As a Moroccan, my little sister is 14 years old. She speaks Japanese professionally. Since her childhood, she has been watching anime and has been influenced by Japanese culture a lot. She learned Japanese alone. Supports Japan in everything, for example, in the World Cup of football and boxing. All Moroccans love the wonderful Japanese people and watch anime a lot 😂 🇲🇦❤️🇯🇵
As a Moroccan I am happy Moroccans becoming to exchange in English rather than french. Goerges you are the goat, I loved a lot your video and laughed a lot of course hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@mehdimehdi-jz2sj yep indeed, we hope to see politics exchange in english and see education in english, like medicine and othet fields...the important is research and developpzment in.english
i agree with you josof. things i dont like about morocco is french speaking morrocans an they should ban french and replace it into world language english.it would be better for new generations.
@@uhm175 Their english is weak because the second language of Morocco is French! There is some progress nowadays, and the government is moving towards adopting English in different majors.
In Morocco we respect the elderly and we consider them our role models in ethics and good behavior whether they are literate or not. As for religion, it's the compass of happiness and guidance for most Moroccans young and old.
What's amazing about moroccan people is that they try to speak any language even if they are not fluent. They have a great self confidence. Proud to be moroccan
George, I'm following you from the Netherlands. Don't worry, we Moroccans won't hate you for speaking your mind. There are good and bad people all over the world. Every country has positives and negatives. I also want to thank you for visiting Morocco and talking about it. I wish you success in your travels and I wish you success in your life🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦❤❤❤
You’re welcome, because when I was watching the videos, I remembered everything, where I was born, friends and my country, and I was very happy about that, and for this I am the one who should thank you.
@@nazihaaghattass9690 as someone who's going to live in germany for the upcoming years your comment made me feel the weight of missing your country and it made me miss morocco already although i'm still there
@@yasserchanane5045 ان شاء الله Yasser, everything will be fine. You must be strong and have the courage and patience to live in a foreign and different country from your own. Over time you get used to it
Watching your videos, I came to know a lot about Morocco. I saw super duper friendly and kind people, beautiful antique and modern architecture, wonderful weather and some exotic food. I was surprised to see some people speaking some Japanese words too. In short words, it's a wonderful country! 🙂👏
As you have noticed George that most Moroccan people speak English even though it’s the third language after Berber Amazigh, Arabic, French, and Spanish and that tells how much Morocco is going forward to be the future of Europe and power gate to Africa also remain to be proud of its culture and wonderful history that back thousands of years.
Multi linguistic with ease is in the DNA of many North Africans, mostly or especially Moroccans. I have read /heard at times how people were amazed when noticing this.
Most of these people couldn't really describe their ideas about what they don't like about Morocco, so I'm here to speak for them, they all said they love the culture, weather, lifestyle and people, there's no discrimination or racism, everyone lives in harmony and everyone is very helpful, but what they don't like is the collision of generations and cultures, for example youngsters are always following the new trends but elders usually dislike that, also some politicians are a bit lazy, other than these two things we love in peace ❤
Thanks for the comments my friend! You got me curious: you said the youngsters are following new trends which conflicts with older generations. Do you mind elaborating what exactly are those trends?
@@joaojoao6423 think of it as things that youngsters would do but elders won't, for example the usage of electronics, you wouldn't find an old man dancing on TikTok hahahaha it's mostly younger people, also the way they behave or do stuff, you'll always find that older generations judge younger ones alot and they can never agree on the way of doing things, elders tend to follow the traditional hard ways while youngsters lean towards modernity more (we still preserve our old heritage despite that tho), or also the way of dressing...and many more things that these two can never agree on hahahahaha, we sort of care for our reputation in the streets that's why there's always problems and our parents would always say things like "what would people say about us if they see you do this ?" Or "you're bringing shame on our/your family by doing this"... You'd find this in most contries but in Morocco it's more common, but if you're a foreigner you don't need to worry about none of that hahahahaha
@@6rawler6a6y ohhh, i think I understand what you mean! I believe that clash between generations happens in every country with different intensities :) ! I guess a part of being old is judging the younger ones haha! Im also curious: you said in your initial comment there's no discrimination in Morocco. Does that mean gay people would be welcome there? Me and my husband for example
@@joaojoao6423 well actually i meant racism towards darker skin people or different religions, but as i said, you as foreigners don't have to worry about anything that have been said because these are our social issues and we welcome everyone so yes you're welcome, however, you should understand that you're visiting a muslim country and should respect the culture while you're outside, even women & men couples holding hands or hugging in the street isn't a very commun thing here (depending on where you are) , it's in our religion that intimacy should be private, except for that you'd be completely good. I think I've seen a gay youtubers couple visiting Morocco and they didint face any problems but truth be said they were respectful hahaha, i know it might be against your personal beleives to be respectful but it is our culture.
