So many guys here negatively compare this watch to the Rolex GMT Submarine but very few of you spend your money for the Rolex just because it's too expensive.
I can tell you I own a Rolex Batman, I like this watch as a travel beater, sometimes I go places and if I decide to leave a resort, you just never know. I this is a great looking watch I like the 50 ATM and the inner dial is like a dive watch bezel., but why I haven't purchased this watch yet is because of the GMT function. You should be able to set the GMT hand to your home time and then set the hour hand to the time you are in.Who cars for the third time zone I am not a pilot. This watch's function don't work like the Batman, yes price difference you could say, but the Steinhart blows away the Rolex in other ways all on it's own. If the GMT function worked the way I care to see it work I would buy it at retail and not look for the grey market or used. Just my opinion , how you have yours and not looking to insult.
GREAT video...I appreciate all the close-ups with steady hands! This shows me what it will really look like. Amazing that after 5 years, yours is one of the BEST videos on this watch that I just bought now! My only constructive criticism would be to try to make it about 10 minutes & say the same thing instead of 16.
I own this watch. It’s beautiful and the price is more than fair for such a quality timepiece. Let me put it this way...buying this watch makes me think I got a good deal. If I bought a Rolex, I’d think that Rolex got the best deal.
Dived with this watch 2 weeks ago in palau islands. down to 40-45 Atmos (400-450feet). man did this function well without hydro bubbles, serves is purpose . Just like my Rolex sea dweller and my Omega sea master co axial I am getting another steinhart, this time the Pepsi
Why would you dive with such a watch? Exposing it to salt water isnt that good idea in my opinion. I am a watch collector and have a special watch for diving: a Suunto diving computer. Why people dive with a mechanical watch I honestly dont understand.
I don’t see why anyone today would purchase a too expensive tool watch. That said I loved my $2k and $3.5 K Rollie’s but now - @ SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for a stainless steel Submariner? Not only no, but “Hell no.”
I have this watch. It shouldn't be compared to a Rolex, it's 42mm not like the Rolex. It is also titanium. I love this watch, Steinhart has really done a great job with this one.
How accurate is it? And do you think it will last 10 years? I think value is being able to spend less for a watch that will last a long time. What say you? I am wanting to compare it with a very similar style/size watch, the Davosa GMT 42mm Batman. This is more money and has the 2893.
High quality stainless is actually stronger than titanium but yeah it is much heavier. Heavier doesn't necessarily mean worse though, often a heavier weight can feel more quality. I like the dark more matte look of titanium but I can understand people preferring the silvery look of stainless. Stainless is also more scratch resistant, although titanium is more rust resistant. And of course stainless is cheaper, so it might bring down the price of the watch a bit. Personally if the watch came in both stainless and titanium I would have a difficult time choosing, and if the stainless was considerably cheaper it would be an attractive option. Love the look of this watch though, and with GMT, ceramic bezel, display window, 500m waterproof, it was a no brainer for me. Just ordered one today.
Nice looking watch! I'm contemplating getting one but I have the Steinhart Ocean One with the black ceramic bezel already. Trying to find excuses to get the GMT. Let me know if you want to sell yours 😉 so I can get a good deal
Nice introduction to a truly stunning watch. I've subscribed as I was impressed with your presentation. I'm only 5 minutes into this but thought I'd just ask for this small clarification, I'm watching this in Australia and like many other reviews you kindly advise the estimated price which is of great interest and helps to evaluate where the watch stands when compared with other similar examples however, when you advise price could you please be sure to state which currency you are referring to if it's in euro or US$ I can later use a conversion table but as we also use $ dollars this clarification early in the review would make a comparison just that much easier. (if it does clearly state this further into this, I take it back with an apology) :=) Further to this minor thing, I must include to commend you in having clean, well manicured nails together with clean hands, although I don't think anyone would take particular notice I appreciate and recognise you do consider it does add to the overall presentation style, I'll certainly watch out for further posts, thanks.
this is a great watch, it is like rolex GMT Mastter II but with its own character, domed sapphire, chapter ring, titanium, ideal 42mm size, everything is well balance , very good price..and it is accurate to +5 seconds per 24 hours
The Lume looks fantastic . However how long does it last ??? I understand a original Rolex is out of the reach of average Joe. However I have worked in the commercial dive industry for a long time .. Most SAT Divers use Standard issue Kirby Morgan , or Seiko because they will get mashed up fairly quickly... Rolex and Omega are for the bar and nice dive story 's..
I wish the chapter ring had the 24 hour markers and the bezel was a dive time bezel. Then it would be perfect. And the logo could go and just have the brand name.

What's wrong with GMT function on Steinhart? cuz I'm about to get it and I use GMT function daily. Batman's GMT is exactly the same, both don't have 3rd time zone as well, tho it wouldn't kill to make 24 hour circle somewhere on a dial, so you could track real time, one zone on the dial, and rotate bezel to the 3rd zone.
@@LordArioh It doesn't operate the same why, example Rolex gmt , you can take the gmt hand set for your time zone where you live and use the hour hand for your now time zone Then use bezel for third time zone. The steinhardt is a beautiful watch. There gmt hand doest work the same way If you watch the video it will show how you can't separate the hour hand and the gmt hand like the rolex. So it isn't as easy to use, but there is a major price difference between the two. Also watch other videos on the Steinhardt it can explain in better. Either way good luck with your purchase.
@@mchoch4576 I got Swiss Military GMT relatively the same, you pull crown to the first position to change date/set GMT hand. to the second position to set time and GMT hand will move accordingly. isn't it the same system everywhere? Just checked out, its exactly like my SM GMT. so should be ok)
@@LordArioh Sorry to say no I really wanted the steinhardt because of the diver depth But since I travel Because it's operation doesn't work the same I'm still looking But thanks for your suggestion.
There's no reason the colors black and blue should be off limits just because someone else has done it. Should your car not have wheels because other cars had wheels before yours did?
First, lets get your facts straight. Titanium has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any natural metal known to man. Pure titanium is stronger than standard steel, while being less than half the weight, and can be made into even stronger alloys. Second, the way Steinhart crafts/brushes the titanium bracelet makes the watch 40% more scratch resistant than stainless steel. I know this for 2 reasons, I own the same watch and the coveted Seiko shogun (007) original. It's actually, one of the reasons Steinhart makes a titanium watch in the first place. Get your facts straight before you do a review.
titanium in watches is always much less resistant to scratches to steel. get your facts straight. it is a fact. not because i own several steel and titanium swiss watches (for it's not a reason to be right) but because it is a fact
Good grief who promised you perfect accuracy on a you tube video. He has no obligation to make sure your nice and warm and cozy. It's not a perfect world. If you go through the rest of your life expecting perfection your life must be pure hell
well luckily the Steinhart aproach is the better one... with the GMT Hand Arrow tip not conflicting with the hour markings and the 2. timezone actually being readable in the dark.. Not to mention the execution 50 ATM Water resistant far nicer crystal, decorated movement.... At the price of a singlle Rolex full service... If i had a GMT Master i would pass the next service and use the saved money to get the Steinhart and have a more capable GMT Watch while preserving the nice look ;-)
eltonus2 Yeah Rolex just copies the new companies and puts a higher price tag on the watches without providing anything meaningful. m.imgur.com/gallery/9Geak
its good and everything but its just not appeal to me - watch looks like a toy .. Personally i can not take this design seriously its just looks like a toy .. a rolex batman watch version for kids
