Wow, so I did an experiment. I searched an item I had and couldn't find it in 400 listings. I changed the return policy to 60 and added an expedited shipping option. My item jumped to the first 20 listings. You're aces!!
My mobile friendly thingy first started appearing yesterday. It is soooo helpful when listing and saves time by not having to go out open a new window.
Thank you for the info. I was pink-slipped due to school distinct restructuring & it doesn't look promising that I'll get another job. I'm in my mid-50's, the hubby in his mid-60's and disabled. Reselling might just be the answer to our prayers for a home-based business that works. It's scary to be our ages trying to secure a revenue stream!

I have to worry about offering 1 day handeling I work a full time job and if I get out of work late I sometimes have to put my package in the bin to be shipped the next day. I would rather set a 2 day handeling than get dinged for being late
Mobile Friendly you can correct right on the revised listing. Just click on Fix this when you are in the mobile tab. I don't understand why you need to copy & paste a line when it will do it for you.
Suzanne A Wells who I think works for eBay said in a video recently that free shipping won't move you up. She said it used to but not anymore. I feel like I lose a lot of money when I ship for free. It adds up :(

I understand looking at solds, but never quite understood what to look for when looking at comps, that's solds and not solds right? Also you never talked about looking at actives and what your'e looking for. I watched your video on Cassini on Saturday am. Had a plush I was re-listing for the 2nd time, sell similar, I added two more shipping options (priority and express) to the USPS First Class I was charging, sold the next day. I had 38 items in my store. I do free shipping on First Class most of the time, but if something hangs around a while I will lower the price and charge shipping, making the total the same as it was with free shipping, and it often sells.

I've called about this because one of my stores has the mobile checker and the other doesn't. They said that one store was using the advanced listing page and the other wasn't. I just called so I haven't checked this yet.
I do two day handling; I usually get things out the same day (if bought early enough) or by the next day, but I do have a life plus in case weather is bad or something comes up (or I can't find something!) it buys me some time...and I'm still TRS.

Besides front/back cover, what am I supposed to take 12 photos of? 2) Offer free or 1 day shipping? That's expensive to offer on all items! Sometimes you cant do 12 photos.. Free shipping normal. And offer a sECONDARY form of shipping for 1 day which you charge for of course. I do best offer on my items, thats personal preference.
Well I list on mobile and when I click on them to revise them individually they say "NOT mobile friendly" about 50/50. So ebay support is wrong. The person you spoke with may not be up to date on it
I think the "mobile friendly checker" only shows up on the website, because I never seen it from the app. So when I use the app to list a product, really quick, I make sure to use the "mobile friendly checker" using my mobile browser or on my computer.
Ok, so if I offer free shipping in my listing and go to ad another shipping option, apply an overnight shipping option it will make the buyer pay for overnight shipping? Sorry I'm afraid to do that. If someone buys and I have to pay well dang thats a lot of $. Sorry I am really new! I shipped my 1st sale today though!

I don't think meta tags should be within your font tag. It will work that way, I think, but not proper html. Not sure why it comes up that way for you. It doesn't for me. Great tips - thanks!
You mention setting handling time to 1 day that gives you the fast and free label on shipping and your video shows you have set it on priority mail. I have mine set to same day handling before 12 pst and first class mail. After that, 12 pst the fast and free logo disappears.
You mentioned one of the tips being as many pictures as possible. If I have for example a music cd. Brand new sealed. It usually asks for UPC to fill in a lot of the information about the cd. Would I just use the stock picture eBay gives you or what would be the best way to deal with that.
casey i think somone beat me to this, but just wanted to let everyone know ,ebay now has an auto fix button ,just click it and it makes your listing mobile ready. I also seen suszane wells vid that stated ebay no longer rewards sellers for free shipping. I do not thinks she works for ebay but dose have alot of knowledge . One thing i can say, i havent noticed any difference by offering free shipping, in fact somtimes it just ends up over priced items after you build in the shipping cost. especially with used clothing. ALSO i noticed about a week ago the fast and free logo vanished from all my listing?? spoke to ebay 3 times and got the same standard answer ,,i will pass it on to our I.T department. Has anyone else had this problem???
Great video Casey, I'm going to be incorporating these in my listings asap! =) I have a question too while I'm here....I have a bunch of Victoria's Secret things in my store, and I use the correct spelling of the store/brand name in my title. But, different listings come up if you write "Victorias Secret" without the apostrophe! So basically people that may not type the name in grammatically correct are missing all my listings! So now I find myself painstakingly trying to get rid of non-essential keywords in my title just so i can tack on a non-apostrophe "Victorias" to the end of my title so I'm coming up in either spelling results. arrgh!! =/ I mean really, am I missing something?
i found out that if you have a basic store the mobile friendly editing option does not show up. once i upgraded to a premium store i now see it. so that option is not available for basic store.