Very nice idea to ask civilians and students these kind of quesions. I would love if you allow me to use it for my students as a way of encouragement. P.S: I am a moroccan English teacher and I live in fez and i've been a fan since insider food videos. Keep up the good work
Hey George!👋 Glad to see you in chillin' Morocco! 🇲🇦🇯🇵 As a Moroccan, I would say I love: 1. The family sense: Unlike Europe and other advanced countries, family members support each other a lot and family gathers too,. We're totally family-oriented/driven. 2. Impressive architecture: either talking about modern or traditional ones, Morocco has always been number one in taking your Instagram pics or RU-vid vlogs; from Riadh, and traditional old gates to modern airports, and new stuff... 3. People: Mostly friendly, speaking multiple languages (it's normal to find people speaking 3-5 languages, I by myself speak 4), trying their best to welcome tourists to make them feel they're home and very welcomed. Of course, there are a lot be said but let's hop into what I don't like much: 1. People, again: yes, but only few of them... They're desperate to sell objects/services to tourists, they REALLY insist, and sometimes they manipulate the process to get a HUGE profit. It's their business to buy and sell but, not to make someone feel forced.. 2. French: Exactly! This language should be removed and not stay as our second language as we're getting more independent and English is absolutely the diamond. 3. Some politics: As every country, we live with some corrupted heads, WE LOVE OUR KING, but not the government much, I said some heads but not all of them. I hope we fixing this soon and fight the immigration problem (either poor or well-educated ppl)
So beautiful and smiling people in the interview. I never knew how awesome and beautiful this country is, George. Thank you so much for showing this to the world. I've learned a lot from your videos. I loved it when that girl said couscous🤩. I love couscous, especially with roasted vegetable chickpeas, and almonds. So, a big shoutout to here! ;)
I like this video idea. Big thumbs up George 👍 I'm surprised about the English level of Moroccans! They did a good job in the interview and they have a great confidence to talk even though they aren't fluent, they keep answering and try to deliver their idea haha it was cute and funny English is 3rd language in Morocco we start studying English in high school. Good job high-school students 👏 hahaha
I'm so impressed that so many people speak very good English! It's wonderful that Moroccans are so welcoming and love their country its diversity. I'm really impressed! Thanks for the video!
I love Japan so much and I really like u George , I appreciate the videos u make and the efforts u put on them I was really happy when I knew you've visited Morocco and I felt so proud to see that our culture has been known and spread around the world thank u so much for visiting our country and giving ur honest opinion about it you are always welcome here ❤️❤️❤️
Dear George thank u for being here in my country and showing the beauty of Morocco, I am happy that you like it even if there is some negative behalf that happened to you and I'm sorry for these you are welcome any time and please stay as you are honest and always smiling Wish you all the best
Thank you for your videos that I watch and I enjoy a lot. Welcome to your second country, Morocco. Welcome again. And dima Morocco🇲🇦 I am proud to be Moroccan🇲🇦
My elementary school taught Arabic and it's where I first learned about Morocco. I still remember some words but after watching these videos I want to learn the language again!
I agree with you on the driving. I get extreme anxiety in cars in Morocco lol it hurt to hear about the kids throwing stones 🥺 I pray they can somehow see this and learn how hurtful it is. I have enjoyed every single video you posted on Morocco. I appreciate them and hope you come back. arigato!❤️
The reality is that no country in the world is perfect but when it comes to Morocco the best thing is people are kindest and most helpful to each other in difficult times, the weather is amazing, the claimant is perfect, history is unbelievable, the Moroccan king is the greatest / negative side are sometimes you faced by old mindset people and some laws needs to be updated and of course, create more and more jobs for young people but generally, the economy is growing and life living is doing ok. Alhamdulillah**❤
hi george ! As a Moroccan, i really apreciate your videos about Morocco also I'm being so proud of seeing people enjoy their time and their trips and Morocco! I really love your videos while filming something abt my country such as food or places or culture...etc. In addition i wish i could go visit Japan and discover the culture there and meet new people i'll be so ecstatic witht because i do love asian people a lot !

wooooooow !!!!!!!!!!!! you are soooo honest i love that so much , i'm a morocan so i know what u mean (your opinion about morocco). so now i know i can trust your opinion about the other countries also it's sooooo good . good luck
I just discovered your channel yesterday and now I really enjoy each video of yours. And don't you even worry about speaking your opinion truly about Morocco, every country had a good and a bad side, and I am sorry about the things that made you feel sad or uncomfortable. But overall, Indeed Morocco is a Great country, I hope you'll come again. sending you so much love Takuya
George you should definitely redo this interview with younger people in universities specially if you have time. I feel like people had a lot to say but there was the language barrier. Most university students are fluent in english. You can go to ENCG / FST... They are like in the same place if you are still in FES of course. And i'm sorry about the kids throwing stones at you. In Morocco there is unfortunately some poor places where kids aren't that well educated and open to foreigners or maybe cameras but as you said it's like 1% The majority as you already saw are nice, open minded and welcoming. I get that you want to see the traditional places but sometimes you just end up in poor neighbors. It will be a good experience if you try to see the other parts of the city as well. I mean the traditional aspect will still be there. Have a great vacation.
