What about robe of the weald for procing chilled for frost wardens? That 200% increased chance to proc chilled seems like it could be amazing maybe with the wardens frost passive.

I'm glad those crafted sets are gonna be as interesting as they are currently shown, if not performance wise by the end of the PTS cycle then at least conceptually. Our guild is saving 3 sets of attunable stations to be able to put those stations in our guild hall on release so that anyone who isn't ready to buy the new chapter yet can at least have access to them.

My largest issue with the Steamguards is the gamble-aspect of blocking vs. dodging. If an attack can be blocked without much issue, the Steamguards aren't really needed. If its an attack that can potentially one-shot you, it's high risk - no reward to block perfectly. blocking perfectly and roll-dodging have the same outcome -> Not taking damage. But roll-dodge is pretty much guranteed to work. The new mythic is not. I really like the overall idea of implementing some sort of "parry" into the game. Maybe give different bonusses after a perfect block. Activating block exactly when the enemy hits places a debuff on them for x seconds. Maybe have the enemy take 10% more damage for 5 seconds. Or reduce your damage taken by 20% for 5 seconds or something similar. Or a perfect block stuns the enemy for 3 seconds. Like in other games where parrying usually gives you a window of pooprtunity to deal more damage.

I do also think the 0.5 sec window might be too unforgiving for the same reason you stated, you could just roll dodge instead. Maybe increase the window to 0.75, lower the damage reduction to 50% and add in some unique debuff. I don't think it should be a unique DMG adding debuff. Maybe one that causes the target to deal 15% less damage for 5 seconds, which would apply to the whole group. That would make it less selfish and make it more worth to try and parry consistently. Call it "Blisters" or something in keeping with the dwemer steam theme.

Thanks for the update. I am liking the idea of The Shadow Queen's Cowl for gathering in Craglorn on my speed harvester. I would be willing to go farther into the group areas with it.

Without a doubt, the model is almost the exact same and seeing people through walls is just the Detect Life enchantment.

I really love the new trial tank set, I've wanted mixed survival/buff options for a long time and better yet the set is just flat mit, not just vs direct damage so it'll help against powerful dots in high end content. Better yet if groups end up running this and EC like you suggest perhaps the pug meta can shift towards defensive ults for more consistent clears.

That overland medium set is... interesting. I believe that's the largest source of non-proc weapon and spell power from a single set now. That, alone, has some potential. It's not as much as sioria or riptide, but it doesn't have those upkeep requirements, either. I'm going to be playing with it for a few things, for sure, for some of my more lazy toons.

The Tank parry mythic is exciting af. A lot of trials fights are hectic and it'll def require some testing and getting familiar with, but it provides tanks with a new reflexive playstyle which is totally viable AND entirely optional. Like it'll never become something that tanks are expected to master, but imagine plinking 1000 cuts with zero prebuff. Just the first example that came to mind, but the theorycrafting cogs are churning. And on the medium trial set, It seems to me like that tooltip damage is intended to be per stack, so x3. That feels right considering the cooldown but we'll see

I'm happy that they changed Threads of War 2 and 4 piece to pen and crit. Wish it was 2 crit but oh well lol. Really wanna use it on my sorc concussed is already pulling 10k + dps so leaning even further into that sounds like fun. Using storm-cursed just cause lightning theme is fun but with my napkin math threads of war will out parse storm cursed. So that's fun.

In other games, parries are used as a defensive tool for squishy characters. Which makes me think this is for solo characters, who can use full damage sets and block bosses attacks. Is it good? I don't think so.

Steamguards is what I'm going to use on my sorc pvp build. I rarely block, and if I ever do block, I'd want this to proc. I always roll/streak. I'm going to use this and piss off a lot of people, I can hear the nightblade skills/meteors/etc. I know when to block out of habit.

On my stamblade, relequen + aegis + selene and relequen + symmetry of the weald + selene parsed almost exactly the same, so i could see the status set being meta

Macabre Vintage can somewhat function like PB used to in RND's no? just quick RND runs on every character, like joining up with low lvl RND and run through? Though it requires killing blow so thats ugh.. if it just exploded after you touched it, it would be even better.

