Not at mine, .99 cents more. They also don't have $1.00 medium drinks from 2-5pm at mine. No cinnamon twists at mine, none of the slushy drinks at mine and no drive thru. Yeah, mine sucks
Pro tip for burritos is you can request for any burrito to be grilled and it makes the burrito 10x better. On the app when customizing a burrito, if you click the very last tab one of the options is “grilled” and it costs nothing extra. Sometimes the option doesn’t work so I just say it at the drive thru and it’s never an issue.
Agreed. For some reason, the app makes it a lot easier that speaking to the human at the drive through. I know that is tragic but whenever I always hold my breath when I make even the smallest alterations or customizations to a menus item. The app cuts out the miscommunication.
You can build your own box for the same price, basically. It's a great deal. I get it for lunch often. Not exactly the healthiest lunch, but when you're busy you have to make due.
I was thinking the same thing. This exact meal was $5 just a few years ago and now people are brainwashed thinking it's a good deal for $7 because of inflation.
I just checked my taco bell app, the Luxe box at my TB is $9.49. They're higher on everything, don't have the $1 medium drink from 2pm-5pm either. Bastards!
Earlier in the year they brought back the $5 cravings box with chalupa, burrito, taco, drink and twists. Not all that different from this, but $2 cheaper. They need to bring that back.
One of the better value deals out there right now. Like the chalupa itself is around $5, the only thing I change is upgrade the drink to a large for a few cents.
The fast food places are panicking at public resistance to inflation, resulting in lower-priced options, which is good. My only complaint abt Taco Bell is that they serve lukewarm food. At the TB counter I ask for higher heating temps, but often they don't comply.
They went up too high too fast, more than inflation even required. They got too greedy and now are getting burnt. Hopefully there's a permanent adjustment and not just these one-off items.
My favorite Taco Bell meal is the build your own cravings box with Crunchwrap Supreme, beef 5 layer burrito, fiesta potatoes, and a medium Baja Blast for $6.49. Oh yeah and a crapload of Diablo sauce to cover everything in.
All this separately is around $15. So you're basically getting all that for half price. Upgrade the chalupa to chicken or steak for 50 cents more + upgrade to a large drink for 20 cents more. Very filling for me, this was a meal and snack.
One way to save on an order (I understand that with this value meal the drink is factored in to the cost) is don’t order a drink. They could probably charge you fifty cents for a twenty ounce drink (factoring in cost of syrup, water, carbonation, cup, and ice) and still make a decent profit.
I like the new cheez - it tostada keep the tostada separate if ordering delivery but I love cheez-it! Their combo's should be mix and match your preferences
I just got this box the other day, for $7 it’s a helluva deal….Taco Bell knew they had to compete with the other value meals. FYI a chalupa by itself is like $5 so put that into perspective.
A genuine deal for $7, very filling but not very nutritious. I worked at Taco Bell during high school many years ago and the meat was ground beef the same as what you bought at the grocery store. We cooked everything on site, including the beans 🫘 which were thick enough to eat with a fork 🍴, now they are so thin you can suck them up with a straw. They made a profit back then. Whatever
I havent had taco bell in a couple years so i got some the other day and the portions are noticeably less while the price is almost double what i remember. Never agin, cooking at home is way better for you anyway and i can make everything they make better than they do.
I've never been to taco bell. They're not common where I'm from. But that 7$ combo definitely looks justified. Not a fan of not-so-cheese. But once in a while, I'm sure it's ok. You really look like you enjoyed it too. Nice job.
I prefer the online/app exclusive box because it comes with a cheesy gordita crunch. It used to be $5 but now its $7.50. Still an awesome deal though. Very justified.
They Way overcharge for each single Item, so then they put It Into a $5.00 box to make It look like now we're getting a GREAT DEAL. If they can sell you those 5 Items for $5.00 why won't they sell each Item for only $1.00? Because that would be stupid Marketing, and that $5.00 box special would NO LONGER LOOK LIKE A GOOD DEAL😂 I Love How Marketing Can Convince Most People "WOW That's A Good Deal😱
The original version was a Chalupa, Soft Taco, 5 Layer Burrito, Cinnamon Twist and a Medium Drink for $5. 😂😭 Sad thing is they brought it back briefly last year and took it away again.
