In this episode I will show you how to ID your Honda B-series using the stamping on the block, determine the date and year the engine is from using the head casting information, and find out if your engine is in good condition or needs a rebuild by doing the following: Check engine oil, scope the cylinders with an endoscope for damage, and perform a leak down test to understand how worn the internals are.

If your leakdown % is acceptable (healthy is 5-8%, generally), awesome! If not, you just throw your ear up to the intake, the oil filler/pcv area, or the exhaust pipe. You'll hear air at one of them. If it's the intake or exhaust, congrats, you just need a valve job! If it's the rings, well.... that sucks.
