jungfrau, while we were their we visited Lauterbrunnon. Off then to lake Annecy from there on to Antibes. 6 nights. Visited Nice, Cannes, Monaco, and Antibes centre. We then set off to Avignon from there to Dijon, then Trier. Sudden holt, decided because of the weather to come home. But you need to visit R hudesheim on the reim, Koblenz and Cologne. All these places are great places to visit, some are very pretty and old and some are landmarks you should enjoy. Hope this helps and have a fab trip. Sorry for the late reply, it’s been hectic today 😂😂
Hi Jim & Kay, well that was a comprehensive breakdown funnily enough Sarah and I keep a notebook of daily expenses when we do a big trip, our trip to frejus st Raphael cost a pretty centime inc the cat hotel on our return, just glad we don’t have the ferry expense on top anymore, back in 2012 the vignet was 70 Swiss franc so it’s gone down in price, the autoroutes have their place we drove N & D roads all the way down south but coming back we used the Autoroute most of the time to be honest it’s a lot less stressful than trying ‘not’ to speed on the N&D routes, 😊 and a lot quicker and dare I say it you can see more as well, not intimately like going through a pretty vill etc but panoramically the big view, are yo7 planning another over here next year ? Did the D-Day beaches on the 6th brilliant, couldn’t do all I wanted to do as security was tight, but a great long day out on the bike 🏍️ ….. in the sunshine 😎☀️ …. Pete🇫🇷
Hi Pete and Sarah, your back home then🙂 was it a good trip? The weather all over has been shocking, here in the northwest of the uk, it’s been mixed rain, sun, wind and also cold for this time of year. Yes we hope to either get over again later in the year to Rhudesheim if the weather permits. We have a cruise booked for September to Estonia, Norway and Sweden, hoping it’s not too cold. Kay booked it but didn’t realise it’s the colder region 😁😁 next year we are debating Canada on the mountaineer railway, maybe a small trip to France too, who knows, not sure yet. We are waiting for our drive away awning and hoping to take it away next Thursday to Clarksons Farm (diddly squat) got 4 nights there, so we can try it out and do another video. Anyway take care keep in touch 😀👍
Hi Jim and Kay yes we had a very chilled time, a bit disappointed, as it was the first time down south without the scooter only the leccy pushbikes we didn’t realise how few the cycle paths are there are quiet roads but they take you out your way to much, 🙁 of course with the scooter it’s never been a problem, we just did loads of walking and swimming instead. After you left to make your way to Avignon we had 2 damp days a couple of short showers per day on the 3rd Day it was biblical for 20 mins poured - stopped - sun out and we were back to sunshine again 😎☀️ sounds like you have some grande trips coming up look forward to them, your lucky £3500 when we did our 5 week tour in 2016 in our cathargo chic, it ended up costing us £70.000 that’s when we found this house, 😂😂😂😂😂 ….. Pete 🇫🇷
Hi, have followed your journey and glad you went to Interlaken area it’s stunning. Very interesting totals to show the costs and like you we are also keeping a log as we are away for 8 weeks . Presently in Spain via France but agree you averaged £104 per day all in which is a real bargain compared to holidays in Britain. Anyway look forward to your next video and glad you are both still enjoying motorhoming . 👍
We love watching your channel and vlogs but PLEASE SORT THE SOUND OUT!! You are very faint and need to move the microphone closer as we turn tv up LOUD then music comes in (or an advert) and it’s blasting!! Spoiling it
Good Morning Jim & Kay. Debra and I have just found and subcribed to your channel and love it. This was after we thought about changing our Sunliving 6mr Motorhome to a Dreamer Select Ltd, like yours. We are due to go and see a 2021 model next week. Is there any negatives about the van or is all positive! Have you ever carried push bikes with this van and how did you transport them if you did? The change of Van has come upon after spending 2.5 weeks in France, our first time and we loved it. We just like the size of the van and the single beds! Any other advice and tips would be good. We will keep wathching your great videos and happy and Safe travels. John
Hi Debra and John, thank you for subscribing. We found we needed more plug sockets around the van, we keep the electrical appliances in the wardrobe instead of clothes, they really creased up in there, we use the lift up cupboard under the bed now for clothes because it’s huge. We have only carried the scooter ( you can’t access the back doors with this on board) but we access through the inside no problem. We leave the offside bed up when travelling to access drawers, cupboard and garage. The only negatives are the water gauges could be better. All positive from us. We hope our next video will be about all our extras and changes. 🤤👍
Lovely van!! We have just brought a new Living Van. Is there any chance yyou could post a video on how the front bed is made? Your van looks the same layout as ours at the front.
@jimandkay Thank-you I'll ask my dealer to try get that part or see if I can get some photos to make something up. I'm assuming you wouldn't want to sell those parts?
Yes we find it quicker, less gas and come out lovely with the twin skillet pans. It was the reason we decided not to have an oven put in, saving us £850 🤤win win
Did we miss what the problem was with the van? We are loving your videos, started watching them as we are due to take possession of a 2023 5.4m wildax pulsar in July, can't wait😁. Lots more videos please.x
Nice review. I have thought that the compact version is much smaller, than that. Including accessories, it is not much smaller than the Cobb for e.g., which is another nice system 🙂
Another excellent video from jimmy and Kay, everywhere is so clean and you cannot see any dust bins, perhaps it’s because people in Europe spend their taxes on their own country instead of giving it to others
Excellent folks, the places that you have been are clean with Cristal clear lakes l bet that they don’t pump raw sewage into the lake like they do at Windermere, look forward to the next video
Because there was a covenant on our new property not allowing motorhome and caravans, we got fed up of keep getting it out of storage. We moved home and got permission for the one we have now. 😉
@@jimandkay that’s great thanks. We’ve been watching your videos each night, we’re really enjoying them!! If you had the space to store it would you have the van you’ve got now or the chausson 640? We’re going back and forth between the style you’ve got now and the chausson, I’ve been dead set on the chausson but my wife thinks the sprinter style ones would be easier to drive and would get into supermarket car parks easier Thanks
Brings back happy memories when I was there. We walked back down the mountain and saw some village houses and cows with bells on them. We stayed in a log cabin near the bottom of the mountain . Great video 😀
Best video yet, absolutely brilliant. Movie was great and Kay where did you get that enormous bag of popcorn from. Great find with the campsite. I loved seeing all the caravans. Thanks for sharing 😀😀👍
Great show folks, but you your time in the clock shop twice, and why on the start of your video is the steering wheel on the left hand side apart from that I really enjoyed it. (oh what was the liquors like) .
I was looking at getting the Hymer 314 but a 2018 one was £4,995 in 2019 and now they are asking £59,995 for a 2017 one in 2024. I can only get a 5.5m or less on our drive and am now thinking of the Pulsar. You have given me food for thought and will go and look at one now. The only major downside is making them into single beds.
