It says it can go 10,000ft which is almost 2 miles. I got to get my comfort level up to take it that far away from myself. I don't see as well anymore and when it turns to a dot on the horizon, it gets pretty nerve racking.

Thanks. I generally try to avoid people and then I can fly wherever I want. We do have hawks and vultures that will pull anything out of the sky that they see as competition. I lost a lot of RC planes to those guys but now give them a wide berth.

Seems like it could have gone longer and perhaps lived up to their claim but it given the warning and being over the ocean, I pulled it in straight away. Perhaps a little early. 2/5 bars is 40%!!

There are two different radios in this device. I am able to control the device much further than the Wi-Fi can transmit the picture back to my phone. The good news is that you can pop an SD card in there and get clear video even if the WiFi video goes wonky. Assuming that a football field is 100yds (300ft), I think I was getting 600-900ft with the WiFi (but keep in mind that this was a deserted beach with no other signals). Any other scenario may actually be less but to be fair, that is the limit of my corrected vision so it is pretty far.

Good news! It is currently $300. Granted, still a lot of money but I wasn't going to spend $1400 for a DJI back in the day. This is more reasonable and affordable.

Thanks. It is good to know but it got swept so quickly, I was in full pray mode. I couldn't believe how lightly it touched down exactly were it took off from. I guess this is why they say you shouldn't fly a drone from a boat.😀

I had the original SJRC F11 4k Pro. Same drone only different top cover. ( And lot less $). If you try cancel RTH it becomes really hard to control. And the app doesn't have a homepoint update. Real shame as the follow-me worked great. But if you have to race back in panic you can't use the feature.

@@driewiel amazon had the hs600 on flash sale for $279 in early January. Yeah the do look similar, holystone is claiming 10,000 ft range (kinda doubt it) vs 800m control range & 1200m video transmission range. The rth issue you mentioned doesn't sound like a good time, maybe some bugs in the sjrc app? Waiting for better weather to do a flight of any real distance. Thanks for the info

@@davh73 I said the SJRC F11 but it's actually the SJRC F22 with the F11s 4k controller instead of the longer range F22s controller. All HolyStone drones are existing models with a little twist to make them appear their own brand. And from Amazon you always pay too much. People don't seem to mind though. You can return goods if you don't like it. And fast delivery. Not sure that is worth paying twice as much as directly from China. Unfortunately getting free stuff for review has become more difficult. Such as having to pay for fast but expensive airmail shipping. So you kinda depend on Amazon vendors to review products. Anyhow, if you see HolyStone, Ruko, Exo, you know they are not the original drones. Especially Exo has silly prices. Amazon is full of rebrands so people won't compare and find it much cheaper elsewhere.

I was surprised how good this drone was and at a good price. Sure I might be able to get one a little cheaper I don't want to do the direct China route, not at this price. I have never flown a drone so many times or with as much confidence as this one. Super happy with it. The only thing that is weird is decent is a bit slower than I expected. Sometimes to get it to drop faster, I descend while flying forward or do a spin while dropping to accelerate the drop.

I get that, but such a low weight affects battery, camera, and stability. 9oz is not a serious solution for anything but an indoor racer.
