Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

1) For a 10 year old, these are the memories that will last forever. Best days evar!!!! 2) As a 52 year old computer systems analyst, there is a part of me that wishes he was 10 years old again. Watching this video is just like I were riding with Zach, learning stuff... like a 10 year old. 3) I recognized those mountains in the distance immediately when they show up in the video. I was stationed at Luke Air Force Base (which is north of Buckeye AZ) for 5 wonderful years. Best stateside assignment ever. I used to make a weekly trip to that exact same Sonic for the foot long chili dogs and onion rings. Would move back to the Valley of the Sun in a heartbeat if I knew I could land a decent job. I wonder if Bales Hay Farm has a use for a seasoned computer nerd / mechanic / radio repairer. 4) That bale stacker is amazing. When I was a teenager, I was the bail stacker - no gas or oil, just feed me 3 squares and provide a place to sleep. 5) Thank you for sharing your trips around to other farms. This kind of content is great for everyone to see and learn. Keep it between the rows.

I started in field when I was 6, picking stones by hand all day with Dad. Picked stones by myself with tractor since 12, after I serviced the equipment. I was even moving equipment 15 miles down the roads. Started driving pickup when I was 9. Dad bought a grain vac and a stone picker when I graduated grade 12. Pissed me off, still can't get over that.

I got to this channel through a you-tuber that plays farming simulator (whose channel doesn't get as many views as it used to) I really dig watching actual farming, it helps that I too live in MN. :) The stacker looks cooler than some of the stuff we have in the game. The short time I got to live outside the cities, we WERE the stackers, an arm would deposit a bale on the front of the truck and we had to schlep it over and stack it. :/ it was great fun for 10-12 yo boys, for about half as long as they wanted us to do it. Thanks for making me feel old Z. I graduated high school in '83. Awesome channel

Great video Zhac, I was impressed by Trevor's Irrigation system, it works the same as our Famous PA Yeoman's Key Line flood irrigation,he was a Mining Engineer he developed the Key Line system back in 1960 ,He used to flood irrigate in a similar way, about 15 acres would only take a hour to irrigate, that was a lot of water , for every acre 1 inch of rain equals about 27,154 gallons so I think it would take 4 inches over 15 acres to irrigate it in one hour. I could see his reasoning , Trevor was smart to see its the quickest way to irrigate a lot of paddock area in small areas and the cheapest. Thank you for such a good video Regards Trevor.W.Bacelli. Thanks a bunch for this video. I found this hay ranching extremely interesting. It is quite a process. Equipment moving all the time in every direction and each one doing a different task. Wow. I never imagined that these hay farms had this continuous process going on. Super interesting. Thanks for taking us there Zach. Good to see your dad. My best to him. Your son had the biggest smile on his face running the baler , good for him. Thanks again. Was super interesting. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
