Sometimes when a perfume works with your body chemistry, it will do that without you spraying a lot. I’ve literally sprayed one very weak spritz and been asked what I’m wearing 16 hrs later or been told they could tell I was somewhere because they smelled me (my perfume). When the perfume is “your perfume” then it just happens.
1. no visible panty lines 2. don’t wear running shoes with a nice outfit, specifically jeans 3. don’t reveal too much skin in too many spots 4. wear appropriate footwear for snow ( boots !!! ) 5. dont wear airpods during a conversation, be polite smh 6. avoid wearing sunglasses inside 7. don’t over-match, excluding blacks ( find matching blacks, though ) 8. always be loose on top and tight on bottom, or vice versa 9. do not wear white to a wedding >:( 10. age does not define the clothes you should wear, wear whatever you’re comfortable in
I have chunky/clunky running shoes that always look weird with skinny jeans. I have ones that are sleeker and look ok with the skinny jeans. sometimes you just need to wear the sneakers haha

AMEN, Shea!!! Dressing for your age is a thing of the past! Dress for your body shape and wear what you love with confidence! I'm 61 and love to stay current and on-trend with my fashion/style! I don't feel 61 on the inside, so why would I want to look 61 on the outside. Just be tasteful in the way you style things as you get older! I still wear jeans almost every day. My favorite thing is when young women follow my fashion Instagram and the students at the university where my hubby is a professor works compliment my outfit! Even when you're a grandma, you can still look fabulous!
Maybe it’s just me but I thought you looked so cute with the sweater, jeans and running shoes. I would have never thought it was a fashion faux pas! I have worn running shoes with my jeans and a sweatshirt of tee shirt. 🤷🏼♀️
In my opinion in you're wearing a very casual hoodie or t shirt, it's alright to wear running shoes. With a nice top, I'd steer clear. I'm not a running shoes type gal, I never really wear them, but that's my personal take!
I agree. This "suggestion" needs a bit more clarification. I live in Arizona. Winter here can be too cool for sandals and seems to warm for boots. I like a comfy shoe. Ideas?
Diane Erickson - there are a lot of comfy shoes out there, it does not have to be tennis shoes for every occasion. You can wear cute flats, low heel booties, or a dressier shoe with good support and cushioning. And if you wear tennis shoes, like best boi said, don’t wear a nicer/dressy top with them. It’s just looks tacky ☹️

Love, love, love wearing sneakers with outfits. It depends on the form and colors you choose. And I loooove a white monochromatic look. Looks so chic and clean.
Seriously! I always say, "Dress for the weather, not the season." For example, when it's *technically* spring, yet there's snow on the ground....wear.your.darn.boots!😑 When you aren't dressed appropriately for the weather, it comes across as immature and lazy.
I know there are people who really cant afford expensive winter staples and thats understandable, although I of course feel really bad for them. But a few years ago I saw a guy on the bus stop- no hat, no mittens or gloves, his very expensive Armani coat widely open, and a burberry scarf just hanging loosley over his shoulders. He was shivering like a leaf. I was wearing arctic boots, a thick didriksdon coat, two layers underneath my sweather, scarf, hat, knitted mittens, you name it. The temperature was around -25°C/ - 13°F and there were snow everywere. And all I could think was "What an idiot" 🤷♀️
MissC it happens here in the USA as well, especially guys. I don’t know what they’re trying to prove 😂 I always have a jacket or two in my car, just in case the spring or fall weather changes.
I think tennis shoes look good with clothes, especially like Cole Haans. I think she means running sneakers you actually work out in. I do think it looks weird considering there are so many sneaker varieties out there.
I agree in general-but every once in awhile it’s fun to wear sunglasses while shopping; grocery stores in particular are a hoot-just to channel your “I’m a Hollywood starlet-try to figure out which one I am“

Thank you so much for encouraging those of us who are older to keep dressing in a way that’s fun, current, and reflects our personality, rather than succumbing to the pressure to “dress our age”. At 60+, and with foot problems, I recently walked into a comfort shoe specialty shop with the specific request that I didn’t want to walk out of the store with “old lady shoes”, which I fully expected they would immediately steer me towards. I purposely wore skinny jeans and a black leather moto jacket that day, to send a clear signal that I wasn’t about to put up with any ageist stereotyping. Ended up buying a pair of very comfy - and totally adorable - combat boots. They suit me and I love them *so* much! 😎😉 Sometimes we have to just proactively nip that 💩 in the bud! 😂

Kay Dee - Good for you! 👍 Same here; I had gotten into an athleisure rut, then realized that I wasn’t enjoying getting dressed anymore. I had also lost my previous confidence. I took a few months to spend a lot of time on fashion videos and Pinterest, with a focus on trying to identify my personal style. I came to the conclusion that “edgy classic” feels most like *me* and added back some items (like the moto jacket) that I once had loved, but felt too old to wear. Now I feel liberated and I’m having fun again!
I totally agree! However, I have prescription sunglasses and sometimes forget to bring my regular glasses when I go into stores. I usually try to take my glasses off but if I actually want to see I can’t 😂 I need to get contacts again
Definitely agree with the mini skirt one but with dresses it really depends on the dress. Obviously nothing tight, too short, or revealing at all but there are definitely some skirts and dresses that are totally appropriate to wear to a funeral.
I do go grocery shopping in my flannel jammie pants. (I know it's wrong, I don't care😏) My nephews school had to put out a letter to the parents of the school that sweats/pjs are not appropriate to wear to a kids school choir/band concert. Now that I thought should be able to go unsaid.