People don't want to pay for anything anymore.. Ebay has gone down. I list for as low as possible to make at least a $10 profit.. If I list it with free shipping on some of my items, I won't make a real profit
RockstarFlipper Yikes. It did not help. I bulk edited my 400ish items by adding it to the HTML. I checked the spelling against yours 3 times and added the open and closed arrows to the code. I then checked about 2 dozen of my newly revised items and they all said they weren't mobile ready now. All it did was take out my link for "check my other listings" which I loved and worked fine on my mobile. It also added "buyer added to description" with a line. I now have to individually edit 400 items to take the code you gave out of there. Any ideas of what happened? 😢😢
RockstarFlipper I chose HTML and pasted it there. I've been on eBay since 1999 and wrote basic code when we were still allowed to use fun templates. 😁 I just finished going through and editing the first 200 one by one so I'm halfway there. It is only taking about an hour to edit 100 so it isn't as bad as I thought.
When taking photos, do you just want 12 pictures with like 4 of front (same angle and basically the same distance), 4 of back (like the front), 2-3 of tags, and 1 close up? I am seeing sellers doing this. Or are you finding 12 different shots better?
Can you talk about competing with sellers that use stock photos? I won't use them, because it is illegal, and notice those that do are selling faster and for a higher price.
What if you got an item stand but it's still not showing up on eBay or USPS as being scanned? The package was sent on June 9 and I had it scanned that morning
I had the same thing happen to me. Had all my packages from the weekend scanned at the Post Office on Monday morning. A few days later on Thursday I noticed that a couple of them were still showing up as "Label created ". I pulled my scan receipt and they were indeed scanned. The packages showed up as delivered the next day. Not sure why that happened.
Holds--I hear 2 different things. I know about the holds but, do they hold just the buyers money, or everthing in your account? Do they release the shipping amount, or not?
make sure you add the arrows on the outside beginning and end, and also make sure its pasted in the HTML section of the description box, not the standard.
casey ,sorry to bombard you with comments,, but i have a question for you,, i said i am fairly new,,but this is actually my second time around with ebay,,i was a power seller in early 2000 being the equivalent of top rated now days. so i have been around the block before. but last time i was dropshipping watches from china ,,then in 2005 or so ebay went on one of their power trips and changed all the rules on dropshipping ,,saying it was only allowed if you had the items on hand ,and made it to expensive to maintain the need stock to do the volume i was doing. this time around i am selling clothing,,its just so abundant in my area . and pretty good brands. but my question is with clothing, how many listing do you need to get consistent sales. ive also noticed alot of brands that used to sell really fast ,,like robert grham now sell much slower and for less. any tip would be greatly appreciated.
The Ann Taylor LOFT jacket you showed, the brand is spelled wrong in the title. You spelled it as Anne Taylor loft. Correcting that might help your item sell. :)
Another question, if you don't mind. Have you found that when you offer 60 day returns that some people intentionally buy the item just to use it for those 60 days and had planned to return it all along?
How do you close a case if a buyer reguests a return by opening a case instead of messaging you first? Dont you have to hace ebay close that case for you after the item is successfully returned back and you have refunded buyer?
Go to the resolution center under the my eBay section on the left side of the page. you can see all your open and closed cases.. go to action and close the case after the information exchange has finished between you, the buyer, and eBay

Hi Casey! Thx for the tips :) I tried to edit in bulk to mobile friendly and it didn't work for some reason. I went through all of the steps and it told me the edits were successful, but when I go into each individual listing to verify, it still isn't mobile friendly. Is it possible that the link is possibly missing something? Do I need to add the arrows to the ends or remove any accidental inclusions? Plz help! Thx so much! :)
When you click the mobile friendly button and it comes up that there's a problem, it gives the option to fix the problem for you. Do I have to do this code in addition to clicking the option to fix for me?

Correct...your ACCOUNT is made top rated...meaning you have all the metrics above top rated level.. Once your account is GREEN for top rated, then any item you mark as 1 day handling and 30 day or more returns gets the badge and discount... you can list an item with 3 handling and no returns and it won't get a badge or discount fee but every other item on your account still will if they have 1 day and 30 day returns..
"The more you fill in, the better." Not 100% accurate or true. In General, yes, but in the case of certain areas, such as, "Boys and Girls" or "Fall" or "Winter" selections, you're actually limiting yourself. Think about it. If someone searches "Sweaters for Winter", then your Sweater will NOT come up in Search Results because you're for "Fall" only. Leaving this blank would've resulted in "Fall" AND "Winter" Search Result Ranking for that item.
