Happy that you interviewed Historian Jayashree Saranathan. When you connect with present day history of Queen Elizabeth who died recently who refused to give power to her own son Prince Charles. This matches with Rajendra Chozhan not getting power from Rajaraja Chozhan. Let's respect the knowledge rather than caste. Mannar Mannan lacks depths and proofs. But he is attractive in his presentation.

கல்கி படைத்த கற்பனைப் பாத்திரங்களுக்கு காரணமே ஒரு அரசனை வஞ்சகமாகக் கொல்ல சோழ ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் உள்ளே ஆட்கள் இல்லாமல் முடியாது என்பது தான் காரணம். அது தான் நந்தினியின் படைப்புக்கு மூல காரணம். கற்பனைப் பாத்திரங்கள் தான் கதையை இன்னும் சுவாரசியமாகக் கொண்டு செல்ல உதவுகிறது. அந்தக் காலத்தில் மனித உயிர்களுக்கு மதிப்பில்லை. அதனால் தான் புத்த மதம் பரவியது.

Yes. But assumptions are too many. This could have been avoided. Particularly regarding why some kings are not mentioned in the edicts. Why Manuneedhi Cholan was ignored was dealt with bizarre reasons. Reasoning that just because Sinhala praised Manuneedhi Cholan and therefore his descendants got angry is too much and doesn’t suit a scholar like Ms. Jaishree. We may get new records in future.

This historian says there are two references for dates are given. 1. Panjangam calendar 2. Reference from the date of acceding the throne. She bases her argument based on the calendar date . To disprove her arguments one has to verify those dates. I don’t like Brahmins and that means she is lying kind of arguments doesn’t work in history. Mannar Mannan is basing everything on the coins available. No archeologist will accept everything based on coins alone. This lady gives her arguments based on copper plates and rock edicts( kalvettu ) and other ancient writings. This is solid proof unless new such evidents are found in future. If you don’t like Brahmins then it’s your problem. History all over the world is written like this. I heard Mannar Mannan a few times. In one occasion he said that since some coins of 5 the century had only Tamil and Sanskrit engraved in them from Andra, he said Telugu was not exited during that period and only Tamil was the language and only Tamil kings - Cholas were the rulers there. That’s a ridiculous conclusion. That means latter cholas are from Andra only.