I know she didn’t think about this, but I am blind and since I’m blind Allaire of tissue isn’t there to protect my brain from direct contact with light, so I wear sunglasses inside. Not all the time because that’s tedious and annoying and I don’t have the patience for it. But sometimes

Lol totally respect that others don’t want to wear sneakers with nice pants or jeans but that’s EXACTLY what I’d do! I think it’s fun to mix fancy with casual and it’s usually not predictable
The exception for the sunglasses inside rule is if you are going into a store with bright lights and you just had your eyes dilated at the eye doctor's!
So many are disagreeing with Shea's rule of no athletic sneakers with skinny jeans. I agree with Shea. I don't think it looks fashionable either. Invest in a comfortable pair of cool sneakers like Golden Goose, Steve Madden, or Michael Kors to wear with jeans. Save the athletic sneakers for the gym or actual exercise.
@M M I have to disagree. I think flare jeans definitely need a heel of some sort to balance the flare. I personally wouldn't even wear a sleek fashion sneaker with them. I would do a cool block heel boot or 70's inspired platform sandal. You need to see a bit of the foot/shoe or it looks weird. The leg looks much longer and more flattering
The "rule" of not wearing runners/sneakers with jeans is one that I can not and will not ever follow. I will be 100 yrs old wearing sneakers with jeans and probably a graphic tee shirt. #jeansandsneakersforlife. I like watching your videos and have learned some useful things as well as being entertained. Love your sense of humor and how you don't seem to take yourself too seriously. Keep up the good work.
Not sure how many of y’all remember the song « Sunglasses at Night » by Canadian singer Cory Hart. It was a hit in 1984 (😱). I was on a flight to Toronto and this guy coming up the aisle was wearing his sunglasses. First I thought « Poser », then I recognized him and it made total sense 😎
I don’t get what’s wrong with wearing sneakers and jeans. Jeans are very informal and so are sneakers. Balmain pairs sneakers and jeans all the time. So do most fashion designers. I genuinely struggle to see anything wrong with it.
I agree...that's why I said tons of sneakers look fab with jeans. It was specially athletic running sneakers that look odd to me with jeans and a nice sweater or something. Just my opinion! But at the end of the day - who really cares!

Love the dressing “room” 💕 One needs an entire room dedicated to clothes, shoes and jewelry. Everything out in the open on shelves makes dressing properly with ease.
I wear prescription sunglasses while driving and occasionally I forget my regular glasses when I go to the store, so I’m forced to wear my sunglasses INSIDE and feel so douchy!!
Because girls and boys are different. In order to look pretty and girly, you dress a certain way. If you're okay dressing like a guy, feel free (you will so appreciate the depth of your pants pockets, I promise).

I have mixed feelings on sunglasses. Catch me hungover at brunch there is no chance I’m taking them off.. however I love the “big reveal” of taking my sunglasses off when walking in somewhere! You never know what’s hiding behind sunglasses and a hat!!!
I just think this is a more youthful style. Like, more elegant women would wear trousers and more classic shoes unless the situation asks especially for skinny jeans and athletic shoes.
Paulette Newman exactly!! I’m 5’3” and skinny jeans look best on my figure and height. And sometimes I wear tennis shoes like Nikes and converse would be cute AF. I thought when she was wearing the outfit in the video it was going to led to a causal look because I thought it was cute looking.

I was going to post the Larry david quote “the only people who wear sunglasses inside are blind people and assholes” but you make a good point. I also get weirdly blind when I walk into the grocery store, the fluorescents bother me.
Sometimes for the record some people (aka me and my mom) wear out sunglasses inside stores because they are Prescription and can’t see without them and have a sensitivity to light (aka harsh homegoods/marshalls lighting) and it physically hurts to not wear them. Don’t know if you knew that but there’s those people (in the club) and then there’s us. Just saying don’t judge if you see someone at home goods because it’s an actual health issue.

One outfit I wear that people have questioned in the past is when I wear a loose sweater with booty shorts and usually some kind of boot, heels, or in the summer flip flops.
As she showed in the beginning; many fashion "rules" have been broken. I think it's fine to wear athletic shoes with jeans. In fact all those major sneaker companies have a lifestyle line of sneakers meant to be worn everyday even if they look athletic. There are many sneakerheads out there where wearing sneakers everyday is just part of the culture. So I say go for it 😊
Lol I get that sunglasses indoor look douchey af, but I wear prescription sunglasses, so if i take them off I’ll walk into a wall. 😂 And switching between regular glasses and sunglasses is such a pain in the butt.
haha, I once broke my glasses on vacation so I was stuck wearing sunglasses for two days until I found someone who could fix them. Never felt so douchey in my life... 😂

I have broken the sunglasses rule. I get random migraines a lot. So I wear my sunglasses in the store. It prevents me from throwing up or passing out. I always show cleavage. There's no way around that. So I always like to wear long pants summer and winter 😂
There are bras even in large sizes that separate. I wear a 40J by Goddess. Great separation and lift. A bonus: people thought I lost weight when I started wearing Goddess bras. No more droopy uniboob.
I love all the fashion rules except the sunglasses rule. Maybe it's because I'm in Cali but sunglasses is a must for those days my face is still asleep (I didn't have time to put on makeup and look alive 😆).
The last part is interesting... Can you please do a video of dos donts dressing tips for a certain age 30s for example. How to dress younger than your age but still appropriate? Not trying too hard to look young... something like that! ;) Almost 1M... wow!

And also if you're autistic and have sensory needs. Lots of people with autism might need to wear sunglasses and or headphones inside. Saying not to wear sunglasses because it looks douchey is actually super douchey and abelist
