The extra moisture could allow you to take it one step further in your testing, throw some ground beef or chicken or shrimp in it, and treat it like a burrito and fry it in lard or bake it see how it holds up.
There is a channel dedicated to using bamboo fiber. But they do a 80/20 split of bamboo/psyllium. Sometimes the balance changes for certain recipes. I think the name is Bamboo update.... not sure the exact title but it starts with Bamboo. Edit: Bamboo Love
Oat fiber has a dry and gritty texture so bamboo fiber seems it may be better. I think ANY discovery of new ingredients in low carb/Keto living is FANTASTIC. It doesn't have to be "magical" or "groundbreaking" for me to appreciate the addition to my pantry.
You are indispensable Nili & Your incredible ability to get to the bottom of things indispensable!! What an asset You are to all whose lives You touch!! Thank You for exercising Your mad kitchen skills & sharing so generously with us!!
I use your base wrap recipe all the time. My favorite additions when going for a sweet crepe are a little stevia and some orange extract. Oh, my! Will try with the bamboo fiber for the extra heft when adding savory fillings; thanks! I admit that I’ve become a fan of the bamboo flour baking mix from Victoria’s Keto Kitchen and can recommend using it for fantastic and tender Dream Biscuits (America’s Test Kitchen recipe, as tested by Wes over at Highfalutin Low Carb). So now that I’ve invested in it, it’ll be nice to use it in your wrap/crepe recipe.
I’ve been wondering what the bamboo fiber would do for tortillas😁 thanks for experimenting 😉 I recommend getting an electric tortilla press, I promise it will change you life young lady😊 Have a blessed day
Thanks for doing these videos about the bamboo fiber for us! It's great to hear YOUR opinion of it!! I've not yet purchased it, I don't know that I will...I'll have to think about it OR if you come across something amazing with it, then I will indulge!! Thanks, Nili!!!
Thanks for sharing this! 😊 I really likr using the bamboo fiber in my egg white bread recipe. I like how it makes the bread/buns so much fluffier. I made regular sandwich buns and made a sweet batch to make danishes that are AWESOME! I've also used it in a pumpkin chaffle recipe (cream cheese) and it greatly improved the texture in it, as well. It gave it more of a cake-like texture.
@ronip3655 could you share the recipe you use for the egg white bread and how much bamboo you use? wes fron high falutin low carb here on YT used victoria's almond/bamboo 2.0 flour to make biscuits...theyre so good ive made 4 batches..they dont get heavy in my stomach and i can eat two if i like because they are so low carb! thanks for sharing whivh exact recipe you use and your modifications!
@@CNCFemale Nili actually has a video of her egg white bread where she made buns and used the bamboo fiber. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xHAl3LNtWdk.htmlsi=HVmW80KhznD7vgYl You should give it a try. Her recipes are pretty amazing!😉 I use her egg white butter bun recipe (with the butter powder) and add the butter powder and bamboo fiber at the end.
I just added the bamboo fiber to your wraps earlier today. I liked the frothiness of it. I saved it for a pasta dinner tomorrow. I added onion and garlic powder as well as Italian seasoning to it. It’s yummy
I just noticed you put your address in your post. It's interesting because I was born in Oregon City, raised in Lake Oswego and West Linn, then moved back to Oregon City for my Junior and Senior years in High School. 😀 Of course I live in Salt Lake City now. But its just cool that one of the chief Keto influences lives in my old stomping grounds.
I have the bamboo flour but haven't used it yet. I bought the pan and flipper for you original egg white "crepe". Haven't made them yet. I like all the things but I work full time and take care of my mother so my time is limited. Looking forward to retirement so I can make all the things.
Nope, no bamboo fiber recipe here! I like your egg and gelatin crepes. It's my go-to much thanks to you! I usually put two whole eggs into each recipe but sometimes I go with three. In that case, I sprinkle some Trader Joe onion salt in. I don't really taste the yolks either way (but maybe my taster is broken?). Thank you so much!
Hi Nili! Of all the fibers you’ve done, which one do you recommend would be closest to gluten texture. I have accumulated arrowroot, Guargum, xanthan gum, acacia senegal powder, Tara gum. I need to use them. Since I don’t want to waste expensive egg white protein powder and egg white by just making them all. Please give me some ideas! Thanks!
I have only used bamboo fiber in egg white bread. Aside from the weird green color it gives to things, I love how soft the bread/rolls get. I was thinking of trying it in crepes. Knew you would be the one to try it.
I've made bread, rolls, and biscuits with bamboo fiber - and each one has been phoenomenal - with NO green color - so i'm not sure what recipe you used - but I can 100% vouch that bamboo fiber does not give a green color - all of my recipes have come out perfect, with a very white wonderful texture.
Thanks for another great video! 👏🏼❣️ I need to get that pan but wasn’t sure which one it is or what size… I have a flat electric stove too & hate to scratch it… Hey, I am trying to come up with bamboo & egg white bread together, no success yet. Are you? I’m not that fond of just the bamboo bread alone or egg white alone… 😉 Keep up the good work. Love all your videos! ❤ ~ Maria & Craig ~
Keto Fitness Club has their own Bakery Ketoroma Kitchen & Bakery and make the Panda wraps. I think the flour recipe is not publish due to them creating and selling it but I think Mark said it was Bamboo fiber, psyllium husk powder, and coconut flour.
I add a teaspoon of potato starch, plus the same amount of either yeast, or nutritional yeast, for texture and flavor. Don't forget salt. You'll get a slight crunchiness, not to mention better texture, for just a few carbs. To me, it is well worth it. Bamboo flour can work quite well, but it needs additional flavor because it is so neutral.
@@flatterearth false, people have incorrectly purchased bamboo flour due to the reference confusion. It was only meant to help others purchase the correct product.
I've been making the new Keto flour with it and I can assure you the fiber will tear up your gut! Big time. So what good is it if you can't stay off the throne. I threw mine out.
Nili, does your bamboo fiber look & feel like pulverized paper? I just got my bag of mystery fluff, it is in German or Swedish or something, but girl it feels like something that should not go in my body - I'm too scared to use it, lol!
Yeah, definitely not powdery like say coconut flour, I think I'm going to have to try too translate the label...pray for my sanity, as I embark on what is sure too be a nerve wracking expedition😬- 🤗
Very interesting. I think it’s too expensive to play around with personally. I have that same griddle and mine warped after about 2 months. I never cook on high with it. Disappointing.
But too much of it makes you have diarrhea. Bamboo fiber tastes like nothing and it would have been an awesome flour, but it can't be used in big amounts.
