Wham bam, thank you mam! I hope you enjoyed this video. It was SO interesting to me to see the cost from my year of living as a Digital Nomad.
I have never tallied up the cost but I always knew that it wasn't a crazy, huge number that wasn't attainable. I knew this was a lifestyle that people could reach.
And I still stand by that!
Maybe this yearly cost I talk about seems outrageous, however in lots of countries, this is still far less than what most people spend in their year just trying to survive paying their stinky mortgage, car and other bills.
I DO of course want to acknowledge that I'm very lucky I'm healthy, don't have to support anyone, I was born in a first world country. I have a lot of things on my side but I did also break out of the rat race which is a little tricky BUT doable.
If I can do it...so can you!

Sorelle Amore exactly that’s why it’s nice to get a feel for how it works out over a whole year. Like you said in your other video people are afraid to talk about money and ask these questions. Yeah, if you start saving dollars it's all good. But right now in Brazil, ur salary is about 250 dollars/month, so it is not an easy start. In many other countries people might this same issue. Besides that, it is all good.

As a fellow full time nomad I'd say that number seems about right to me :) I think you can live off $1k a month without difficulty - but we end up spending about twice that by staying in nicer places or visiting more expensive countries. As you say some people probably spend way more too!

Tbh I got so inspired by your videos in the past two months and that I am starting to figure out stuff for myself now. I am shopping less, learning skills that could be used anywhere in the world like serving, web development and all and honestly i am even working towards opening up a savings account which tbh doesn’t really sound much but i am a paycheck to paycheck kinda person. As someone who used to make a list for spending money a week before the salary comes to my hand, this is a pretty big deal. Hopefull in an year or two, i would have enough to start my own travel journey.

So pleasantly surprised by that amount! Mine and my partner's rent alone is $18,200 AUD per year, so this has really put living costs into perspective for me! We're very happy but it has made me think of things I wouldn't mind cutting costs on to have more money to spend on more enjoyable things! Thanks for making this video Sorelle xx

Ughhhh ever since I started watching your videos I've been inspired. I know this video was posted last Oct and now its Feb 2019 but when you mentioned being 18 and working overtime at your jobs just to save up and travel for months again.... I FELT THAT. I love this! I've lived as an "un travelling" digital nomad for years (creating time freedom rather than location freedom) and tried the global nomad lifestyle out for a few weeks here and there in the past (3 weeks in NY in the fall, 3 weeks in Bali in the winter etc). In a month I'm taking a bigger step and going away for 3 months. But the trip keeps growing and expanding all the time and I'm starting to realize I might not be planning a trip but my life. So these videos feel sooo inspiring, and makes it feel so attainable and normal to see the world and live on the road! Thank you for sharing Sorelle, and I hope to see you out in the world! :)

This kind of life is for people who wanna live right now, and not those who think too much about the future... the future is so uncertain. I'm telling you this because I'm doing the same as her, and people keep asking me"you're not afraid of uncertain future? "... well, I'm not. What if I get sick, what if I die before getting to retirement? And then...you really want to be free when you'll be 60/70, and with few energy left? Or you wanna a full life now? Answer to this question. I definitely wanna live now. Life is too short. And, to me, my freedom comes before anything else. Some people (most of the people) would go crazy without a normal job, without monthly wage. So this life is not for them. These are choices, and we are all free to choose the best path for each of us. What is better for me it might not be better for you. I had a normal job for so many years. I had a brakedown. So I quit and started to live free, 3 years ago. I would never go back, never. I feel so good right now, like I never felt in my office during all of those years... So this kind of life, definitely works for me...

My country (Switzerland) has a plan that lets people contribute to retirement even if they are not working or living abroad. It's affordable (1k a year). It doesnt make a big retirement but it covers the basic retirement plan. Check with your own country !

@@perspectivex I'm lucky for this cause I'm from Italy, and here we don't have health insurance system so far. If you get sick, you get everything you need and you don't need to pay for it. Not all that you can get is free. Not for prevention for example, and if is not urgent, you pay for it, but anyway is way more cheaper then USA for example... I believe all the countries in the world should have this. Because all deserve to get all the cures they need... Hopefully we will keep going in this way. My country is not perfect, none is, but this is definitely one of the great things we have...

We became digital nomads 5 months ago now (WOW) but travel domestically in the US via a Prius. We're still traveling a ton, exploring our country and seeing new places but for LESS than the amount we were spending while living in Boston. It's absolutely do-able!

You rock so much, Sorelle! Inspired by you, I kickstarted my nomadic journey in May 2018 with a one-way ticket to Colombia. I traveled to a new country every month, often choosing more cheap countries to help me save bucks! After about 6 months, I was finally in the groove with a steady income. I made about $1,500 a month and it was plenty to cover my costs of full-time travel!

I'm 17 years old and I'm about to graduate from a good german High School. I'd looooove to be a full time traveller but I don't see a career where I can work on the road happening for me.
