Denise N I agreed. I bought the 2019 Ultimate 2.0 in Black with black interior and I was amazed at the safety features and design of this vehicle. The price was great compared to other vehicles without all the added features that this vehicle has. I'm completely satisfied and love this vehicle.

Great video as usual! Just picked up a 2019 2.0T Ultimate FWD that was left over after the 2020's hit the lot. $4500 rebate right off the top, and with my owner loyalty rebate ($500) and veteran rebate ($500), that's $5500 under retail before negotiations. I was able to negotiate to invoice which took another $1900 off the price. Left me with a hair over $31000 before down payment. Hands down, the best deal I've ever got on a new vehicle. If you're in the market and there are any 2019's within driving distance, it's worth it to head that way soon. When I got mine, there were two additional 2019's left on the lot. The other two sold within two days of my purchase.

The rear seats recline further. You just had the trunk shade in the most forward position. When it's moved to the rear position or stored away, you can recline further. Good job on the video and thank you!

Hopped into one today and this updated Santa Fe is in an upper league compared with the 2018 model. Packed with technology and features for a price that under cuts the competition for thousands less. Hyundai has become a formidable and highly competent player in several automotive segments. It's garnering awards and accolades in reliability, warranty and customer satisfaction. Worth considering before spending thousands more in a under-speced/over-priced German or Japanese luxury crossover.

@@trespasser121 Well I've had two, one Santa Fe and one Elantra. The Santa Fe had for 10 years before an accident. The only issue it ever had was in the 7th year with a leak in the AC unit hose line that took two trips back to dealer before they could finally locate it and fix it. Other than that it never had a problem with any thing for 10 years motor or transmission or anything. The Elantra I've had now for 5 years with no issues what so ever, nothing. I have pondering over getting this Santa Fe again which I miss mine a lot; verses a Cadilac XT5 or Toyota Rav4; and I am persuaded to get the Hundai Santa Fe again. All the reviews show it has a lot more bang for the buck than any other SUV.

My 4 month review, I'm super satisfied with my 2019 SEL 2.4 ! No regrets, It's a bargain for the price, it has long list of safety features, and 10 year warranty. Another plus, it is a real pleasure to drive, with a large cargo area. Test drive one for yourself...

That huge floor compartment you 're pointing out at 16:30, is the result of the Santa Fe actually being a 7 seater in Australia / Asia Pacific. So, two back seats are meant to fold out, if needed. Anyway, awesome detailed videos. :)

Not only is 2019 Santa Fe boasting a new exterior design, but it also has improved visibility, a slew of standard safety technology, and a larger interior. Nevertheless, keep up the great work, Mike! I have an 18 Santa Fe Sport, I do love the ride and drive, I have driven many others, and the most solid ride is mine,,, Really! Although I wished I had waited for the 19 to come out, I totally love the more aggressive look. However this goes for all model vehicles.. Color choices are much too limited, and too many Bazaar looking colors. Let's go back to some great colors from the 90's and 80's cars. I hear this all the time, people do not like the Limitation of Colors. It is getting so an entire row of vehicles in traffic are two colors,, the rest are just a crazy bazaar color. But as I say,, I do Love my Santa Fe Sport! I really feel secure in my vehicle. Thanks for the Great Video!!

It's great to see a dealer that really knows a vehicle! This doesn't happen all that often. The video is great because it's a real world view rather than a quick and dirty review. I would have liked to see a video of the Ultimate with the 360 camera and the heads-up display. I would love to see a link to the owner's manual.

Thank you for a comprehensive review. The only one on YT. I've been trying to find this type of info to understand my 2019 Preferred Santa Fe. The users manual isn'y much help...cas it says 'if equipped'...I don'y know. Could you say more on the child lock and road door protections & which trim has this feature? And any info on the Preferred trim, eg what doesn't have & what the Blue Link provides. Thanks.

Drove this trim yesterday. Quiet and composed. I wouldn't say it's a very comfortable ride but it's comfy enough. Base engine is adequate. However fuel economy is pretty bad compared to even some crossovers and sedans that have V6 engines/Turbo 4 cylinders. I'd still buy one imo.

Sometimes manufacturers like Hyundai and VW will use a separate horn for the alarm. But the actual horn is different. For example, the Elantra has a disk or "meep meep" style horn when locking the vehicle or when the alarm is triggered But, in the Elantra, when you push the horn on the steering wheel it's a trumpet style. So I think it would a good idea to differentiate the two on your videos.

