Wow, very awesome. I have a Venture HC and I managed to keep the firmware updated via their Mapsource software package fine, but little else. Garmin's GPS's are fantastic but their instructions for operation seem lacking especially on calibration and fine tuning, or even simple use explanations, and things on these units are not all intuitive. For example: no where did it ever clue me into the awesomeness of enabling WAAS, and I also discovered in a sub menu a selection for battery type (Alkaline, NiMh, or Lithium) assumably to help it run more efficiently. Nice clear tutorials! many thanks. May I ask? I have an ETrex20. Another tutorial points out that the Etrex20s and models below use GPS guided compass, not magnetic field guided however in your tutorial and in the Etrex20 tutorial I've been following, it allows you to select in the compass preferences btwn "GPS" compass and "Magnetic". That choice doesn't make sense of course as these lower model's compasses are GPS guided, 'not' Magnetic, ergo declination is confusing in set-up preferences. Can you explain then, considering these are GPS guided compasses, why you chose 'Magnetic' in your compass preference? Thanks!

Hi i think your videos are really good an d very helpful. I took your advice and bouight the cable and driver cd but was unable to install the driver so i'm still stuck with the old software 2.14. The reason being that the driver cd is in Chinese, do you know of any websites where i could download the driver software in English? kind regards Kevin.
I like the Etrex 10, simply because it stops you from becoming too reliant on it. Some people I hike with could only use a map for toilet paper at the best of times, too reliant on their phones and expensive GPS systems with topographic maps to give them information.
