Not a bad video overall, but saying they rarely fail is wrong. GM FPRs from the 90s to mid 2000s are prone to FPR issues. Increased ethenol in fuels breaks down the internal diaphragm. Best clue is fuel in the vacuum system. Take that one to the bank! Look out for hard starting once warm, uneven / surging idles, and failure to srart when warm without foot on the gas. You won't have DT codes either. Big giveaways.

Mine starts up fine warm, but when driving i get a bad hesitation. BUT i can turn it off and then back on if i wait a minute or 2 and it will be fine for about 1-3 minutes. I’ve replaced fuel pump and filter… next is my fuel pressure regulator

awesome video thanks for taking your time . i will now get to that as the number 4 of try to fix . i replaced wastegate flappers...wastegate actuators ...spark plugs ....volvo s80t6 2002 . theres no vacum lines attached to the regulator , but i will with 300.000 miles on the car - replace the pump and regulator , think it will be in place

I have a 95 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3 l very smooth and solid engine just did a complete fuel upgrade maintenance on it new fuel regulator new fuel injectors new fuel pump new fuel filter that was the major components to the whole fuel system and she's only twenty-seven years old with 220,000 miles on the odometer and purrs like a kitten

If there is fuel in the vacuum line, is that also a rich symptom? I greatly appreciate these tips, although I am trying to diagnose a P0171 system too lean bank 1 on my 99 corolla. So I'm wondering if a failing fuel pressure regulator or fuel check valve can cause a lean system rather than a rich system.

2000 Accord 3.0 v6 running lean.... And between 40 and 50 mph I can feel a pretty good skip especially when she's hot... Anyone experienced this before?? Thanks

Any clues as to what can cause the fuel pressure regulator to repeatedly fail? I changed mine midwinter last year on my 2006 4.3l vortec gmc savana (located inside the intake plenum🤦‍♂️🤬)...now I'm starting to get the same issue again.

if i learned correctly from your video and for example i have low fuel pressure, i can confirm it by removing the vacuum hose from the regulator. if the fuel pressure rises then something is causing low fuel pressure right?

Hi, I just replaced my injectors from a 1 hole to a 4 hole, now getting po172-po175 oxy sensors 1&2. My regulator is in my fuel filter and was replaced 2 year's ago. Do you think it's my regulator?? And not my oxy sensors??

Yes. If the fuel pressure regulator is not functioning properly, it can cause the fuel pressure to be too high or too low, which can result in a lack of fuel reaching the engine under high load conditions. This can cause a bog down or hesitation when attempting to accelerate rapidly.

i never taken my car to have work done. Done it myself. I got caught in a flash flood. Engine shut off. i sucked water out with a shop vac. i replaced spart plugs and wires i can smell unvurnt fuel.. Engine is missing now. Im getting ready to add heet as well as premium fuel

Yeah my 98 Olds Delta 88 3.8 L wasn't hard to start wasn't missing not running rich but the intake exploded yesterday morning when I tried to get in to it to go to the store soon as it cranked over it blew the intake apart! Caught my engine bay on fire. Don't think it's worth repairing.

Dang. Sorry to hear that. My daughters Buick LeSabre 2011 blew a dang head gasket recently. I wish I could fix it and save the car. The body is real good shape no rust or anything but I don't know really what caused it to blow gasket unless it overheated going up the steep mountain she lives at. It's always something it looks like.