I loved the last guy to comment who talked about politics. It seemed to make a lot of sense. I think my list would be similar to George's, only changing one point, and apparently, a lot of Moroccans complained too. 1) I loved the architecture, as I've mentioned more than once. 2) Followed by the weather, this coming from a woman from São Paulo who can't stand the rain since November here anymore hahaha. 3) the delight of seeing so many people speaking Japanese, it was completely unexpected. 4) the opportunities that the desert offers, which is something unimaginable when you think of a desert region, and the camel ride, the fire show, and the dinner were the best part of the videos in the region for me. 5) the food and the relationship that Moroccans have with it, enjoying everything, parts that I honestly don't know if I would have the courage to try, I think it's very beautiful on their part, it shows respect for animals.
Now what I didn't like: I'm not even a nationalist, but I'll defend Brazil on this one: from the videos, which is a very small spectrum, the Brazilian people seemed more friendly and respectful. With the exception of a few people who participated, like the gentleman who called for the camel barbecue with his mother, and the hotel manager that was at the same level of Gaba's cameraman, people seemed very open and friendly but a little invasive, I was always left with a feeling of risk and tension (and was something that people complained about as well), I don't know if I would like that. The second factor was the urban chaos, with narrow streets and motorcycles going by like there's no tomorrow, I would be scared and here in the favela it is like that in a certain part. And the third religion has a beautiful material influence, but it also generates bad factors, which I believe the first guy illustrated well. And this is not a problem with Islam, but with religions around the world (especially if we consider Christianity, Judaism and Islam as sister currents). It seemed like a very interesting and safe place to visit. And I think every place in the world has positives and negatives, for me this video is the best part because it concludes a chapter to start another. Good luck on the next destination, George, have a good flight
@@GeorgeJapan thank you, George, this is really kind of you ^^ Excited for Spain, Bora lá/Lesgo/Yalla/Vámonos (just noticed that I don't know the Japanese version of it)
I really like your videos and you’re very welcome in Morocco. Don’t worry we are open minded people your opinion is very important for us. Also I hope you’re visiting ifrane to see the snow and chefchaone to see the beautiful sea and natural landscapes .❤
Thank you so much George for sharing your opinion with us. And the whole video is really amazing. It’s sad to know that you had to encounter some of the dangerous kids you mentioned. As a Moroccan I can relate and I understand you. But in the end when you think about it. Perfection doesn’t exist and I hope you enjoy the rest of your journey here in Morocco and you have fun.
thanks for this wonderful video and your efforts, i'm realy surprised how morrocan citezens speak good in english instead of french, you are welcome and i wish you the best for the rest of your travel
What I like about Morocco: the hospitality, the nature, the community feeling, our traditions, multilinguistic people, our passionate temperament, our food. What I dislike: the corruption, our government, the pollution, lazy youth that want to emigrate to Europe or other countries in stead of building their future in our country.
There are so many things they wanna express about but due to the lack of English speaking that stand a barrier even though Moroccans known as polyglots , good content though to reached out to the Moroccans and portray their take and perspective whether like or dislike away from a foreigner stand point about Morocco as a whole ! Carry on man and enjoy your stay .
Salam george, you were right about the driving issue it’s unfortunately common thing in Morocco . And don’t feel pressured to say you’re honest opinion. Moroccan won’t hate you for that. And i hope you’re having a good time in Morocco and welcome ❤❤
The last man said the truth , the problem is the gouvernement doesn't do his effort for the people and especially for the youth, Absence of equal opportunity is the big problem exists ..
I love these interviews. The video was very interesting. I didn't feel the time. Thank you. I can speak Japanese, but I can't write. The first country I want to visit is Japan.
Hey I hope you are doing great... first of all welcome to our kingdom and don't worry we will never get you wrong on the opposite side we need people like yourself to tell us what we need to improve in our kingdom and that's will benefit us... once again welcome and thank you for your comments... hopefully you will be able to visit us in the south of Morocco to see more about our diverse culture 🙏
@@GeorgeJapan For sure 👍 I'm moving soon to Spain if you are planning to come again let me know in advance I would like to be your tour guide, and give a good image of my country, in the other hand I would love to visit Japan because we are attracted by the Japanese Manga (One Peace) culture....

