Makes no sense to buy a commuter if you're easy with your LS-equipped car with all the stock gearing and unmolested valve train components. Headers, exhaust, cold air, and a tune could even improve your MPG's to bring one of these cars to mid-high 20's in MPG. Treat your car right and it will do the same to your wallet.
I'm a GM guy but I grew up with Foxbody Stangs.. my buddy had one when we were 15 and it was fun. And those Termi Cobras? They dominate! I used to own a '97 WS6, it was so fun and looked gorgeous. I love the rear wing.
Both cars of this generation is a gem to the eye. Just like now...20 years later there so many fans of it. More so the TA. With more curves and holes to....let air into (you dirty minded freaks). I'm a chevy man through and through. These gens will never die. When it comes to looks....id take a 4th gen Camaro or TA over a brand new Bentley or merc any day. T-tops with and a sick v8 rumble will get you more pussy then Hefner in a Maybach. Promise you. Plus you retain your manhood
eh, theyre not that hard to find luckily u just gotta be patient. a t/a is the next car im getting, im nearly ready to get it. whippin a 93 base model firebird rn.
I ran a bone stock '01 SS m6 when my '01 WS6 was also stock. From a dig, 20 roll, and 40 roll. Always walked away as we got rolling. Everything I've seen attributes the difference to the better design of the WS6 Ram Air system
I have an 02 SS 35 th anniversary.... The way the air goes 180 degrees around is too restricted, not enough sealed pressure to be effective... Z28 w no scoop has exactly the same et as SS w hood .... Gimmick
when i was 18 back in 03-04 i had a new z06 and my gf had a year old ws6 we used to have so much fun goin to meets i got her hooked on vettes after my fifth one now im a porsche guy and she has a z06 from what i was told
I’ve had a catfish and absolutely loved it, minus the interior creaks. But the WS6 could easily be considered one of the greatest muscle cars ever made, I still say it’s the best looking ever made to this day.
That LS1 block has something in its roar that no other modern GM LS7,8,9,10,11,12/Hellcat crap/Shelby supercharged garbage with a million horsepower can make them scream like that!!!
@@crimsonlight4205dude don't diss the 5L, they have taken over the v8 muscle car game in out of the box performance and the mustang will be the last v8 muscle car standing when all others have been discontinued.
@@romper4444 lmao no they haven’t, demon still holds the out of the box power record. Unfortunately they will be the last ones making v8s for a year or two so they’ve definitely got that. Sucks that the hemi can’t meet the new emissions bs…
@@crimsonlight4205 dude a demon does not count, I'm talking naturally aspirated power. And who said anything about records? Look at the new z06 motor if ya wanna talk impressive. But Any v8 can make 1000 hp with forced induction, that don't make it special. A 5.0 is making almost 100hp per liter in bullit guise. And I'm a mopar guy, but I give huge props to what ford's done with the mustang platform and all the iterations, the voodoo motor is incredible. The mustang will be the last remaining v8 muscle car u can buy in North America, Mark my words. They've taken over the game because u can't get entry level v8 muscle car performance at the cost of them, anywhere else. Dollar to performance ratio is unmatched, They are still attainable to the average Blue collar man, and that's what muscle cars are all about. Demons? We are never gonna own one. They are unicorns only to dream about.
@@romper4444 had no idea you were talking about n/a. Out of the box would typically mean from the factory, so that’s what I was assuming you meant. And that goes to the scat since it puts out 480 or so. And I have yet to see an affordable v8 mustang. Haven’t even seen a gt go for less than 70k. Meanwhile chargers and challengers go for less than that. They likely will be the last ones producing v8s in cars, but that’s only because no one else is bothering trying to keep up with the godawful emission laws being put in place. Respect to them for keeping it alive tho. Even if Ford vehicles are absolute garbage, they’ve got that going for them.
@@timothythomas1737 The ram air on the WS6 is much more direct flow into the airbox. The ram air on the SS has to flow forward after it enters the ram scoop to get into the airbox. On my WS6, if you like into the ram scoops you can see my CAI filters. That said, in a race that close the difference could've been any number of things. One engine may just be a little tighter tolerances than the other.
For the win? Ss pulled first then shifted, ws6 pulled and then race aborted due to slow mustang lol. Ws6 was at peak rpm after Ss shifted which is why it started pullin, if race played out it woulda shifted back over to Ss pulling away on top, just the fact of manuals better ratios on top. Just my opinion tho
A buddy of mine had a 99 Trans am with slp air box and a flow master muffler it was a high 13 second car because it was a A4 with a 2.73 gear. It was a turd until 40 mph. A stock LT1 Camaro with 3.73 pulled him down the street once.
fastfordman1965 he clearly didn’t launch the car properly then, those cars run mid to low 13’s bone stock on a bad day if you don’t foot brake to 2000rpm and then hit the gas. With proper foot brake launch procedure in place, a stock LS1 TA can pull off 12.9-13.0 if the conditions are right.
I have a 93 formula lt1 .. id never sell my car ... only upgrades ..air filter an bottom of box cut open an bigger intake ..made hood vents open with grinder poped blk peace back on ... i am making it a shaker. with a 79 6.6 shaker of a t/a an making the tail lights 70s formula style with 6 cyl tail lights painted with black stripes ... but shes .all factory 178 kms Canadian eh ! 1990s LT1 the strongest small block chev ever made an can handle the most hp on stock block ! facts ;)
LT1's were ok. They are heavier than an LS1 and make less hp stock. The 'opti spark' was the biggest issue on those engines...still nice looking cars! I wanted the 93' when it fist came out (had a poster on my bedroom wall) but I was poor and they only came with a v6 at that time.
I do when I'm racing unless it's actually night, not just sunset. I've actually torn the headlight cover from going 60-120MPH merging onto the highway, I have to replace it, hahahaha.
That and 3 gears before 1:1 which is D in the auto and 4th for the manual. Stays higher in the rpm after each shift. Also, 3.23 was a performance ratio for auto typically it’s like 2.73.
joel wail ram air, the hood scoops with a ram air intake is the best combination. But I don't really think companies make an intake for an ls1 f body that isn't ram air
I just bought my ws6 !!!! Got it from a. Mechanic...540hp with already upgraded everything ready for that turbo to be installed easily will push 750 -800:)
I bet very few on here owned any of these cars I did the 98 Z28 and I was never beat by no WS6 trans am ever matter fact I never was beat by any thing and they was alot who challenged me but none could win now let me here the hate
It's too bad that Pontiac has gone the way of the dodo and the Crapmaro is on it's way out real soon. There's an awful lot of pissed off owners and orphan cars out there.😂🤣😂
Aaand then a filthy mustang casual. Fuck I want a ws6, I currently have a 1997 v6 camaro, but all the ws6 are still selling for like 20k in my area. Fuck