Ps. I think Mora Scribe's Thesis is a legit oakensoul / dungeon set , being forced to more light pieces gives more pen which is good in 4man content. Oakensoul overall is better in smaller groups or solo. So it's good in solo and 4man content afaik.

The best item in this game is the mythic cowl and its an rp item says alot about this game... it makes you 100% undetectable when you pickpocket, even the blue ring guards cant spot you

Yea solid sets, i would love to use the medium trial set but it feels very underwhelming :( High isle was the last time i remember a lot of new sets were shining. All the raid sets from DSR are good to amazing and Orders Wrath

As I was testing oakensoul out for a friend the crit set was 90k, the medium set was 88k... it may work better on arcanist

The medium trial set 5 pieces bonus actually looks weaker than Nirn, but keep in mind it's a trial set, so it means it brings the minor slayer, and so can be used with Nirn, and not in replacement. Although it could benefit from a little buff for sure, I actually love the idea to finally have a trial set being a bit more offensive, last one we got was... Whorl of depths I think ?

Im gonna be a templar, standing in my runes, with scribed 33% mitigation and class mastery. And with 25% crit chance from that crafted set. Charge to an enemy player with a gap closer and jab them down if someone is too aggressive and disturbs me from farming bosses.

On Threads of war on Warden: I don't think this will be good on warden because i already have a 99% uptime on chilled and brittle. And Frostbite might just become the U42 meta on warden, as it is very strong even now. Where i see this shine would be physical damage to cause more bleed stacks.

It’s not about the uptime on chilled, it’s about the extra 1 tick of dmg per second from chilled from your light attacks. That’s a lot of extra dps. Also, physical dmg doesn’t proc bleeds, it procs sundered. Bleed damage procs bleeds.

You have several types of people who enjoy them: the casual ones who just want to chill when playing, the ones who struggle when there is a very active rotation, and the ones with physical pain which makes them unable to move their fingers too much or too quickly also pretty much need those simple builds.

the medium set is a bit boring...would have liked something like above 50% health + X crit damage, below 50% health, crit hits heal you for x

I'm excited for two of these trial sets. Even if it ends up not being meta, Mora's Scribes is still pretty good for Oaken in Dungeons, I think. Oaken gives 5 Major Buffs and 11 Minor Buffs and Empower (i.e. 640 Crit Chance and 11% Crit Damage from set). For Sorcs, if you run Bound Aegis or Deadric Tomb, you get Minor Resolve or Minor Prophecy respectively (Oaken already gives Minor Protection), accounting for 12th Minor Buff, and if someone activates your Atro, you get Major Berserk, accounting for the 6th Crit Chance bonus from set (making it 768). So, with no other assistance beyond someone activating Atro synergy, you can achieve 75% of the sets full bonus by yourself. I might try going all body pieces and dropping Thief for Shadow or dropping Sergeants for Storm Master or Deadly Strikes. In Trials, I don't think that Oaken would see as much use from it, but for Dungeons, I think this is a good option for Oaken users. I'm not a math guy, so I'm hoping the build editor on UESP updates with them soon, so I can see them visualized.

The symmetry of the weald set would be pretty strong for non-cheese runs in the archive. 200% status effect chance in there is a massive damage increase, and the healing buff wouldnt be unwelcome at all in there. If youre not relying on corrosive or reducing enemy weapon and spell damage cheese, itd be a great set for focused efforts.

People typically use Heartland Conqueror there with charged traits, that already guarantees status proc every spammable. But yes, its gonna be nice for every skill.

@@rob679 definitely, charged heartland conq gives close to 500% increased chance. This with a charged weapon will give 445% increased chance with 10% extra healing when you really want it. That seems pretty solid to me

I disagree, they keep slowly stripping the thumbs away from gameplay....backbar skills always on, status effects getting buffed and now sets to support them more, more bs procs, etc. I wish there were new sets that just gave big buffs to dmg so the rest requires active player input beyond weaving and keeping up stacks

@AnonymousQwerty No, they just want to get people into tanking in pve. Queue times are super long for all other roles. Without a tank 50%of the time group finder will queue in. If you queue in as a tank, group finder is almost instant. Finding tank for organized groups is just as difficult. No one wants to tank because there is so much responsibility, no appreciation, and is unforgiving. So yes, they are trying to help pve tank situation.