I feel like these people can't describe themselves very well, it might be the language barrier or that a foreign person (it's not common here) took courage to approach them and suddenly ask them these questions, but I think they tried their best :) Personally what I like about Morocco is that there are many cities that have historical monuments and that it has a beautiful natural sceneries, forests and nice views, people here are very generous, kind and welcoming. Morocco has some unique and delicious dishes and traditional food, it's very cheap to live here as a moroccan but there is this controversy that the government doesn't provide much job opportunities, and that the new prime minister increased prices of food & gas, but what I know is that our education system is surely not the best but if one has persevered and set a goal and a correct mindset, he will eventually reach it, great things never came from comfort zones. Generally, I think Morocco is definitely a good option for people who like traveling and discovering new cultures and traditions.
What I like about George is his honestly when he doesn't like something he tasted he say that no hypocrisy involved, thanks George you should plan another trip to Morocco after you go.
From your videos, it does seem like the best thing about Morocco is how friendly people are, and a lot of them speak enough English as well! And the architecture there is really unique - I’ve always wanted to visit Morocco to see the architecture! But, as a woman, I’m a bit on the fence to go to muslim countries, even though I know that Morocco is safe and not too conservative. Anyhow, thanks again! I assume that you’re going to Spain next - have a safe trip! 😊 Edit: I was just noticing that a big change from Brazil to Morocco is that, in Brazil, the subscribers were taking you around and brought you home; in Morocco you made friends with the hotel staff and guides, but I guess that you had fewer subscribers there, so you didn’t get the invitation to people’s houses the same way. In Brazil I find that people treat you like an old friend right off the bat, but there’s a bigger language barrier because fewer people speak English suuuper well. But I still can’t believe that you got your concierge in Morocco to make a snack tasting video 😅😅😅 that was the best!
" I’m a bit on the fence to go to muslim countries" or maybe you need to get over westerns propaganda and visit the world btwn the conservative countries in Arab world are the most safe not only of the region but they are in world top ten safest country with less rate crimes (Qatar, UAE, Oman, Koweit). Morocco is beautiful country and the most visited country in whole Africa. I did solo trip there.
If people were really to follow Islam, Morocco will be the best country in the world. The real Islam is far from what the media shows. It's all about peace, love (not the sexualized one) and coexistence.
@@missyana8746 no need for an aggressive response like that. I’ve visited a few countries around the world, have zero problems with muslim people, but I have problems with the government of certain countries. Your comfort zone is your business. I would probably be OK visiting Morocco, it seems to have a really good infrastructure for tourism, but I dislike conservative regions. It doesn’t seem like Morocco is too conservative, though.
Hi, George I am Canadian Moroccan. I have always respected different cultures, mainly because I am from Toronto and I come from a mixed background. I am thrilled you enjoy my country, for it is unique, and each place and city has different nature and scenery. I live near Casablanca, near the ocean. I recommend you visit the city of Agadir, which is gorgeous down there. p.s if you want, You are welcome to visit my home.
Im surprised you didnt at least find 3 or more people that speaks very fluent english, alot of people in morocco speak with a very good english im not saying that the ones who were in the video had a bad english but its not that good but overall thank u so much for this wonderful video and for trying to understand the perspective of moroccans about morocco and at the end all moroccans would die for their country at least the free ones
much nicer video George (I'm still feeling a bit frosty about the poor baby calf's head video...). So yes, interesting, but one suggestion, next place ask "what do you love about...?" and "don't love about..."? Using "hate" in the question can put some people in a defensive mood and may cause an unintended argument. Anyway... "moo moo!" ('goodbye' in baby cow speak, when the baby is saying farewell to its mother!)

-Firstly, I really like your Japanese name, Takuya, better than George. Please don't take it the wrong way, it's a compliment. -Secondly, this is your best video about Morocco so far, interesting, sincere, and truthful about what Moroccans think. No lies. I also like your other videos ,that show how much you love Morocco. Much respect. -Thirdly, you are right about the things you dislike about Morocco, and I don't take it badly. Although some Moroccans might they are a minority. As with anywhere in the world, there are good and bad people, i'm somehow agree with you , fully agree with you . -Finally, as a Moroccan, I love the diversity of nature in Morocco, from its beaches on the Mediterranean and Atlantic, to its mountains, deserts, and unique wildlife like monkeys, snakes, scorpions, and gazelles, atlas lions( for lions ,lives only in rabat zoo). I also love the culture, music (gnaoua especially , and some others), and traditional architecture, as well as the good people. -However, what I hate most about Morocco is the behavior of some bad people who are ignorant or bully others, even though they are a minority. Also, the lack of respect for nature, such as littering and throwing waste everywhere.
