Love what you have done vehicle looks great. How much does it weight now with all this extras and fridge etc. looking to buy but tow a 3.5t van and would be worried about the gvm with those add ons. Also curious is you tow hitch etc blocking view to number plate.
Hi John, great to hear about your next great project down under... As a former “long-distance trucker,” I’m also in your backseat (via RU-vid, of course). Have a save and hassle free trip..greetings from Austria.
Hiya John. A couple of things - I want to thank (blame?) you for helping confirm my decision to approach and acquire a Gren from SLRV, after watching your vid a few months back about the try drive offroad day. Absolutely love my Gren, and looking forward to a first trip out bush. Also, a question - where did you get the extended tow hitch from? Safe travels to the Bash!
About the lightbar, you said that it uses 26 watt of power and that is too much for the 25 Amp outlet. But that outlet can support 300 watt so there schould not be a problem or did you mean 26 amps for the lightbar?
I am considering a demo saw rather than a chain saw , willl be trying it out in a couple of weeks . We have had the ineos for 6 months now but have not been able to go away as there has been very little rain since Janurary and we have no feed on our paddocks for our sheep and cows and have been hand feeding for 4 months . Our longest trip was 500k round trip to buy hay last weekend as there is no local hay available . When we pulled up at the farmers yard We pulled up behind an identical Grenadier ,same colour ,wheels bullbar ect., it had come about 150ks in the opposite direction ,. What are the odds ?
I feel for you. As an ex Victorian cattle farmer I know exactly the situation you are in…. Been there! Not sure where you are but wish you all the best and some rain. John
I always enjoy your videos, especially the education on all the switch locations. & where to find the hidden wires. Your Grenny looks classy. Have a safe blessed trip and enjoy yourself and your awesome ride. 😊
Heads up. Extending the length of tow hitch changes ball weight and how that impacts on rear axle. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the bash. Oh and I recommend the kaon angled maxtrax holder.
First model year of a new vehicle company is always a no no. The consumer is the beta testers and then the 2nd year model has most of the issues fixed and sucks for the 1st year owners.
In Canada this vehicle is over 100k and you don’t get a lot of creature comforts. In before the fan boys say “oh this is the best off roading vehicle on the market” I’d expect a vehicle worth over 100k to have an actual gauge.
Thanks for your comments. I agree to some extent but I have also had this great car now for almost 12 months so being early has its advantages as well as the disadvantages. Cheers John
John, please continue to document your experience with your Grenadier. Your viewpoint is candid, honest and credible; minus the breathless hype of most of these "one-day, test-track" reviewers. Along with Ronny Dahl, your videos have provided a real world, no BS perspective. Thank you and please keep em coming.
Really disappointing to hear. Those are significant failures, and if there's one thing that made Land Rover buyers run to Toyota in droves (several decades ago now), it was the sight of their vehicle being pulled onto a flat deck over a problem that can't be remedied at the roadside! As for the parts, I ordered a bunch from paddocks for my Defender last week, they took just FIVE DAYS to send my box of goodies all the way from Derbyshire to rural delivery Northland New Zealand...20,000km in five days!
Hmm, thanks for the honest review. Ineos made a big mistake by Putting Harrop Eaton Elockers in the Grenadier. It would be the last locker I would use; I sold mine after 6 months. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1nYZo--7Xh4.html
@@cannyoutdoors think of all the good times and how fortunate you are to have had the time you did have together. That’s what I try to do with my best mates (all dogs) that have passed 🐕🌈
@mrdobalina3451 yes i treasure my time with my dogs. Archie was with me through some difficult times in my life. The price of love is grief. Thank you again. John
It seems to be a decent vehicle but there’s a lot of hype around it right now it just came out it’s new but in regards to the cost parts availability just trying to get warranty work done or service could be a nightmare I would say stick with jeep or Ford bronco they’re affordable and they’re great vehicles off-road with plenty of dealer support
A car manufacturer worth a crap would pull parts off a new vehicle to get you on the road. It's absolutely ridiculous they can't ship 2 of every part to every dealer. I would be livid
Why would you need seat covers for a vehicle that is specifically designed as an off-road and utility vehicle? The original seat material should be man enough for the job. Thinks? i wonder if they make furry dice specifically for the Grenadier?
True compatibility with the seat airbags is a very valid point. I know of one other major brand that states on their website their products are airbag compatible but the actual cover has a label that states: "it's use may impair the operation of airbags".
Hi John. Good to see a new video from you. I purchased the Ineos seat covers with the car ten months ago. Rear ones are fine, front ones not great. Am interested in the Supafit covers so went to their website. They haven’t updated the list of makes to include Ineos which is probably a little shortsighted but I have sent an enquiry. My wife hates the current Ineos front seat covers so the denim ones look a good option. Looking forward to your next updates. Btw Ronnie Dahl’s Grenadier updates are excellent if you haven’t seen them.
Oh dear... I was going to go with a brand from South Africa, but you're making me think these could also work. Does this mob make a cover for the dash too?
Your Grenadier is made in France with German parts and English designers with Indian back staff and Japanese electronics not forgetting the sweat from African miners that mines the iron ore for your noisy cabin!
If you search for 'SMMT' you can see car sales per month by brand in the UK. In the UK, with 70 million people and where INEOS have their global HQ, they sold in April the grand total of 26 with 94 the year to date. The tax and parts situation makes them unsuitable as commercial vehicles, being diesel they are taxed to crazy levels in many European countries and they are banned altogether from some European cities. Question is, would anybody go to the expense of kitting out a dealership on those numbers even in a geographically small country of 70 million? INEOS is the new DeLorean, promise the world, huge initial interest, pre-orders by flippers, followed by the stark reality of ownership and the inevitable downfall.