Great review! Can you turn the Start/Stop off on this vehicle? My husband got a new Ford and he can deactivate this function. It's a deal breaker for me if I can't turn it off, other than that, I would be heading to a Hyundai dealership for sure ❤

Hi John, nice video and very interesting! I absolutely agree with you Hyundai Santa Fe but also the Kia Sorrento are undoubtedly very well made and beautiful cars, but in other hand we should close look at their price which isn’t so good! For example let’s pic the Middle range of the Hyundai Santa Fe Elite it cost approx. 60K and the middle range of the Kia Sorrento is just below, this is absolutely a joke! With the same money I can buy the newest Land Cruiser Prado! So look from that point of prospective I personally prefer to get the Prado that is more a versatile Vehicle and keep the value in a longer run! Please feel free to let me know your thought. Cheers

MikesCarInfo Oh ok, well good to know! Because I'm thinking of trading my 2010 Outlander soon, but I just don't know for what lol. Like if I'll stay with the CUV/SUV class (because I live in Canada, AWD or even just a 4WD is good for winter driving) or I'll switch up to a sedan/hatch. But I also want a good interior, specially with lots of storage/compartment area. That's why I'm thankful that I found your channel. Because of your detailed reviews, I could get some ideas or options on what I should get if ever the time comes. 👍

I’ve had this since last November. It has loss of issues. Some small and annoying but you can tell that this is a new model year or a car. But the worst part is this new transmission has a torque converter problem. I’m on my 3rd one and now they are replacing the entire transmission. I’m considering the lemon law. This is not isolated either. Loads of people have this issue. 10-12 at my dealer alone that they admitted to.

Bought the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0T in Machine Gray. Gotta say I’m impressed with this vehicle. I love it. But there’s a few things that I don’t like. First, I wish the vehicle’s side mirrors had the ability to automatically fold. Second, I wish the vehicle would automatically lock the doors whenever you walk away without you having to lock the doors yourself by using the smart key or by pressing the button on the door handle. For the amount of money I paid (39k after taxes), these things should come standard. Finally, I wish the vehicle had better gas mileage. I’m averaging about 15-17 mpg while driving in the city. Now I understand that there’s a lot of stop and go traffic while driving in the city but still. Besides this, the vehicle is awesome and am satisfied with my purchase.

Interesting re: mpg. Is that in Eco mode? I am likely buying the 2.4L. I drove one yesterday and the acceleration was fine- especially in sport mode. Obviously, the 2.0 would be more fun to drive, more get up and go, and greater towing, but for me (average driver with 50+ mile commute to work), I think the 2.4 will get me better mpg. I've considered the 2.0t but really need to save money on gas.

R D yes. That’s in ECo mode, or “Smart” mode as the vehicle says. I do live in a big city where I am constantly stopping and going at every intersection so that’s a reason why my mpg is pretty low in the city. I’m averaging id say about 17 MPG driving in the city. A full tank of gas is lasting me about 8 days average, probably about 300 miles or so. But it’s an awesome vehicle! Whichever engine you choose to go with, you’ll enjoy it.

Hello Mike, another first rate review, thank you. I especially like the way the dash trim at both ends flows into the door panels, a real nice touch, which reminds me of the same style of the latest S Class Mercedes-Benz. I'm also intrigued by the long sunshade that rolls back. Judging by the rest of the actual roof space, it must be rolled into a cylinder. What impresses me about it though , that on closing it again, it still retains a flat tautness, with no visible signs of being rolled up when open. Would my assumption of it being rolled up be correct?. Just curious on that note. Cheers...

"the long sunshade that rolls back" - talking about the shade over the back cargo space. Yes, seems to go forward as it rolls up. Video says it is removable and has a place to store it under the cargo area. Great idea and execution.

My apologies, I should have worded my comment better. I was not speaking of the cover that covers the cargo space from prying eyes, but the long Sun Roof sunshade that rolls back electronically under the Panoramic glass roof. As mentioned, the remaining roof area does not appear long enough to accommodate the amount of shade that is rolled back, hence my assumption it must be rolled up. Not having a Hyundai Dealer in my regional town, I'd have to travel over 200 kilometers to go in and ask a salesperson. So subsequently, I found the easiest solution was to ask Mike of MikesCarinfo, who in my opinion, would be the one best qualified to answer my inquiry. Thank you for your feedback anyhow, and yes, about the cargo cover, that too is a great idea, cheers...

Everything about this SUV is amazing!! They've given us a new key fob and a new chime sound!!! It's beautiful and remodeled and a bit larger than the 2018 Santa Fe!! Could you also do a comparison review of the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and the 2019 Kia Sorento??

Idk about being a fan of the split headlight/ daytime running light design but it is leaps and bounds nicer than the Jeep Cherokee look Imo.

I agree. I hated the Jeep when I first saw it. This is obviously similar but feels like it brings your eyes down a bit with the wide grill and large light wells. Even with the mixed feelings on the headlights, the rest of the car is very well executed

Citroën front end. I guess since Citroën is not sold here, and FCA gave up on that front end on the Cherokee, Hyundai is free to keep refining the look.

Great review... Now, I'm really interested the int engine performance. In-line 4 cylinder 185Hp/8-speed transmission. Seems 185 is really not enough...but, fuel economy looks great. Also, is the drive mode effective at doing anything?

John Henley My suggestion is to get this vehicle with the 2.0 Turbo. This vehicle is too heavy for the 185 hp 2.4 engine. Fuel economy will suffer a bit however. But most people I know who buy a $40k vehicle don’t really care about fuel economy 😀

I test drove one two weeks ago. Acceleration was interesting. Seemed to be in two stages. First stage seemed average. Then better acceleration kicked in.
