I used to feel like a dummy because I had to watch your videos so many times and so slow to figure out what to do but I find now I have not wasted my time. I have learned so much from you. Your way of informing when you are doing something so beautiful is amazing and you are a true treasure! Thank you for your good heart, generosity, kindness and talent.
Hi, I realize this video is from about 6 yrs ago, but I just now came across it and even before watching the entire tutorial, I wanted to say how much I appreciate your fun-casual style of teaching. 💕 So many people wrongly assume that a casual approach automatically means that person isn't serious about anything, and that's just not the case with all. I love the saying: "work hard, play hard" and as a professional teacher of elementary school children, I know that it's even more important to have a good sense of humor (as well as good classroom management) when presenting material. The same is true with adults. Anyway, Thank You for being a great instructor!!!
This water droplet tutorial illustrates shading techniques and the results better than anything I have ever seen, I can't wait to try this out. Thank you.
I would love to see more lessons where we focus on one object, such as the droplet, wave, shaded ball, fire, bubbles, rainbows and rocks. I know you have stuff like this included in paintings but I was talking about just focusing on one item where we practice over and over again to get it right. This droplet is a perfect example. You rock!
I so agree with you Shannon I think we need to do more of these. We will have a few more before the end of year and then be kicking it up in 2017. I have some plans
I feel like such an idiot. You have been doing this all along. I was sick for a few weeks and missed all your quests on all these cool things like rock, bark and tree branches. Keep doing what you are doing; you are touching a lot of people in a positive way.
love all the great tips and instruction on all things painting and artsy .. we love you Cinnamon and John .. hugs and sending light and love for your hearts .. see you at the easel soon !!!
Scot IT IS! this is 100% not sponsored I JUST LOVE this stuff. It comes in finishes and I now have ot have a bottle in the studio at all times. Almost as important as coffee these days
hahaha... coffee. I do some fine art painting but mostly window splashes and art and wouldn't use it on windows but for non-commercial work it looks great. Thanks.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. Who knew there is so much to painting a little water drop? Amazing. Lots of love and hugs to you Cooney family. ♡
Thank you Cinnamon And John for everything you do . I have learnt so much from watching you and appreciate that even in a time of great sadness you still make sure that we all get an art lesson . Love you guys so much and know that I'm sending you love and light your way . God Bless your family 💐
Love love love this turorial! ❤️ You make art accessible for so many people in a easy fun way, you should both be so proud of what your doing. Sending love and healing for your family!
Thank you. I have interest in water and fog. I am a mostly a self taught acrylic artist but I enjoy getting help from your videos. I find water in it's various forms, the most challenging subjects.Outdoor subjects are my focus water, in it various forms, rocks and clouds are my favorite and most challenging.
I like how you teach it in steps! Totally makes sense. I did have this in art school, but it's been so long ago I really needed this refresher! Thank you!
It's much easier to paint a giant water droplet, like this, than to paint a water droplet sized water droplet! lol But, great work still and I love your colourful style! Thank You :-)
Thank you so much Cinnamon and John for taking the time and do this video for all of us Sherpettes! Simply BEAUTIFUL water droplet!!! Lots of love light and hugs to the family!!
Thank you for the in depth lesson on rain drops. Funny how a little Ole rain drop can be so complex. Fantastic tutorial! sending love, peace & virtual hugs to the Cooney family. ♡♡♡
As usual your instruction is amazing Mrs Cinnamon. Thank you for the explanation. Sometimes when I am feeling apprehensive about a painting subject YT miraculously shows me a tutorial you have done covering the subject and I am always impressed and pleased with the results.
Thank you so much Cinnamon for taking the time to do this video. I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. I love this video and it is so easy to do.
Very cool! I am going to get that Golden product. I also use Open because my paints dry in a heartbeat in Colorado. Ginger's videos on this are also phenomenal! Thank you for sharing, Cinnamon.
I was at my art supply store last week to get some glazing medium for a canvas I want to paint. I was told to buy transparent white paint, to achieve the look we get when looking into a glass window when it is raining. ??? Is there a glaze that will give you this effect? I don't know of a product called "transparent white paint". Is there such a thing? Do you use glazing medium to brush over the painting for this look of viewing through window glass when it is raining? Phew, this is a mouthful....Do you have a video explaining the use of different glazes? It sure would help me understand the concept glazing mediums, and which ones to purchase. Thanks so much for all you do on RU-vid.
zinc white or mixing white are both transparent..I dont know a lot about glazing but I do know if I want mist, clouds or rain I use zinc white..You can get the effect with highlights using transparent whites..Titanium is opaque and much stronger/brighter so wont work as well
Where is your home base? Will you be coming to Denver CO ? Love your wackiness and easy to follow instructions. You make me want to teach what I learn from you.
Great tutorial. I'm hoping you'll do another in the future where you show us what to do if the surface we're painting on isn't a flat color. I would think we'd have to "magnify" the background that shows through the bubble somehow.
We are moving to a set of lessons where we will be exploring the convex lensing in water drops and general water light interactions. We will be looking and surfaces and even drop effects. Fingers crossed. I am doing 1 hoot 2 hoot and 3 hoot studies and mini Quests like this
